The Error Rate Performance of digital Radio Signals in Diversity Reception
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 16, issue 6, 1991, Pages 489~497
The error rate pquations of digital radio signals transmitted throught the Nakagami's m-distribution fading channel have been both for nondiversity reception and for diversity reception cases in the environmment of Gaussin noise. Using the derived equation. erro rate performance has been evaluated and represented in figures as a function of carrier to noise ratio, fading figure, and the power correlation coefficient between two diversity branches. By comparing the diversity reception case with nondiversity reception case. We could measure the amount of error rate performance improvenment of digital radiosignals in fanding enviroment.
A Study on the Performance Analysis Algorithm for Digital Transmission Lines
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 16, issue 6, 1991, Pages 498~508
This thesis presents a performance analysis algorithm that estimates erro performance of individual links, at the bit level, in an end-to-end digital connection using the model of 3-statte MarKov chain. The link model proposed the burst error behavior of each individual link. It also presents a method to concateante several individual links and extract a model for end-to-end digital connection. This resulting end-to-end model can be used to calculate performance parameters such as bit error rate(BER) and block error(BLER) for any block size.
A Study on the Objective Evaluation Model of Telephone Transmission Quality
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 16, issue 6, 1991, Pages 509~516
In this paper, we propose on objective evaluation model of telephone transmission qulity in order to estimate a satisfaction score regarding speech quality in a relephone network. As the degradantion factors of telephone transmission quality, this model takes into account transmission loss, noise, distortion, talker echo and sidetone. A performance index[PI] is introduced for five psychological factors affecting telephone speech qualty, and a Mean Opinion Score(MOS) is estimated from the sum of all Pis. The simulation results indicate theat the MOS obtained from the objective evaluation model is in good agreement with that of subjective evaluation.
A Study on Cellular Communication with Frequency Hopping Technique
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 16, issue 6, 1991, Pages 517~532
This paper shows performance analysis for FH/MF나 systems over the cellular mobile communication channel. The Channel capacity over FH/MF나 system is represented as a function of deletion probalblity (Po) and insertion probalbility(Pt). The spectral efficiency of the system serves as a per formance of cellular system is inferior to that of non cellular system. In the case of frequency reuse, we get the best performance when the reuse pattern(N) is 3.
Performacne Analysis of Bridges and MAC Protocols for FDDI Backbone Networks
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 16, issue 6, 1991, Pages 533~544
In this paper, the performance of bridges used to interconnect LAN to FD야 backbone networks as well as the performance of MAC protocols for FD야 backbone networks were thoroughly analyzed, The exhaustive service discipline and three ource models were applied to analyze the mean waiting time of the system. the performance is evaluated in terms of the service rate of bridge, total load of backbone. medium length of back bone, value of T and station latency. The result of analysis show that in general , processing delay of the system is mainly determined by bridge delays. But when processing time of bridge mereases, processing delays of the system are primarily determined by MAC protocols. Therefore, speed-up of processing time of bridge is necessary to efficiently use the high speed backbone networks.
Implementation of Optical Pattern Recognition System Based on Perceptron Neural Network
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 16, issue 6, 1991, Pages 545~555
In this paper, We discuss optical implementation of new optical adaptive patern recognition system based on single layer perception with learning capability and associative memory model having error corrective capability. The single layer perceptron is optically implemented by using 2 D LCTV spatial light modulators through the nonlinear quantization and polarization encoding methods, and 2 D hopfield associative memory is also implemented by using multifocus holographic lens. From some experimental results on classfication of Arabic numbers into even & edd numbers, it is shown that the proposed system can classify the patterns to the right classes correctly even for the partial and erronenous input patterns. Accordingly, the proposed optical adaptive pattern recognition system can be suggested for practical application in the fields of image processing and pattern recognition.
Content-Addressable Systolic Array for Solving Tridiagonal Linear Equation Systems
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 16, issue 6, 1991, Pages 556~565
Using the WDZ decomposition algorithm, a parallel algorithm is presented for solving the linear system Ax=b which has an nxn nonsingular tridiagonal matrix. For implementing this algorithm a CAM systolic arrary is proposed, and each processing element of this array has its own CAM to store the nonzero elements of the tridiagonal matrix. In order to evaluate this array the algorithm presented is compared to theis compared to the LU decomposition algorithm. It is found that the execution time of the algorithm presented is reduced to about 1/4 than that of the LU decomposition algorithm. If each computation process step can be dome in one time unit, the system of eqations is solved in a systolic fashion without central control is obtained in 2n+1 time steps.
Magnetic Field Strength Measurement using Circular Loop Antenna
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 16, issue 6, 1991, Pages 566~573
For the evaluation of the magnetic field strengthmeasured by standard field method with that measured by standard antenna method. The compared results are in good agreement within the error limit. As the Result of this research, the calibration service for magnetic field strenth measurement can be provided whtin the uncertainty of about 1 dB in the frequency range of 10 kHz to 30MHz
