The Realization of State-Space Digital Filters with Minimum Output Error Variance by Weighted Function

This paper proposes the realization of state-space digital filters with minimum output error variance. The algorithm is transforms of controllability and observability gramian in linear time invariant systems by weighted function and can improve performance of the digital filters by reducing the put error variance for state space coeffient variation. A numerical example shows that algorithm structure has much lower output error variance than that of other four structures(canonical, parallel, statistical sensitivity, balanced).
Design & Fabrication of Ferrite-core Loop Antenna for Portable Radio Receiver

In this paper, ferrite-core loop antenna for portable radio receiver is designed and its characteristics are analyzed. Antenna is fabricated by inserting the ferrite core inside the planar conductor loop
. Bandwidth and Q factor of fabricated antenna measure 0.55 MHz and 280, respectively. These results show remarkable enhancement compared to the conventional loop antenna having the same physical dimension(BW=1.9MHz, Q=8.14). Experimental results show that the relative gain of the fabricated antenna is about 11 dB higher than that of the conventional antenna.
Subband Coding of Images Using Vector Quantization Classified by Energy Distributions

In 1-D subband coding system, a quadrature mirror filter (QMF) pair can be used to split a signal into two subbands and to reconstruct the original signal. In this paper, a pair of 1-D reconstruction filter for the subband coding system is introduced and a coding technique with classified vector quantization, based on energy distributions, for 16 subband images is presented. As computer simulation results show that the method can give similar perceptual quality with bit rate reduced by
of that of ordinary vector quantization.
Throughput Performance of Common Spreading Code and Transmitter-Oriented CDMA Packet Radio Networks

The performance of common spreading code scheme employing multiple-capture receiver is compared to that of transmitter-oriented (T/O) code division multiple access (CDMA) scheme in view of the possibility of collision-free transmissions and the effect of secondary multiple-access interference. For performance comparisons, secondary multiple-access interference is characterized for the common code scheme and the T/O CDMA scheme that assures perfectly collision-free transmissions. Throughput performance is then evaluated for these two schemes with direct-sequence spread-spectrum/differential-phase-shift-keying (DS-SS/DPSK) data modulation and forward-error-control coding (BCH codes) in the presence of an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). It is shown that when the number of radios is relatively large, the maximum normalized throughput is greater for the common code scheme than for the T/O CDMA scheme at a moderate signal-to-noise ration(SNR).
A Study on the ASK Communication Modem over Electrical Power Lines

The layout of electrical power distribution networks never involved communications aspects. As a result their transmission properties severly complicate the use as data links. Futhermore bandwidth as well as transmission power is restricted. Nevertheless, power distribution net works represent a most attractive medium for digital communication purposes due to an ever increasing demand, e.g., for environment management of buildings, office automation, and remote meter reading or security monitoring. In this paper, a power line modem which is capable of transmitting and receiving data at 1200 bps using OOK-BASK through 220V AC power lines is implemented. The receiver includes noncoherent detector and performs soft decision. The OLM circuits can be simplified by use of microprocessor. The PLM also satisfies CENELEC, European standards, and can be applied to home automation system.
Design and Analysis of Binary Line Code MB46

A (4,6) block binary line code is proposed. In addition to being de-free and runlength-limited, the new code called MB46 is strictly bandwidth-limited to the Nyquist frequency, thus achieving improved bandwidth efficiency over previously known binary line code. A technique specially employed in the design of the code is described in depth, and some performance measures including the eye pattern and the power spectrum are presented as obtained by simulation.
The Performance Analysis of DS/SSMA BPSK Correlation Receivers in Electric Power Line Channel

In this paper, the performance of linear and hard-limiting correlation receivers for DS/SSMA BPSK power line communication system is analyzed. Strong impulsive noise of power line is modeled with Chan's noise model, and the performance of both receivers is analyzed in terms of parameters such as ratio of power spectrum density of impulsive noise to that background noise, ratio in impulsive noise width th that of data bit, and interarrival time of impulsive noise. And also multiple access capacity is evaluated with Gaussian approximation of multiple access interference. The results of this analysis reveal that the performance of linear correlation receiver is superior to that of hard-limiting correlation receiver when
is small and is close to 1. But the BER and the multiple access capacity of hard-limiting correlation receiver becomes better in comparison with linear correlation receiver as
A Study on the Interline Flicker Reduction of Teletext by using KProgressive Scan

We developed the interface system between D-SCAN TV system and the Teletext system to reduce the effect of interline flick. At first, horizontal and vertical signal is separated from the composite signal. The stable vertical sync and horizontal sync is applied to the conventional Teletext system and the its output has R.G.B signal form and the output of the Teletext system. This signal is converted into composite signal and is switched at the video selector system in TV to process the signal by progressive method.
Speaker Recognition Using Dynamic Time Variation fo Orthogonal Parameters

Recently, many researchers have found that the speaker recognition rate is high when they perform the speaker recognition using statistical processing method of orthogonal parameter, which are derived from the analysis of speech signal and contain much of the speaker's identity. This method, however, has problems caused by vocalization speed or time varying feature of speed. Thus, to solve these problems, this paper proposes two methods of speaker recognition which combine DTW algorithm with the method using orthogonal parameters extracted from
Transform method which applies orthogonal parameters as feature vector to ETW algorithm and the other is the method which applies orthogonal parameters to the optimal path. In addition, we compare speaker recognition rate obtained from the proposed two method with that from the conventional method of statistical process of orthogonal parameters. Orthogonal parameters used in this paper are derived from both linear prediction coefficients and partial correlation coefficients of speech signal.
A Design of Standard A earth Station Antenna for INTELSAT Satellite

In this paper, the standard A earth station antenna was designed by using the shaping techniques and also manufactured for I NTELSAT satellite. The designed antenna Is C-band shaped casse grain antenna with the diameter of 18m. The wide-angle radaiation patterns wholly satisfied CCIR Recommendation of sidelobe envelope line of 29-25 logo. The whole radiatlon characteristics satisfied the design specifications
A Study on Dynamic Robot Control by Neural Network

As the dynamics model for industrial robot is a mutural coupling of inertia, centrifugal force, gravity, etc it is very difficult to get solution to the question how it works. To control such complex non-linear features of the manipulator, it is required to develop a lot simpler algorithm on the real time.
A Burst Error Correction Decoding Algorithm in TCM on Mobile Communications

In this paper, a burst-error-correcting adaptive decoding in TCM(Trellis Coded Modulation) is presented that combines maximun-likelihood decoding with a burst error detection scheme. The decoder usually operates as a Viterbi decoder and switches to a burst-error-correcting mode whenever error patterns uncorrectable by Viterbi decoder are detected. It is demonstrated that TCM using adaptive decoding method outperforms a traditional TCM on the multi-path fading channels that are busty in nature, which are like the channel environments of mobile communications.
On the Filtering of Hangul character Element with the Spatial Positioning Modulation

This paper presents the filtering method which is processed on the frequency domain among Hangul character recognition methods. It is processed the Hangul character parrern with spatial positioning modulation and mapped the Hangul character element which have spatial position variant feature onto frequency domain, at this time, normalized spatial position and so normalized the character size in frequency domain. And it is grouped the Hangul character element according to the generating position and set the standard pattern, and used each standard character element pattern with character element filter and filtering the character pattern of Hangul character, it is derived the normalized cross correlation function and the coherence function led to the filtering results, and calculated classification threshold.
Controller Design for Robot Manipulator using Identifier

When the model of control object is not described correctly, ambiguity is often expressed by unknown parameter, In a case that this ambiguity satisfies a certain condition of limit, if robust control method is used, even if model is not correctly discribed, control system can be composed. The characteristic of control based on the variable structure theory is that the influence by ambiguity of system eradicates high-gain feedback. Therefore in this paper, VSS indentifier is proposed. Transformation of control input producing control system in sliding mode actually reflects influence of ambiguity unknown parameter of control object. If useful information is out from transformation input by a few times of operation, proper identify mechanism is selected and this information is used, to decide the unknown parameter is possible. So more effective controller was composed by addition of the proposed identifier to the unknown parameter identifier of robot manipulator.
