PMIPv6 Global Handover Mechanism using Multicast Source Based Forwarding

In this paper, we propose the global handover mechanism that is able to provide the unlimited range of next-generation multimedia mobile services in an integrated environment. This mechanism consists of a multicast source based forwarding scheme and a global session management scheme. Global session management scheme provides LMA session information management, global mobility and route optimization. Multicast source based forwarding scheme delivers data between previously attached LMA and newly attached LMA without packet loss. In addition, this scheme removes the redundancy of buffered data. We present a performance evaluation and features analysis by the simulations using the ns-2. Global session management scheme has a less handover latency, propagation delay and signaling cost than the conventional methods. Multicast source based forwarding scheme can deliver buffer data without loss and it has less buffer size than conventional method.
Design and Verification of Flow Mobility Scheme tn the AIMS System

The existing mobility management schemes do not fully support the next generation network, which is composed of IP-based core network and various access networks. Currently, ETRI has been developing the AIMS (Access Independent Mobility Service) system which satisfies the ITU-T requirements of mobility management in the next generation network. The AIMS system is designed to provide a mobile host with a fast and reliable mobility service among heterogeneous access networks. Recently, many user devices have multiple communication interfaces, e.g., 3G and WLAN, and thus they can make two or more network connections at the same time. In this paper, we design a scheme of flow mobility, i.e., the movement of selected data flows from one access technology to another, to be applied in the AIMS system, and verify the proposed scheme through the NS-3 simulation study. From the simulation results, we can know that the proposed flow mobility scheme can utilize the network resource efficiently in the heterogeneous mobile networks.
Vertical Handoff Decision System based on Support Vector Machine

It is expected that many heterogeneous wireless systems, such as 3GPP LTE systems, WiMAX systems and WLAN systems, will coexist in the next generation wireless communication environments. Integrated radio resource management and seamless vertical handoff (VHO) should be supported to provide integrated communication services over multi-radio access networks. A new class of adaptive VHO system that views the handoff problem as a pattern recognition problem is proposed. In this paper, we propose a unified radio resource management (URRM) architecture and Support Vector Machine (SVM) based vertical handoff decision system. Extensive simulation studies show the proposed VHO algorithm outperforms RSS based VHO algorithms in terms of throughput and service cost.
Available Bandwidth Measurement Method Considering Idle Period and Transmission Overheads in IEEE 802.11b DCF Wireless LANs

The lack of QoS (Quality of Service) support functionalities in IEEE 802.11 DCF mode makes it difficult to provide real-time multimedia services in WLANs. In this paper, we propose an effective available bandwidth measurement method in IEEE 802.11b DCF environments. The proposed method measures the total channel idle time and the collision probability during each measurement period. Then, the available bandwidth is calculated by considering those measured information and the transmission overheads at MAC and PRY layers. The performances of the proposed method are evaluated using OPNET simulator. The simulation results show that the proposed method provides more exact results than existing comparable schemes.
Capacity Analysis of Base Stations in CDMA Mobile Communications Systems in the Subway Environment

We analyze the capacity of CDMA base stations in the subway environment. We investigate the characteristics of multipath fading, cell structures, and propagation environment in the subway, analyze signal to noise ratio, sectorization gain, path-loss exponent, frequency reuse factor, and obtain the link capacity of a base station in the subway. We measure the peakedness factor and reveal that base stations in the subway have peaked traffic. We use Neal-Wilkinson model to obtain the Erlang capacity instead of Erlang-B model based on Poisson traffic.
An Analysis of the Economic Effects for the Immersive Media Industry

The research on the immersive media technology is actively being done with the emergence of immersive services using immersive media, especially in the broadcasting industry and with the increased market demand for it. The industry which produces, transmits, processes and services the immersive contents is commonly called Immersive Media Industry. Immersive Media Industry has recently received attention as next-generation strategic industry with its high marketability and its high possibility of market expansion through convergence with other industry such as education, health, advertisement, travel and public service industry. As other advanccd country such as the U.S., Japan and Europe buckle down to take the innitiative in the immersive media industry, Korea government also begins to make plan to promote the immersive media industry. As above, immersive media industry is a cutting-edge convergence industry which embraces broadcasting, telecommunication and contents industry and it is rising as core growth engine industry. This article analyses the economic effects of immersive media industry through quantatitive method and evaluates the relations between the immersive media industry and the other related industries. As a result, the effect on production inducement of immersive media industry is 610.9 billion Korean Won; the effect on value-added inducement is 468.7 billion Korean Won; and it is measured that 3,258 job will be created by the immersive media industry.
Estimating Network Externalities Mark-up in Mobile Telecommunications Service in Korea

This paper constructed a model estimating mobile nework externalities based on Ofcom model and estimated externalities mark-up. The main results are as follows: 1) there are 15,626,711 marginal subscribers in mobile network irrespective of its maturity. 2) the value of network externalities ranges 2.1 billions won to 435.4 billions won. 3) the extrenalities mark-up to support marginal subscribers ranges 0.03 won to 6.47 won. This results provide useful implications to policy about mobile network terminations fee as well as externalities mark-up disputes.
Design of an Efficient FTL Algorithm Exploiting Locality Based on Sector-level Mapping

This paper proposes a novel FTL (Flash Translation Layer) algorithm employing sector-level mapping technique based on locality to reduce the number of erase operations in flash memory accesses. Sector-level mapping technique shows higher performance than other mapping techniques, even if it requires a large mapping table. The proposed algorithm reduces the size of mapping table by employing dynamic table update, processes sequential writes by exploiting sequential locality and extracts hot sector in random writes. Experimental results show that the number of erase operations has been reduced by 75.4%, 65.8%, and 10.3% respectively when compared with well-known BAST, FAST and sector mapping algorithms.
Performance Analysis of Contention based Directional MAC Protocol

Directional MAC protocols have drawn great attentions recently in super high speed wireless local/personal area networks due to their higher antenna gain, better spatial reuse, longer transmission range, and lower interference. Despite of these merits, directional MAC protocols suffer from deafness problem. The deafness problem occurs if a node does not answer an RTS frame addressed to it. To overcome this problem, directional MAC protocols have aimed at avoiding the deafness problem using multiple control frames or advance notice techniques or distinguishing deafness from collision. In this paper, we analyze the performance of these schemes in deafness environments with some scenarios. Through performance analysis, we compare the performance of these schemes through evaluating actual network throughput.
Variation Measurement and Analysis of Jitter and Shimmer Parameter Value by Hemodialysis in Diabetic and Hypertensive

Chronic diseases is being increased attention to threatening the elements healthy life of elderly population in modem society. Especially, Chronic diseases caused by diabetes and hypertension is destroyed kidney. In this case, subjective symptom is not little. So if health is worsened, hemodialysis, artificial organs, transplant an organ etc. should be treated as a dangerous diseases. Therefor, a patients receiving hemodialysis of diabetes and hypertension studied on the effects to regularity of amplitude and rate vibration of vocal cords in hemodialysis in this paper. To do this, a diabetic and hypertensive patients don't have a problem with pronunciation selected as of the subjects and their voices collected before and after hemodialysis. We studied on the effects of voice analysis to apply regularity of amplitude and rate vibration of vocal cords. In conclusion, we extracted a result that voice after than before hemodialysis is relatively low in voice measures values a regularity of amplitude and rate vibration of vocal cords.
A Study on the Ring Finger Length Analysis of Heart Diseases Patient's by the Testosterone

Testosterone acts to protect the heart as a male hormone. If it is secreted suitably, health, but too less it will have an bad influence in organs of the body. In particular, when normal levels of testosterone secretion is less, arteriosclerosis will be increased risk of heart diseases. According to the amount of testosterone is influenced difference in the ring finger length of male. Therefore, we organize groups of subjects in heart diseases and normal who measure these groups' length of the ring finger and index finger. With this in mind, we carried out analysis of interrelationship in length of the ring finger and heart diseases through cross-comparison analysis in this paper.
Data Aggregation Method Guaranteeing Minimum Traffic in Multi-hop Automatic Meter Reading Networks

Due to the advantages of a conveniet, inexpensive installation, flexibility, and scalability, Wireless AMR systems are recently preferred over wired AMR systems. However, a multi-hop supported AMR network, which generally covers large areas, may create energy wastage problem, energy unbalance, and high interference hazard due to a large amount of concurrent-intensive metering data in the network. Therefore in this paper we propose a novel data gathering method which can solve abovementioned problems as well as conserve energy, by reducing the traffic in the network. In addition, the experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme shows superior performance to the conventional data transmission method.

The RFID(Radio-Frequency IDentification) systems have many security problem such as eavesdropping, a replay attack, location tracking and DoS(Denial of Service) attacks. Because RFID systems use radio-frequency. So research are being made to solve the problem of RFID systems, one of which is AES algorithm. This paper presents an authentication protocol using AES and one-time random number to secure other attacks like eavesdropping, a replay attack, location tracking, In addtion, RSMAP uses OTP(One-Time Pad) in order to safely transmit.
Detection Probability Evaluation of ORCOMM LEO Satellite AIS for Maritime-Terrestrial Integrated Wireless Communications

In this paper, the feasibility of ORBCOMM satellite-based automatic identification system (SAT-AIS) is evaluated in the context of ship AIS slot collision probability depending on reporting rate, We evaluate detection probability evaluation of ORBCOMM satellite-based AIS considering link budget, SOTDMA protocol and satellite's swath width. The simulation determines the total number of vessels served by ORBCOMM satellite according to satellite's swath width, AIS slot allocation and reporting rate. By simulation results, the ORBCOMM satellite-based AIS slot collision is increased directly proportional to the total number of vessels and the more detection probability evaluation of ORBCOMM satellite-based AIS degrader, the more sip AIS reporting rate shorter.
Performance Analysis of Underwater Communication Channel Using LDPC Codes in the MISO Channel

Due to reflect at surface of the water and limit bandwidth, it is difficult to design underwater acoustic communication systems with high-reliability and high transmission rate. Therefore the trends of underwater communication is transformed from single sensor to multiple sensor studies. However, underwater MIMO communication techniques have a high correlation value between multiple sensors on transmitters and receivers in underwater environments, it is difficult to expect space diversity gain on muli-path channels. Therefore, this paper proposed the MISO communications system with two transmit sensors and single receiver sensor, and analyzed its performance using the LDPC codes and channel compensation algorithm.
Virtual Euc1idean Point based Multicast routing scheme in Underwater Acoustic sensor networks

Multicast has been a key routing service for efficient data dissemination in underwater acoustic sensor networks. In sensor networks, there are several multicast routing protocol which reflects sensor network nature. However, existing routing scheme was not targeted at underwater acoustic sensor networks which is hard to provide battery continually. Therefore, a specialized routing algorithm is essential for acoustic sensor networks. In this paper, we propose angle aided multicast routing algorithm for decreasing routing computation complexity, including virtual Euclidean Steiner point. Simulation results show better performance than exist routing Position Based Multicast, Geographic Multicast Routing. such as low computation capability and limited power consumption.
Advanced Synchronization Scheme in the LR-UWB System

This paper proposes a two-stage synchronization scheme using a serial search non-coherent correlator appropriate for the IEEE 802.15.4a system. The proposed method improved the synchronization performance by using multi-pulse signals unlike the conventional method using single-pulse signals. It also compensated for the degradation of performance at low SNR resulting from the use of fixed threshold by applying the adaptive threshold technique. The proposed method showed a detection probability that is higher by approximately 0.2-0.3 compared with the conventional method in the IEEE 802.15.4a channel model.
