Pilot Subcarrier Based Channel Estimation Scheme in IEEE 802.11p Systems

It has been grown interests of the convergence technologies about communication systems and vehicular industry. Vehicular communications enable a number of infotainment applications to serve cars under high mobility environments. To achieve this goal, a robust and accurate channel estimation scheme is of great importance. This paper proposes an enhanced Decision-Directed channel estimation scheme called PTAU(Pilot Tone Aided Update) for IEEE 802.11p in vehicular communication environment. Existing approaches which use subsequent data symbols to estimate channel response in time domain will lead to the error propagation. In this paper, we use the pilot subcarriers to get initial channel response, then utilize the correlation characteristics to update channel response in frequency domain. Finally, Analysis and simulation results reveal that the proposed scheme outperforms in bit error rate(BER), significantly improve the performance of the estimation.
Inkjet-Printed Capacitive Touch Paper

In this paper, an inkjet-printed capacitive touch pad is proposed. This touch pad detects contacts of human finger by detecting changes in effective capacitance due to electrical impedance of human finger. A flexible, low-cost and disposable paper is used as a substrate. Inkjet printing technology makes the fabrication fast, simple and environmentally friendly. Measured capacitances of the touched and untouched states are in the range of 163 to 182pF and 218 to 272pF, respectively. The differences in the measured capacitance of each state are sufficiently large to recognize that a finger has made contact with touch pad.

In this paper, for the purpose of providing high data rate services, the multi-hop frame structure is designed for the underwater acoustic (UWA) short-range system which is proposed as a part of ocean surveillance and tracking network (OSTN). Under the measured underwater channel environment, the link-level system performance are also evaluated. Simulation results show not only the packet error rate (PER) comparisons, but the optimal modulation and coding scheme (MCS) levels for the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) based short-range UWA communications network.
Distributed Self-Organized Cell Association for Heterogeneous Cellular Networks

In this letter, a distributed self-organized cell association scheme is proposed for heterogeneous cellular networks. In which each small cell uses a common self-organization strategy and takes its environment into account to establish its own cell association scheme. It is confirmed that the proposed cell association improves the user throughput and areal spectral efficiency compared to joint association.

DNP3(Distributed Network Protocol) is one of the most representative protocols which is used in SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system. IEC 62351 is listing the integrity, confidentiality, availability and non-repudiation or accountability as the security requirement. However, IEEE Std. 1815 that is DNP3 standards does not define a mechanism for non-repudiation or accountability. In this paper, we propose a non-repudiation of origin technique about the sender of critical ASDU and implement the proposed scheme using software such as OpenSSL and SCADA source code library.
Resource Allocation Method for Improving Energy Efficiency and Receiver Fairness in Wireless Networks

In wireless networks, it is important to guarantee the energy efficiency and receiver fairness for satisfying service provider and customer at the same time. In this paper, we propose a resource allocation algorithm which improves energy efficiency as well as receiver fairness based on optimization techniques. In the proposed algorithm, subchannel and power are allocated to receivers iteratively in the consideration of channel state information, amount of dissipated power, and receiver rate, in order to improve energy efficiency and receiver fairness. Through simulation, we show the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed algorithm in terms of energy efficiency and receiver fairness.
Generalization of Zero-Knowledge Proof of Polynomial Equality

In this paper, we are interested in a generalization of zero-knowledge interactive protocols between prover and verifier, especially to show that the product of an encrypted polynomial and a random polynomial, but published by a secure commitment scheme was correctly computed by the prover. To this end, we provide a generalized protocol for proving that the resulting polynomial is correctly computed by an encrypted polynomial and another committed polynomial. Further we show that the protocol is also secure in the random oracle model. We expect that our generalized protocol can play a role of building blocks in implementing secure multi-party computation including private set operations.
Study on APT Penetration Analysis and Plan of Reaction for Secure XaaS

XaaS (Everything as a Service) provides re-usable, fine-grained software components like software, platform, infra across a network. Then users usually pay a fee to get access to the software components. It is a subset of cloud computing. Since XaaS is provided by centralized service providers, it can be a target of various security attacks. Specially, if XaaS becomes the target of APT (Advanced Persistent Threat) attack, many users utilizing XaaS as well as XaaS system can be exposed to serious danger. So various solutions against APT attack are proposed. However, they do not consider all aspects of security control, synthetically. In this paper, we propose overall security checkup considering technical aspect and policy aspect to securely operate XaaS.
Secure Smart Safety System Using Streetlight Infrastructure

As crime has actually increased in recent years, various mobile applications related to safety and emergency measure have received much attention. Therefore, IoT (Internet of Things) technologies, which connect various physical objects with Internet communication, have been also paid attention and then diverse safety services based on IoT technologies have been on the increase. However, existing mobile safety applications are simply based on location based service (LBS). Also, as they are independently operated without the help of another safety systems, they cannot efficiently cope with various safety situations. So, this paper proposes the efficient smart safety service architecture with both the risky situation detection using user location as well as various sensing information and the risk congruence measure using the streetlight infrastructure. Additionally, UDID (unique device identifier) is utilized for the secure communication with the control center.

In this letter, we consider a directional routing protocol that reduces the duplicated packets for AODV-based flooding in the course of establishing the end-to-end route in the multi-hop maritime ad-hoc networks. We propose an adaptive means of reducing the routing overhead subject to the node density and the target probability of successful routing that is analyzed by the stochastic geometry.

The improved DFSA for 2.4GHz multi-tags active RFID is suggested in 2 different ways: 1) simplified tag collection and Ack procedure using query command and 2) modified Schoute's method to control the number of slots in the frame. To evaluate the performance of the improved system we develop the simulation model. Varying the number of tags in the system we track the performance measures such as throughput, recognition time for multi-tags and tag recognition rate during a given time. The suggested method shows the best performance over all measures. Simplification of collection and Ack commands using query commands contributes to reducing tag recognition time. A Comparative Analysis of Informatization Level for Agricultural Corporations and SMEs

Agri-food ICT(Information and Communications Technologies) convergence has been raised as an important issue for agricultural industry competence. In this situation, this study is to enhance agricultural competitiveness and seek to development plan for agricultural corporation by diagnosing informatization level. For this purpose, this study conducted survey on informatization level of 3,019 agricultural corporations and calculated level score. And result is compared with SMEs(Small and Medium Enterprise) informatization survey, including manufacturing and service industries, conducted by Korea Technology & Information Promotion Agency for SMEs in recent agricultural corporations' growing with automation of agricultural production and improving service to customer satisfaction. Evaluation system is established to calculate informatization level score and AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) method was used by the experts to investigate weighting of assessment area, assessment indicators, assessment items. As a result, agricultural corporation informatization level score was 40.16 points which is lower than the benefitted organization of agri-food IT convergence modeling(43.44 points). By assessment area, the informatization level of promotional environment area was low and investment and training items were analyzed low especially so need to improve urgently. In the analysis result by organization type, agricultural company corporation's informatization level was higher than the agricultural association corporation and 'Processing and distribution' was higher than others by business type. Informatization level of agricultural corporation is 80 percent of 2013 SMEs' level(50.18 points) and 59.4 percent of a large corporation(67.64 points). In particular, big difference is occurred in investment feasibility analysis, informatization investment and education which will be need to improve.

The Korea Agency of Education, Promotion and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries launched a public data portal service in January 2015. The service provides customized information for consumers through an agri-food recommendation system built-in portal service. The recommendation system has fallowing characteristics. First, the system can increase recommendation accuracy by using a wide variety of agri-food related data, including SNS opinion mining, consumer's purchase data, climate data, and wholesale price data. Second, the system uses segmentation method based on consumer's lifestyle and megatrends factors to overcome the cold start problem. Third, the system recommends agri-foods to users reflecting various preference contextual factors by using recommendation algorithm, dirichlet-multinomial distribution. In addition, the system provides diverse information related to recommended agri-foods to increase interest in agri-food of service users.
WebRTC-Based Remote Collaborative Learning Platform

Recently, as the number of smart devices (such as smart TV or Web based IPTV) increases, the way of digital broadcast contents is changed. This change leads that conventional broadcast media accepts Web platform and its services to provide more quality contents. Based on this change, in education field, education broadcasting also follows the trend. The traditional education broadcasting platforms, which just delivered the lecture in one-way, are utilized the Web technology to make interaction between teacher and student. Current education platforms, however, are insufficient to satisfy users' demands for two-way interactions. This paper proposes a new remote collaborative learning platform which able to provide high interactivity among users. Based on new functional requirements from original use case, the platform provides collaborative contents sharing and collaborative video streaming techniques by utilizing WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) technology. The implementation demonstrates the operability of proposed system.
A Gain Control Algorithm of Low Computational Complexity based on Voice Activity Detection

In this paper, we propose a novel approach of low computational complexity to improve the speech quality of the small acoustic equipment in noisy environment. The conventional gain control algorithm suppresses the noise of input signal, and then the part of wide dynamic range compression (WDRC) amplifies the undesired signal. The proposed algorithm controls the gain of hearing aids according to speech present probability by using the output of a voice activity detection (VAD). The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated under various noise conditions by using objective measurement and yields superior results compared with the conventional algorithm.

Distributed relay scheme for wireless ad hoc multi-hop multicast network composed of low-power and low-complexity wireless devices with high density is proposed. The proposed relay scheme is shown to be better than flooding, which is the distributed relay scheme applied to ZigBee, in the outage probability and the multicast transmission rate by simulations.
Design and Analysis of UWB Circular Patch Antenna Using Microstrip Line

The proposed circular patch antenna was designed to include relative bandwidth of above 25% as designed by the FCC in the FCC in the 3.1 ~ 10.6 GHz band. The antenna was induced to have a wide band characteristic through two structures of the usual microstrip line and a microstrip line with a linear change in impedance. The proposed finally antenna was designed using an FR4_epoxy substrate with 4.7% permittivity, 0.02 of loss tangent, and 1.6 mm of thickness, and was simulated with the use of HFSS made by Ansys. Return loss at frequency, VSWR, radiation pattern and the gain of the antenna were analysed. As a result, if satisfied a return loss of -10 dB and
from 2.28 ~ 13.35 GHz, showing about the bandwidth of 11.89 GHz, and the radiation pattern was unidirectional in all bands. The antenna gain gradually increased from 2 ~ 8 GHz and had the highest gain of 7.92 dBi at 8 GHz. and the gain gradually decreased in the 9 ~ 12 GHz band.
Analysis Microstrip Patch Antenna of MIMO Structure

This study proposed a patch antenna with a MIMO structure which is applicable for wireless communication equipment by combining a single patch antenna with a multi port. The proposed MIMO patch antenna was designed through the TRF-45 substrate with a relative permittivity of 4.5, loss tangent equal to 0.0035 and dielectric high of 1.6 mm, and the center frequency of the antenna was 2.45 GHz in the ISM (Industrial Scientific and Medical) band. The proposed MIMO patch antenna had a 500 MHz bandwidth from 2.16 ~ 2.66 GHz and 24.1% fractional bandwidth. The return loss and VSWR were -62.05 dB, 1.01 at the ISM bandwidth of 2.45 GHz. The Wibro band of 2.3 GHz was -17.43 dB, 1.33, the WiFi band of 2.4 GHz was -31.89 dB, 1.05, and the WiMax band of 2.5 GHz was -36.47 dB, 1.03. The radiation patterns included in the bandwidth were directional, and the WiBro band of 2.3 GHzhad a gain of 4.22 dBi, the WiFi band of 2.4 GHz had a gain of 4.12 dBi, the ISM band of 2.45 GHz had a gain of 4.06dBi, and the WiMax band of 2.5 GHz had a gain of 3.9 6dBi.
Asynchronous Traffic Multi-Hop Transmission Scheme for N-Screen Services in Indoor and Ship Area Networks

In this paper, a WiMedia Distributed-MAC (D-MAC) protocol is adopted for development of a seamless N-screen wireless service in Indoor and Ship Area Networks. Furthermore, to provide the OSMU (One Source Multi Use) N-screen service through P2P streaming in the seamless D-MAC protocol, a ATMT (Asynchronous Traffic Multi-hop Transmission) technology is proposed and analyzed. In this system, a WiMedia ATMT D-MAC bridge transmits control and managing information to various sensors and instruments, from a central integrated ship area network station. For this technology, a time slot allocation scheme for WiMedia asynchronous traffic and a multi-hop resource reservation scheme are combined to evaluate the performance of each scheme. From simulation results, the proposed ATMT scheme enhances performances in viewpoints of N-screen asynchronous data latency and throughput, compared to the conventional WiMedia D-MAC system.
Generating Method of an Unambiguous Correlation Function for AltBOC Signal Tracking

The autocorrelation of an alternative binary offset carrier (AltBOC) signal provides an improved positioning accuracy because of its narrow main-peak. However, The AltBOC signal has a disadvantage that the autocorrelation of the AltBOC signal has multiple side-peaks which incur a severe positioning error. In this paper, we propose a generating method of an unambiguous correlation function for AltBOC signal tracking. Specifically, we first obtain symmetric partial correlation functions, and subsequently, we obtain an unambiguous correlation function by combining them. In numerical results, it is confirmed that the proposed correlation function provides better tracking error standard devation (TESD) performances comparing with the conventional correlation functions.
Cluster-Based Multi-Channel Algorithm in SAN Environments

Ship Area Network(SAN) can monitor the status of ship in real time and minimize the maintenance costs by connecting various devices to the network. In particular, among researches on SAN, Wireless Sensor Network using sensor nodes that is low-cost, low-power, and multifunctional has a number of advantages. In this paper, we propose cluster-based multi-channel algorithm considering the energy efficiency in wireless sensor network in a ship. The proposed algorithm shows the result of improvement of throughput and energy efficiency, because it reduces interference between clusters by using channel allocation algorithm that is distributed and dynamic.
Electrochemical Characteristics in Sea Water of Al-3%Mg Arc Spray Coating Layer for Corrosion Protection with Sealing Treatment

Arc thermal spray coating using Al-3%Mg thermal spray wire was carried out to prevent steel from corrosion damage under the marine environment. Post-sealing was applied to Al-3%Mg spray coating treatment using organic/inorganic composite ceramics in order to improve the corrosion resistance of the as-sprayed coating. The results of various electrochemical experiments with sealing treatment indicated that the improvement in corrosion resistance was observed due to low current density in all applied potential range during anodic and cathodic polarization experiments. Futhermore, the natural potential measurement exhibited severe potential fluctuation due to influence of micro-crack presence on the surface of sealed thermal spray coating layer. In addition, the sealed layer was easily eliminated during anodic polarization. Nevertheless, Al-3%Mg spray coating layer improved corrosion resistance by sealing treatment because the sealed coating efficiency was determined to be 92.11%, indicating the exterior environment barrier effect which is based on the Tafel analysis.
