Identification Algorithm for Up/Down Sliding PRIs of Unidentified RADAR Pulses With Enhanced Electronic Protection

Success in modern war depends on electronic warfare. Therefore, It is very important to identify the kind of Radar PRI modulations in a lot of Radar electromagnetic waves. In this paper, I propose an algorithm to identify Linear up Sliding PRI, Non-Linear up Sliding PRI and Linear Down Sliding PRI, Non-Linear Down Sliding PRI among many Radar pulses. We applied not only the TDOA(Time Difference Of Arrival) concept of Radar pulse signals incoming to antennas but also a rising and falling curve characteristics of those PRI`s. After making a program by such algorithm, we input each 40 data to those PRI`s identification programs and as a result, those programs fully processed the data in according to expectations. In the future, those programs can be applied to the ESM, ELINT system.
Detection Performance Improvement of STDR/SSTDR Schemes Using Sign Eliminator

This paper proposes an advanced detection technique for cable fault by eliminating the sign of reference signal in STDR(sequence time-domain reflectometry) and SSTDR(spread-spectrum time-domain reflectometry). The proposed fault-detection technique can eliminate the reference signal more effectively than the conventional one since the sign detector can approximately recover the distorted reference signal by cable and connector, and consequently, can detect the reflected signal by fault more effectively than the conventional one. Especially, it is shown that the error rate of proposed technique can be significantly lower than the conventional one in the case of far fault simulation.
Multipath Matching Pursuit Using Prior Information

Compressive sensing can recover an original sparse signal from a few measurements. Its performance is affected by the number of non-zero elements in the signal. The knowledge of partial locations of non-zero elements can improve the recovery performance. In this paper, we apply the partial location knowledge to the multipath matching pursuit. The numerical results show it improves the signal recovery performance and the channel estimation performance in the ITU-VB channel.
Study of Efficient Device Discovery Method for Fast Connection in Wi-Fi Direct

Wi-Fi Direct standard technology has been widely deployed on the recently manufactured products such as smart phone, smart monitor, TV, set-top box, and gaming console, and it was published from Wi-Fi Alliance with the name of Wi-Fi Peer-to-Peer Technical Specifications (v1.4, 2014) for direct connection on the wireless communication environment. However, the connection process of this standard needs 5 to 10 seconds so it can lead to user`s inconvenience as well as long delay for connection. From the focus of that this problem was derived from long discovery process composed of Scan and Find, as a result, the proposed scheme on this paper modified and adapted Scan and Find processes with reassembling steps of them for reducing the connection delay. In addition, the analysis and experiments were progressed for the evaluations of the proposed scheme.
Effective ToA-Based Indoor Localization Method Considering Accuracy in Wireless Sensor Networks

We propose an effective ToA-based localization method considering accuracy in indoor environments. The purpose of the localization system is to estimate the coordinates of the geographic location of target device. In indoor environments, accurately estimating the location of a target device is not easy due to various errors. The accuracy of wireless localization is influenced by NLOS errors. ToA-based localization measures the location of a target device using the distances between a mobile device and three or more base stations. However, each of the NLOS errors along a distance estimated from a target device to a base station is different because of dissimilar obstacles. To accurately estimate the target`s location, an optimized localization process is needed in indoor environments. In this paper, effective ToA-based localization method process is proposed for improving accuracy in wireless sensor networks. Performance evaluations are presented, and the experimental localization system results are proved through comparisons of various localization methods with the proposed methods.
Session Management Scheme for Supporting User Mobility in a IP-Based Convergence Network

This paper proposes a user mobility management scheme which supports seamless service even if a user changes his accessing terminal in service in IP-based convergence network. Most of ongoing researches concerning mobility management as well as the existing mobility schemes have been focused to support terminal mobility. It is limited to support a variety of mobility types such as user mobility. The proposed scheme uses the mapping relationship between UID(User Identifier), user specific identifier and TID(Terminal Identifier), specific terminal identifier and forms packet address with user specific permanent 3 layer address for session continuity in case of user mobility. We numerically analyze and compare handover signaling cost between the existing user mobility scheme and the proposed scheme. The result shows that the proposed scheme has lower handover signaling cost than the existing one, .
Enhancing RCC(Recyclable Counter With Confinement) with Cuckoo Hashing

According to rapidly increasing of network traffics, necessity of high-speed router also increased. For various purposes, like traffic statistic and security, traffic measurement function should performed by router. However, because of the nature of high-speed router, memory resource of router was limited. RCC proposed a way to measure traffics with high speed and accuracy. Additional quadratic probing hashing table used for accumulating elephant flows in RCC. However, in our experiment, quadratic probing performed many overheads when allocated small memory space or load factor was high. Especially, quadratic requested many calculations in update and lookup. To face this kind of problem, we use a cuckoo hashing which performed a good performance in update and loop for enhancing the RCC. As results, RCC with cuckoo hashing performed high accuracy and speed even when load factor of memory was high.
Virtual Network Mapping Algorithm for Minimizing Piecewise Linear Cost Function

Development of Internet has been successfully inspired with extensive deployment of the network technology and application. However, increases in Internet usage had caused a lot of traffic overload in these days. Thus, we need a continuous research and development on the network virtualization for effective resource allocation. In this paper, we propose a minimal cost virtual network mapping algorithm using Piecewise Linear Cost Function. We exploited an algorithm with Linear Programming and D-VINE for node mapping, and Shortest Path Algorithm based on linear programming solution is used for link mapping. In this way, we compared and analyzed the average cost for arrival rate of VN request with linear and tree structure. Simulation results show that the average cost of our algorithm shows better efficiency than ViNEyard.
Development of Smart Energy Profile(SEP) for Integrate Energy Storage System(ESS) at Smart Home

Due to changes in the energy environment, it`s very popular to introduce the solar energy at home. More effective energy management is achieved together with an energy storage system(ESS). The electricity generated by solar can be used effectively to achieve the peak cut and price reduction. In this paper, we developed Smart Energy Profile(SEP) to make an ESS as a component of home energy management system(HEMS) cooperating with home network. First, we defined the functions equipped on the ESS and then developed a standard-based protocol to achieve compatibility between products. Our main contribution is to establish the foundation to introduce the HEMS at home.
Sea-Experiment Test of a Shipborne Ad-Hoc Network (SANET) for Maritime VHF Digital Data Communications

Several VHF bands for the use in analog communications has been changed to those for the use in new maritime digital communications by WRC-12. ITU-R M. 1842-1 has been also standardized, recommending the characteristics of maritime digital communication systems. In addition, a Shipborne Ad-hoc Network (SANET) has been introduced by IMO in order to provide ships, which cannot be connected to a shore directly, with maritime digital data exchange services with the help of ad-hoc communication. In this paper, several functionalities of the SANET, including channel access, route determination to a shore, and data exchange, are verified via sea trials. It is expected that the SANET can be applicable to collecting and analyzing maritime information, facilitating the entry and departure of vessels, and the communication infrastructure of e-navigation.
Design of Beamforming Scheme Using Single RF Chain Based on SPA Antenna

In this paper, we design and implement SPA (Switched Parasitic Antenna) antenna which can control its beampattern using multiple parasitic elements. By applying SPA antenna to wireless communication system and implementing beamforming scheme, we show that SPA antenna can be used to improve the performance of wireless communication systems. SPA antenna consists of a single active antenna and multiple parasitic elements around the active one, and can control its beampattern by switching the parasitic elements. Using this characteristic of the SPA antenna, it is possible to impelemtent beamforming technique with single RF chain, which enables to design low cost, low complexity and low power wireless communication systems. In order to verify the beamforming gain, we measure and analyze the system level performance, such as SNR, PER, and throughput.
PAPR Reduction Scheme Using Selective Mapping in GFDM

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has high peak to power ratio (PAPR). High PAPR makes problems such as signal distortion and circuit cost increasing. To solve the problemsm several PAPR reduction methods have been proposed. However, synchronization and orthogonality in OFDM systems may be a limitation to reduce latency for 5G networks. Generalized frequency division multiplexing (GFDM) is one of the possible solutions for asynchronous and non-orthogonal systems, which are more preferable to reduce the latency. However, multiple subsymbols in GFDM result in more superposition in time domain, GFDM has higher PAPR. Selective mapping (SLM) is one of PAPR reduction techniques in OFDM, which uses phase shift. The PAPR of GFDM SLM is compared to conventional GFDM and OFDM SLM in terms of PAPR reduction enhancement via numerical simulations. In addition, the out-of-band performance is analyzed in the aspect of asynchronous condition interference.
Access Point Selection Algorithm for Densely Deployed IEEE 802.11 WLANs

In the IEEE 802.11 Wireless LAN environment, the common Access Point (AP) selection of the existing terminal is based on signal strength. However, the signal strength-based AP selection method does not ensure an optimal data rate. Recently, several AP selection methods to solve this problem have been suggested. However, when we select AP, these have a latency problem and don`t consider dense environments of AP. In this paper, we confirm the problem of the conventional AP selection about the signal strength and the throughput through the actual measurement, and propose algorithm that selects AP by scoring link speed and wireless round trip time to compensate the problem. Furthermore, the proposed AP selection algorithm through the actual experiment proves the improved performance as compared with the existing methods.
