A Study on the Dynamic Behavior Characteristics of Steel Column Base using Energy Absorbtion High Strength Bolt

Column base is very important part of steel structure because it transmits load to foundation in structure. Column base which is used frame construction in the inside and outside of the country is distributed into exposed-type, concrete encased and imbeded-type. Exposed-type column base is most profitable, if consider reuse and recycle of elements first of all. In this study, we proposed a new style exposed-type column base improved in performance for construction work and mechanical performance.

Laminated composite plates have shown their superiority over metals in applications requiring high specific strength, high specific modulus, and so on. Therefore, they have used in various industry. However, they have poor resistance to impact compared to typical metal materials. To resolve this problem by many researchers for a variety of studies have been attempted. This study investigates characteristic of impact behavior of laminated composite plates due to initial stress. Using finite element program which involved the indentation law, we investigate characteristic of impact behavior of laminated composite plates due to initial stress.
A Study on Uniaxial Tensile Stress of Tensioned Membrane

Membrane materials are very flexible, thus wrinkling, uniaxial state, can be occurred. The wrinkling are due to lots of various factors as eccentric force, construction errors, and fabrication errors. These wrinkled membrane elements are in status of uniaxial stress. In the paper, a method which be able to check the wrinkling is proposed. The stress-deformation analysis of membrane structures for given external load will be carried out, and here the membrane elements are regarded as wrinkled state if the principal stress 2 is smaller than 0. With proposed method, two existed construction examples, Suwon auditorium and Okinawa 75 Expo, are analyzed.
Development of Efficient Analytical Model for a Diagrid Mega-Frame Super Tall Building

Among structural systems for complex-shaped tall buildings, diagrid system is widely used because of its structural efficiency and beauty of form. Recently, mega frame is favorably employed as a suitable structural system for skyscrapers because this structural system has sufficient stiffness against the lateral forces by combination of mega members which consist of many columns and girders. Diagrid mega frame system is expected to be promising structural system for future super tall buildings. However, it takes tremendous analysis times and engineer`s efforts to predict the structural behavior of tall buildings applied with diagrid mega frame system because the diagrid mega frame structure has significant numbers of elements and nodes. Therefore, efficient analytical method for all buildings applied with diagrid mega frame system has been proposed in this study to reduce the efforts and time required for the analysis and design of diagrid mega frame structure. To this end, an efficient modelling technique using the characteristics of diagrid mega frame structures and an efficient analytical model using minimal DOFs by the matrix condensation method were proposed in this study. Based on the analysis of an example structure, the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed method have been verified by the comparison between the results of the proposed method and the conventional method.
A Study on the Regulation Plan of Evacuation Facilities Based on the Consciousness of Cinema User

The purpose of this paper is to provide a suggestion regarding how to make systematically improve the evacuation facilities of the cinema which is a large indoor space and utilizing by a numerous people. For the first, as a method of study, an analyzed on researching documentary recorders which are concerned with building codes regarding the evacuation facilities of cinema is made, and Secondary, carried out a survey of questionnaire for finding what the most audiences` idea regarding evacuation facilities of the cinema while they are utilizing the facilities, and analyzed the information. In the focus of the users, the result of analyzation reveals that as the item of practical facilities such as width and number of exit ways from viewer seats, width of corridors are highly suggested to improve practical system.
Material Properties of ETFE Membrane under Various Temperature

It is needed to investigate the material properties of ETFE foil under various temperatures because ETFE membrane foils have very thin depth and relatively high flexibility. In this paper, the material properties of ETFE membrane foil obtained from 3 testes under various temperatures are presented. First, the uniaxial test under four temperatures as -20
was performed. Each 5 specimen was tested and the yield stress, tensile strength and the Young`s modulus of the foils are obtained. Second, the creep testes under three temperatures as 25
, 3MP, 6MP and 9MP tension load was subjected to the specimen and the creep characteristics was investigated. Finally, the tear test under
was performed. It is concluded that the shape of stress-strain curve or general behaviors are similar with that of normal temperatures but the mechanical characteristics of ETFE membrane foils were affected by the temperatures, obviously.
Shape Creation of Spatial Structures using L-system Model

This study presents the shape creation process using L-system model of morphogenesis technique. In general, L-system model has been applied to represent the visualization of biological plant. But, this study proposes the shape generation process of L-system model to apply the architectural field. The L-system model consists of two parts such as string generation step and string analysis step. The string generation step shows the process for a string rewriting. This step requires alphabet, axiom and rules to generate a string. Also, the string analysis step gives the meaning in string to generate various forms. Especially, through the various application examples, we can find out the shape creation models for the space structures.
Finite Element Analysis for the Development of Node of Single Layered Freeform Structure

Due to architectural requirement, the attention of single layered freeform spatial structure is increasing nowadays. Because the node of single layered structure should resist the bending and axial forces simultaneously, it is necessary to develop a new proper type of node in detail. In this study, a new type of node for single layered freeform spatial structure was proposed. And the structural performance for the node was analytically evaluated using the commercial FEM software(ABACUS). As a result, a node prototype was selected and the proposed node showed good structural behaviors.
