Buckling Load of Single-layered Lattice Roof Structure Considering Asymmetric Snow Load

A single-layerd steel lattice roof, which has 50m span, was constructed. In order to figure out the realistic buckling load level, the structural analysis of this roof structure was performed especially by local snow load. Due to the characteristics of application of snow load, the load combinations of snow should be considered not only global area but also local part so that the critical buckling load could be observed as easy as possible. Geometrical imperfection was simulated to consider inaccurate shape of structure. And then nonlinear analysis were performed. Finally, this paper could investigate that the local snow load with geometrical imperfection decreased the level of buckling load significantly.
Evaluation of Vibration Control Performance of Outrigger Damper System for Tall Buildings Subjected to Wind Loads

Recently, the concept of damped outrigger system has been proposed for tall buildings. But, structural characteristics and design method of this system were not sufficiently investigated to date. In this study, the dynamic response control performance of outrigger damper has been analyzed. To this end, a simplified analysis model with outrigger damper system has been developed. An artificial wind of 1000 seconds with 0.1 second time steps was generated by using a Kaimal spectrum. Analysis results show that outrigger damper system is more effective up to 20-23% in the control of dynamic response compared to conventional outrigger system. The increase of outrigger damper capacity usually results in the improved control performance. However, it is necessary to select that proper stiffness and damping values of the outrigger damper system because, the outrigger damper having large capacity is result in heavy financial burden.
Status and Direction of Development on the 3D Printing Technology for BRP(Building Rapid Printing)

A study on BRP(Building Rapid Printing) technology is in an initial stage although general 3d printers are being developed in a great speed and with fruitful outputs. Even some laboratories in advanced countries have difficulties in their research due to many technological restrictions and have not produced a practical output yet. This paper proposed distinct directions in which the research of this aera should be developed and this manifested four areas - printing speed, reinforcing tech, material tech and nozzle tech and those areas were proposed with concrete development alternatives and objects.
Structural Characteristics Evaluation Considering Construction Circumstances of Cheomseongdae

Cheomseongdae is the masonry stone structure with the cultural and historical values. But, this structure has the various damages such as cracks, gaps, slope variations and ground subsidence. So, the interests for the safety security in the structural parts have been increased. Therefore, this study performs the structural modelling which considers the several damage cases, and then evaluates the structural behavior characteristics through the discrete element analysis. Especially, this study checks the swelling and displacement gap of the whole structure and the separation between the neighboring members.
Ambient Vibration Measurement of Buildings Horizontal Vibration Using a Mobile Phone Application

The cases of conducting the vibration measurement using the mobile phone with regard to the building`s horizontal vibration are very rare in Korea and foreign countries. Therefore, this study analyzed the horizontal vibration nature of the building using the mobile phone targeting 5 tall buildings, and reviewed about the applicability of the mobile phone vibration measuring instrument through the comparison/verification with the data of the existing vibration measuring instrument. The peak of the measured time series waveform was measured clearly and it showed a similar value to the existing natural frequency.
Structural Performance Evaluation of Joint between PHC Pile and Steel Tube Column

This paper presents a foundation pile to steel column connection that can resist large magnitude of moment and that can be easy installed. The developed joint has spherical shape and it is given the name HAT joint to mean Hallow half-sphere steel joint. Four types of HAT joints are developed. Namely, H-type, T-type, P-type and K-type. In this paper I will talk about the performance assessment of T-type(Tube Column) and P-type(Pile Column) of HAT joints with finite element analysis and experiment on a full scale model is presented.
Numerical Study on Fire Performance of Hollowcore Slabs

Numerical model on precast prestressed concrete (PC) hollowcore slabs using 11.3 mm diameter 7-wire stand was developed based on finite element analysis. In order to validate the modelling, previous experiment results with respect to prestressed solid concrete slabs were used and compared throughout the course of fire exposure. In addition to, the fire performance of hollowcore slabs with different aggregate types, moisture contents and compressive strength of concrete was investigated. As a result, it can be seen that the type of aggregates and moisture contents used in hollowcore slabs can affect the fire performance as well as temperature developments.
Experimental Study on the Structural Performance of Hybrid Friction Damper

Various hybrid dampers have been developed as increasing tall buildings in Korea. To minimize the installment space and cost, the new hybrid friction damper was developed using friction components. It is composed of two one-nodal rotary frictional components and a slotted bolted frictional connection. Because of these components, hybrid friction damper can be activated by building movements due to lateral forces such as a wind and earthquake. In this paper, displacement amplitude dependency tests were carried out to evaluate on the structural performance and the multi-slip mechanism of the hybrid damper. Test results show that the multi-slip mechanism is verified and friction coefficients are increasing as displacement amplitudes are increasing.
