Experimental Analysis of A Preflex Railway Bridge Under Random Train Loads

This research analyzed dynamic responses of the preflex railroad bridge. Vertical deflection and acceleration induced by operating train loads and test train loads were measured. Deflection of bridge by train traveling satisfies deflection limitation regulation (L/800) about the concrete bridge, but compare with UIC standard, vibration acceleration happened fairly greatly. Also test result show that acceleration receives greatly effect about the speed than deflection. It must discuss about vibration acceleration problems for speed elevation hereafter.
Vibration Control of Wind Response of Tall Building Using TLD and MTLD

Serviceability of buildings is affect by excessive acceleration experienced at the top floors in wind storms that may cause discomfort to the occupants. Tuned liquid damper(TLD) and multiple tuned liquid damper(MTLD) are passive control devices that consists of rigid tank filled with liquid to suppress the vibration of structures. This TLD and MTLD are attributable to several potential advantages - low costs; easy to install in existing structures; effective even for small-amplitude vibrations. In this paper, the behavior of TLD and MTLD are investigated analytically and wind tunnel test of high-frequency force balance.
Modeling of Dynamic Loads Due to Pedestrian Walking

Walking loads are influenced by various parameters so that they need to be measured considering such parameters. Walking frequency(rate) is experimentally investigated as the most important parameter in determining the walking load expressed with dynamic load factor. This study focuses on the derivation of continuous walking load-time functions at any walking frequency ranging from 1.30Hz to 2.70Hz. Experiments were conducted to obtain time-histories of walking loads at the increment of 0.1Hz, which are decomposed into harmonic loads by the Fourier transformation. The polynomial load-time functions are proposed representing the relationship between harmonic coefficients and walking frequencies, thereby easily formulating walking load-time histories for dynamic load factor with various walking frequencies.
A Study on the Nonlinear Structural Analysis of Barrel Vault-Typed Membrane Roof Structures Considering the Orthotropic Material

Membrane structures, a kind of lightweight soft structural system, are used for spatial structures. The material property of the membrane has strong axial stiffness, but little bending stiffness. Therefore membrane structures are unstable structures initially. These soft structures need to be introduced initial stresses first because of its initial unstable state, and it happens large deformation phenomenon. To find the structural shape after large deformation caused by initial stiffness introduced, we need the shape analysis considering geometric nonlinearity in structural design procedure In this study, we analyze the soft spatial structures by the NASS which is the program for nonlinear analysis. The analytic model is a roof membrane structures of Barrel Vault-Type. We have done the shape analysis and the stress-deformation analysis considering the orthotropic material, and then study the safety.
State-of-art on Its Application and Errors in Pushover Analysis of Building Structures

The pushover analysis is becoming a popular tool for seismic design of building structures. In this paper the state-of-art on static nonlinear analysis of building structures is presented with the emphasis on the effects of analysis parameters; i. e., lateral load patterns, modeling of members, and analysis computer programs. The analysed results may have variation even if a same structure is analysed. This paper is to investigate how large the variation is and what the main causes of the variation are. The difference of analysed results, the resultant variation of lateral story shear force and flexural strength of structural members are discussed. The pushover analysis procedure are routinely used in the seismic design of building structures, but some problems must yet be clarified, such as the effects to evaluate the parameters of analysis on the basis of a lateral load patterns and modeling of members.
