Strength Experimental Study on Precast Column-R.C. Foundation Anchor Joint Subjected to Cyclic Horizontal Loading

This paper experimentally evaluates the strength characteristics of precast column-R.C. foundation anchor joint subjected to the cyclic horizontal load. The study presents differences in accurate stress transfer path and destruction mechanism between the concrete structural body applying the precast column-R.C. foundation anchor joint and the concrete structural body applying the steel joint. the result from width load experiment on reinforcing steel under the cyclic horizontal load provides the necessary minimum insertion length to construct the precast column-R.C. foundation anchor joint. This study also presents the accurate stress transfer path and destruction mechanism on the anchor joint th meet the customer's requirements, comparing stress transfer path and destruction mechanism provided by the experiment and those provided by the product manual. Eventually, this study presents all the necessary fundamental data to provide the construction design with accurate number of reinforcing steel, diameter of the steel, fixation length of the steel, etc. to build the optimum precast concrete column.

A Study on the Establishment Feature and the Development of Large Space Buildings in Korea

For the large space buildings since 1960s in Korea spanned more than 30m, the establishment feature and the development process were examined. As the Results, physical facilities with 40-70m span were mainly established in 1980s-1990s, but large scale convention centers have been establishing after 2000s as the used of large space buildings are varied. Also, a space frame has been generally used in 1980s while the unique structural shapes were builded in the early age(1960s), the structural design with concerns a form and using various structural systems have been attempting after 2000s.
Mechanical Characteristic Test of Architectural ETFE Film Membrane

ETFE is the abbreviation of Ethlene Tetra Fluoro Ethlene, a sort of colorless and transparent granules. The advantage of ETFE film has chemical resistance, anti-stick property, very lightly material. The thickness of ETFE film is used to from 50
and have superior ability of daylight transmission and elongation, while the strength is lower than of fabric membrane. The tensile strength of ETFE film changes from 40Mpa to 60Mpa and the tensile strain at break can get to about 300-400%. The mechanical characteristic test of ETFE film is described in this paper. The tensile strain at break, the tensile strength and the stress-strain curve are obtained from the test. And then it was analyzed stress-strain characteristic by temperature and mechanical characteristic by cycling load.
Experimental Study on Natural Period for Arch Structure with Column

The previous studies for dynamic behavior of spatial structure have been zoomed in on roof structure by numerical analytic method. But the roof structure of real spatial structures is supported by lower structure as column and wall. So, when earthquake is occurred, it is predicted that dynamic behavior of roof structure is affected by lower structure. Therefore, on this study, natural period characteristics of arch structures are analyzed according to section, length and the modulus of elasticity of brass column and polycarbonate column and additional mass of roof structure by the scale-down model of arch structure as the most simple structure of spatial structures. The changes of natural periods are generally alike. But, when Polycarbonate column is connected to roof structure, the change of natural period for change of section is relatively large. That means that change of section and section and length of column and additional mass of roof structure have less influence on change of stiffness because the modulus of elasticity of brass is relatively large.
Inelastic Nonlinear Analysis of Structures with Under -Tension System

This study presents geometric nonlinear and material analysis of under-tension structure using Total Lagrangian and Updated Lagrangian method. In the regard, the under-tension system enables the load of upper part to carry to the end of beam by pre-tensional force in cable. The under-tension system on lower part of the structure is applied in order to reduce the deflection and size of member. This study is performed with conforming of the effect by pretension value in the cable and applying loading. Dead and Live loads are supposed to apply nodal on the top member. The member force and deflection of the structure are with MIDAS and ADINA.
