The purpose of this study is to provide by locating various information sources in illuminating engineering and its related field. The proportion that illumination forms in the total electric power consumption takes up to 18%. For the development of new energy-saving lighting products, it Is indispensable to find out and use related technical information. The result of systematic survey of various information sources will be helpful for the researchers and librarians engaged in the field of illuminating engineering.
A Study on Library OPAC Services based on WWW

WWW having the characters of hypertext, multimedia, GUI, etc. has evolved as the leading service of Internet since the early 1990s. It's very useful to combine WWW echnologies and OPAC service in the aspects of users and library. This paper describes he overview of WWW and the Library OPAC services based on WWW. After comparing between Telnet and WWW, author will talk about the advantages and disadvantages of Library OPAC services based on WWW.

Export system using artificial intelligence give the technology for the varied library user instruction. Expert system showing problem solving process give educational effectives. In this paper, expert system are reviewed to discuss the application possibility in education and the model of intelligent tutoring system(ITS) applying artificial intelligence is presented.

I had a chance to learn about grants made by British Library Research and Development Department in London and the Council on Library Resources in Washington in my studies designed to produce an institutional vision of supporting research and development in the field of library and information science in Japan. In this article, I have tried to elucidate contributions of the two agencies to the librarianship and research communities, reviewing their histories, management process and some features of research areas which meet their standards of providing grants.
