Theses and Dissertation(TD) have been considered one of valuable scholarly resources, while there have existed some limitations to collect, organize, and provide them. The purpose of this study is to investigate users' perception on six TD services from five institutions and to propose improvement strategies. Six TD services includes National Library, National Assembly Library, RISS, dCollections, NDSL, and Council of Theses and Dissertation Common Use. Based on the survey results from 151 users, the findings of this study identified that National Assembly Library and RISS were preferred by users. In addition, users preferred keyword, full text, department, abstract, table of contents, as well as title and author over other bibliographic information. More importantly, users needs were placed on whether specific TD services provide full text or not. In case that is not possible to provide full text, users have a preference for full text link information. As a result, in order to improve the TD services, service promotion activities, diverse access points, and full text provision are desirable.

DOI : 10.1633/JIM.2009.40.1.069
The biggest paradigm of the latest telecommunications is ubiquitous computing. It is a technology basis to realize ubiquitous society that would affect social, economical and cultural industries with positive influence. However, there is a simultaneous concern that the approach to ubiquitous society may violate one's privacy. Therefore, the existence of legal and technological regulation would be the biggest obstacle in further RFID technology and industry dissemination. Also, in business side, they must invest with enormous expense and technology if technological method is only approached for the solution. As in the research, 8 RFID applications, application process and inspection items and 85 appraisal list of "An impact assessment for the privacy protection in RFID applications" developed by P. K. Han(2006), will be used as an indicator to measure RFID privacy impact assessment. In addition, it is to develop RFID privacy impact assessment index by applying objective data with survey of applied specialists. This would provide a data with feasibility and reliability to RFID related companies and able to utilize policy making on RFID private data. In addition, it is expected to contribute as an efficiency tool for individual data to build basis of ubiquitous society.

With development of the internet, internet shopping is taking its place as one of digitalization industries transcending time and space beyond the scope of commercial activities as the means of goods sales and purchase. We studied about the relations of customer value, environment of internet shopping mall, customer satisfaction and loyalty. Customer value is customers' subjective evaluation, which is formed after their purchasing and consuming. Customer satisfaction can be characterized as post-purchase evaluation of product quality given pre-purchase expectations. Customer loyalty is a potentiality or ensure of durative relationship between customer and enterprises. Customer satisfaction functions as an antecedent of customer loyalty, while customer value does customer satisfaction. It prevents customer churn and consolidates retention, thereby constituting an important cause of customer loyalty. This study shows that customer value, environment of internet shopping mall and customer satisfaction are each found to have a direct effect on customer loyalty. The results provide empirical support for relation between customer satisfaction and loyalty. To increase customer satisfaction and customer loyalty in internet shopping mall is the primary purpose of this study. We believe that only high quality based customer programs accompanied by well designed loyalty programs can be effective in increasing customer retention.

Journal of Information Management, volume 40, issue 1, 2009, Pages 217~234
DOI : 10.1633/JIM.2009.40.1.217
In computer-based virtual lab, a bioscience researcher who wants to obtain bio information first uses a biodiversity-related database to retrieve information on species, ecology and distribution of an organism. The researcher also needs to access gene/protein databases such as GenBank or PDB to find information on the organism's genetic sequence and protein structure. Furthermore, the researcher should search for academic papers containing the information on the organism so that his research is based on comprehensive and accurate information. This series of activities often undermines research efficiency as it takes a lot of time and causes inconvenience on the part of researchers. To solve such inconvenience, we analyzed various methods for integrated search and chosen schema integration. In addition, we analyzed each databases and extracted metadata for designing schema integration. This paper introduces a biological information retrieval system(BIRS) using schema integration and it's interface that will increase research efficiency for bioscience.
