A Study on the Effective Application of the Project Finance to the Korean Private Infrastructure Projects

For the successful performance of a private infrastructure project, an effective project financing is indispensable through various domestic/overseas sources. This study explains the concept of the private infrastructure development and investigates its current status in Korea. In addition, the details of the changed environment for the project finance under the newly enacted 'Private Investment Act' are compared in an analytical manner to those under the previous law. Finally, it discusses the problems that still remain and recommends the remedies available for the better financing environment.
A Study on the Effective Decision-Making Support Model for Construction Duration by the Hypothetical Weather Simulation

The duration of construction in the construction works contains non-working days as well as working days. The duration is so relevant to climate that it should be calculated after fully considered about the regional climate in which construction processes. In most construction fields, however, there has been a frequent adjustment of duration because the field supervisor's experiences have decided non-working days indiscriminately without any accurate information about weather. Not only has that done great economic damages, but also caused many problems in interests among construction subject. So, in this study, we will analyse the elements of climate which has influences on the duration and implement the hypothetical weather simulation. By connecting the results of simulation with the duration of construction, we will propose the decision-making support model for the efficient calculation of duration when the field supervisor makes the projects schedule.
A Study on the Cost and Schedule Integration Model based on the Improvement of Work Packaging Mode

An integrated cost and schedule control is a noteworthy alternative of the separate control method which is commonly used in the domestic construction industry. In Korea, some cost and schedule integration models have been applied partly by construction managers. But, these models have not been customized yet because they did not reflect the characteristics of the domestic construction industry. This study investigates the characteristics of domestic integration models analyzed through interviews with experts who have the experiences in applying cost-schedule integration models. Based on these surveys, this study suggests the strategy for the improvement of work packaging model in the domestic construction industry.
Development Of a Project Sensitive Matrix Model For CM Fee Calculation

Construction Management(CM) has been introduced in Korean Construction Industry for its merits and benefits proven in International Construction Industries. However, many regulations, standards, manuals and details of practices considering its constituents and industry conditions have not yet to be developed. Of these, the standards and details of CM fee calculation should be developed in order to stretch its application toward public construction sectors as well as the private sectors. This research proposes CMFM(Construction Management Fee Model), a project sensitive matric CM fee model for CM fee calculation. The model calculates CM fees for modular services in a two by two matrix taking project phases on one dimension and CM services on the other.
The Modeling of the Element Breakdown Structure(EBS) Applicable to Construction Fields for the Integration of the Construction Information in Apartment

The drawing information takes the most essential part of construction information. The management of construction information through drawing information facilitates input, output and search process, thus helping maximize the usage of construction information by effectively sharing construction experience and drawing information. This paper shows how construction information can effectively used to increase the productivity of the construction process as a whole. Construction information was extracted and classified by the elements of building which are the basic and very end components of building, to accumulate information of each construction phase. Based on the result, the Element Breakdown Structure(EBS) was developed for the practical usage of construction information integration.
