Development of Learning Model for Knowledge Management in Construction Area

By its nature, software part of the construction industry such as engineering and so forth has been kept secret to outside, as it determines a company
competitiveness. As a result, construction field knowledge usually disappears with the end of a project. The objective of this study is to develop the knowledge management (BM) learning model tuned in to construction area in order to manage project-related knowledge and promote the knowledge management. This study presented a learning model for knowledge management in the construction field, with the aim to integrate a series of processes. The model is composed of EIP, EDMS, knowledge and failure cases management, CoP and e-Learning.
A Comparative Study on Domestic and Foreign the Follow-up Service of Temporary Equipment and Materials

The performance testing system of temporary construction equipment and materials are a previous inspect institution to produce only goods beyond the limited-performance, be certificated through a previous test, the purpose of which is to prevent an illegal goods from spreading abroad. The formal certification not only pass the test in an ordinary means but also isn't the term of validity on a certificated goods. Because of the above two reasons, an accident doesn't reduce, and a illegal goods become to be circulated. So, in this study, we analysis the problem of the follow-up service based on the formal certification and we suggest the improvement through comparative study on the follow-up of domestic and foreign.
A Study on the Actual Construction Database Modeling and Application for Commercial Buildings

Actual construction data are unsystematically handled and uselessly hoarded after completion of the project although actual construction data can be applied to the various works of the future projects. Many researches have been carried out by several engineers and scholars of construction firms and research institutes, but the level of the application is not plausible yet. The objective of this paper is to propose a web-based data model and application system for commercial buildings in order to enhance the usability of the actual construction data on line. The principal factors of commercial building project data and the user
requirements in various areas, such as planning, design, procurement and construction and so on are analyzed to implement the database structure of the proposed system. The application of resource Information focused on cost, manpower, equipment is included in the system, which is expected to enhances the usability of actual database application system compared with other researches proposed so far.
The flow of Temporary Facility Planning Information in High-rise Building Construction

The purpose of this study is to present a systemized flow of temporary facility(TF) planning information. The current TF planning tends to be established by subjective decision making of field workers. Therefore TF planning needs more systemized information flow to provide a reliable schedule. The study was implemented through interview with experts for reliable TF planning. The main contents of the study are as follows; 1) TF planning process model(IDEF0) are established. 2) Various information flow diagrams proposed to support TF planning decision-making. The study recommends that, as a future research, the computer system be developed for application of the information flow.
A Study on the Estimating Strategy for the Design Phase VE Consulting Fee

at the design phase and the effective design phase VE application, it is not sufficient to implement VE study at the design phase in the domestic construction industry. The method for estimating design phase VE consulting Fee regulated in current guideline and the insufficient incentive system according to the result of design phase VE application are major problems among the problems related to the roadblock of the active implementation Design phase VE. In this paper, firstly the current methods for estimating Engineering business consulting fee analogous to design phase VE and the domestic and foreign design VE consulting fee were examined, and detailed problems related to the method for estimating design VE consulting fee were indicated, and the Improvement direction were established. Secondly, the estimating strategy for the design phase VE consulting fee and the payment strategy of incentive according to the result of savings were proposed. Finally, the strategies were verified by interview with the experts.
A Model of the Risk Response Repeat Process in the Construction Project

Recently, a few major construction companies in Korea have a growing interests to the risk management system, and they are trying to apply it to their construction projects. However, the existing methodologies to be applied to the foreign public projects are not proper to the construction environments due to its adaptabilities, that has one time process and heavily depends on personal judgement. The purpose of this paper is to propose a risk response process in consideration of the residual risks, which would be more adaptable and practical in the construction environment, overcoming the current obstacles to be mentioned above. This process has systematic repeat process until the residual risks go down to the risk thresholds based on the efficiency of specific response strategy.
A Study on the Flaw Prevention Countermeasure of Crack in Apartment House Underground Parking Area

Recently all basement floor of apartment site have utilized as parking area to use efficiently space and to ensure lawful parking car figure. And the top of parking area has used as working vehicle's path and materials' carrying area during construction. Thus because crack and leakage status in underground parking area of under construction or completion building generate excessively not only performance of structure is diminished but also flaw repair cost is put in a lot of. And abroad confidence is diminish. So this study is intended to diminish flaw focus on investigation of under construction and completion fields through examine closely cause of crack and leakage status of apartment house underground parking area and prepare countermeasure with respect to design, construction and maintenance.
