At recently, Oil spill accident of large size oiler that happen domestic and outside the country is occured to social impact us as well as economical damage in sea environment. Also, because spread extent of pollution accident is reaching harbor, bay and close water areas, as necessity that traffic control ships are sea place. VTS is changing to concept that control space is magnified gradually. Our country is operated to 14 harbors which is control center. But abroad is operating coastal VTS that do main waterway and coastals to authority dimension. Therefore, necessity that traffic density of ship manages high coastals and ship traffic of waterway to our country is risen. This paper is execute sea traffic survey at Mokop sea areas and sea casualty occurs. It proposal that coastal VTS center field of most suitable and position of radar site.
A Study on the Development of the Module for Remote-Controlling Aids to Navigation

It is said to be very difficult to maintain the aids to navigation such as buoys end lighthouses due to their geographical characteristics. This paper, as a part task of the construction of aids to navigation control center, describes the method to make the module for remote-controlling lighthouses and buoys. We become to be able nor only to get informations such as the condition of lights and batteries, but also to control remotely the aids to navigation by using microwaves so as to maintain them in good condition.
Building of a Simulator for Analyzing Ship`s Collision Accidents

Vessel collision accidents have been investigated by means of questioning the persons involved and plotting manually the stated situation. But the repetitive plotting by hand can cause the investigator or to make some errors, and it can be connected to a wrong judgement. In this paper, we proposed a simulator for reconstructing and analyzing vessel collision accidents at sea, where the given situation is plotted automatically on it. We verified the validity of the system by applying it to some collision accidents.
Experimental Vibration Analysis of a Super-Structure Model Using Curve Fitting Method

It might be true that both experimental and analytic techniques have been developed in the vibration analysis end engineering. It could not be said, however, that the experimental method has been also developed as much as analytic method, such as Finite Element Method One of the reason is that computation time becomes longer and that the solution often diverges depending on the choice of initial value in solving nonlinear equation. The equation in experimental modal analysis is usually composed of the nonlinear term of natural frequency and modal damping ratio, and the linear one of equivalent stiffness. In this study, the nonlinear terms were solved first, and then the linear term was obtained. The experimental modal parameters were estimated, applying the developed experimental modal analysis curve-fitting method to the super-structure model. A Study on the Fabrication of the 4 Port In-Phase High Power Combiner

The broadband high power 3-way combiner was designed and fabricated for the digital TV repeater. To achieve increase of the bandwidth and the high power capability, Wilkinson type power divider was adopted in our research. First of all, Wilkinson type power divider of equal-split and unequal-split were combined, and the characteristics of the four port in-phase power combiner was simulated for each thickness of dielectric substrates. As the results of simulation, the power combiner fabricated by using dielectric substrate of 120 mil-thickness has the characteristics as follows: insertion loss of less than -651 dB, reflection coefficient of less than -13 dB, isolation among the output ports of less than -15 dB, and pose difference among the output ports of smiler than 13

Therefore, this power combiner was possible to improve the limit of microstrip line width due to high impedance, the problem of power loss due to interaction between strip lines in a high power combiner and narrow bandwidth simultaneously. Furthermore, making broadband and high power could be achieved since the fabricated 3-way combiner has good characteristics of insertion loss, the reflection coefficient, separation between ports, and phase difference.
Design of IMT-2000 Feedforward Digital Adaptive Linear Power Amplifier

Currently digital communication system adapt various digital modulation schemes. All these communication systems are required to cause the minimum interference to adjacent channels, they must therefore employ the linear power amplifiers. In respect to linear power amplifiers, there are many linearization techniques. Feedforward power amplifier represent very wide bandwidth and high linearization capability. In the feedforward systems overall efficiency is reduced due to the loss of delay line. In this paper, delay filter instead of transmission delay line adapted to get more high efficiency. Experimental results showed that ACLR has improved 17.04dB which is added 2.54dB by using the delay filter.
Vehicle Navigation using Carrier Phase of GPS/GLONASS

Nowadays, the combined land navigation system using GPS(Global Positioning System) and DR(Deduced Reckoning), etc. has been used. Although GPS is popular with the land navigation system, this is not useful for the kinematic positioning of the vehicles in the urban canyon because of its few satellites. Thus, this study deals with the kinematic positioning of the vehicles with the combined GPS/GLONASS(GLObal Navigation Satellite System) to compliment the drawbacks of GPS. So the kinematic positioning of the vehicles can be performed constantly by the combined GPS/GLONASS based on the high acquisition rate of data with the help of GLONASS despite of many obstacles and few satellites tracked in the test sites. Consequently, the combined GPS/GLONASS can be applicable to the control of traffic flow and the effective management of read system.
The Optimum Design of Impact Absorbing System for Spreader in System Variations

On this study, to develop the impact absorbing system for spreader, we operated the dynamic response for models of three types consisting of spring and oil damper by the finite element analysis. Also, in the three types of impact absorbing system, we set the restricted stroke of piston to the static variables and the optimum design was operated to have the minimum value of the reaction force for the impact. As the result, the direct model of two degree of freedom system has lowest value, the model of one degree of freedom system has higher value than that and the parallel model of two degree of freedom system has the highest value. And we studied the effect that the change of spring constant and damping coefficient affect to the reaction force and as the result of the optimum design, we found that reaction force has the lowest value in the each of models.
A Study on the Reduction of Over Head Crane′s Weight Considering Buckling, Vibration and Strength

In this study, structural optimum design was applied to the girder of magnet over head crane. The optimization was carried out using ANSYS Code for the deadweight of girder, especially focused on the thickness of its upper, lower, side and reinforced plates. The weight could be reduced up to around 15% with constraints of its deformation, stress, natural frequency and buckling strength. The structural safety was also verified by the buckling analysis of its panel structure. It might be thought to be very useful to design the conventional structures for the weight save through the structural optimization. Also this paper grasped the sensitivity influenced the design variables upon the objective function and the state variables.
Structural Behavior of the Buried flexible Conduits in Coastal Roads Under the Live Load

Soil-steel structures have been used for the underpass, or drainage systems in the road embankment. This type of structures sustain external load using the correlations with the steel wall and engineered backfill materials. Buried flexible conduits made of corrugated steel plates for the coastal road was tested under vehicle loading to investigate the effects of live load. Testing conduits was a circular structure with a diameter of 6.25m. Live-load tests were conducted on two sections, one of which an attempt was made to reinforce the soil cover with the two layers of geo-gird. Hoop fiber strains of corrugated plate, normal earth pressures exerted outside the structure, and deformations of structure were instrumented during the tests. This paper describes the measured static and dynamic load responses of structure. Wall thrust by vehicle loads increased mainly at the crown and shoulder part of the conduit. However additional bending moment by vehicle loads was neglectable. The effectiveness of geogrid-reinforced soil cover on reducing hoop thrust is also discussed based on the measurements in two sections of the structure. The maximum thrusts at the section with geogrid-reinforced soil cover was 85-92% of those with un-reinforced soil cover in the static load tests of the circular structure; this confirms the beneficial effect of soil cover reinforcement on reducing the hoop thrust. However, it was revealed that the two layers of geogrid had no effect on reducing the overburden pressure at the crown level of structure. The obtained values of DLA decrease approximately in proportion to the increase in soil cover from 0.9m to 1.5m. These values are about 1.2-1.4 times higher than those specified in CHBDC.
A Study on the Analysis of Domestic Shipboard Disaster

Recently, in the whole fields of industry including shipping business, the conception and importance of Human Factor is very highly and frequently emphasized. But the domestic crew disaster including injury and illness in our shipping business shows higher accident rate than other shipping countries. Therefore the developing of measures to prevent/reduce the accident is highly required as the marine accident including crew disaster causes enormous loss of property and human life in size and scale. But, because the domestic data regarding the crew accident are relatively insufficient and rule, the developing of those measures has many difficulties. Therefore, this study is to make the concerning data for the useful reference by showing the trend and current situation of crew accidents, assorted by the crew`s rank, type of the accident, injured part of the body, cause of the accident, type of ships and type of the works when the accident occurred, by using the each ocean-going shipping company`s recent 5 years(`95∼`99) data in korea.
Design for Information Retrieving Agent System for Ship Sale and Purchase

Although the number of site for ship sale and purchase are increasing year by year, we can not find the agent system for retrieving the necessary data automatically and efficiently. The object of this paper is to find the design structure of the intelligent agent systems by using wrapper technology. This paper is composed of two contents : design of retrieving system for agent and its application to ship sale and purchase. This paper will be evaluated in terms that its target domain is ship sale and purchase. In the result of the study, agent process is composed of reading URL, taking the source data, processing tag, pattern analysis, and storing the contents analysed.
Arab Sea Trade with the Far East and the Mediterranean in the Eighth and Ninth Centuries

The Sea road which is connected from the Gulf of Persia to Canton was completed by Arabs in the end of the eighth century. For the first time in history, the amount of goods by the sea route exceeds land route. In contrast with the Mediterranean, the Indian Ocean was a sea of peace. Its western shores were under Muslim control, thus we find in this age a great expansion of commerce on the Indian Ocean. We trace the sea route to China in use in the middle of the ninth century. Also we find out that the outstanding feature of the medieval Arab ship of Indian Ocean are two: the manner in which planks of the hull sewn together, not nailed; and the fore-and-aft set of the sails.
An Analysis of Consciousness of Crew on Shipboard Injury and Illness

Though, the disasters of shipboard crew have many types and aspects, most of them are caused by human elements, and the management and the regulations for the crew safety are other elements for the crew disaster. Accordingly, the analysis of the consciousness and understandings on crew`s safety management system is one of the important parts to reduce the accident. Therefore, this study made up the questionnaire and assorted the respond of shipping companies, ship`s officers and engineers including captains to our questionaries, and analyzed the results to pick out and find their consciousness on the crew disaster. And also, this study is to make proposals to prevent and reduce the accident.
