Target Positioning Error Analysis of Automatic Survey System

In this paper, we have described target positioning of automatic survey system. Target positioning error analysis shows target positioning errors are mainly dependent on the vertical angle of the triangle configured by target and two measurement points. Suggested target positioning error formula are confirmed by simulation using the Gaussian distribution.

Transmission of a tracked vehicle designed for multiple functions such as steering, gear-shifting, and braking is a core component of heavy vehicle to which the power is transferred based on combined technology of various gears, bearing, and fluid machineries. Robustness and durability of transmission, however, have been issued due to a large number of driving units and sub-components inside its body. Particularly, transmission housing is important structure which supports the transmission, and is made of aluminum alloy. Thus, structural robustness against such mechanical loading or vibration must be attained. Structural reliability evaluation through FEM analysis can save time and cost of the actual tests. In this study, structural evaluation is conducted on output housing of transmission, which is core component of tracked vehicle, using the simulation program. In addition, transmission dynamo test is performed to evaluate structural robustness of the output housing against the vibration which can be produced during the transmission operation.
A Study on the Design of Rifling Angle by Setting up an Idealized Rifling Force Curve

Rifling Force can be described with projectile velocity, gas pressure and rifling angle, etc. Under the same conditions, the character of the rifling angle decisively influences the rifling force. To reduce the harmful effect, locally distinct maximum of rifling force has to be avoided. The optimal design methodology of rifling angle curve had been developed by combined Fourier series and polynomial function. When it was tried newly to design the rifling angle curve, this design trial caused not to produce the lower rifling force than the existing design. Normally, the curve of the rifling angle is designed first, then the rifling force is set according to the rifling angle curve. However during the cause analysis, new design methodology was established to design the ideal rifling force curve before the rifling angle design. With this new methodology, the above optimal design method was analyzed and its limitation was confirmed.

In this research, items and contents of SONAR were derived from investigation of OMS/MP of previously-operated submarines and domestic and international references related to weapon system. Such items and contents were established in detail and were categorized into four separate groups after consulting system design experts and specialists in the field of SONAR's operation. Ultimately, based on wartime and peacetime scenario and operation concept of SONAR, RAM values were obtained through various methods using submarine-operating records and maintenance records for the past eleven years.

A Study to Efficiently Overcome GPS Jamming and GPS Spoofing by using Data Link System

These days many systems use the gps signal to get their own position. Because it's cheap and accurate and convenient. But, the strength of gps signal is very weak and can be easily interrupted by GPS jamming and GPS spoofing. Normally, fighter can use DME, TACAN, etc to correct their position error when GPS is not working. But, many aircraft which does not have those kinds of hardware need to pay additional cost to get it. In this paper, we propose how to overcome GPS jamming and GPS spoofing by only using data link system. The main purpose of this paper is to make the data link protocol to get an exact position information of own unit at gps error environment.
Research of Interopaeration Simulation between War Game Simulator and Communication Effect Simulator using HLA/RTI

Wargame simulators are widely used in the field of defence modeling and simulation. Because of increasing importance of communication effects on the warfare, the war game simulator is also required to reflect communication effects. One way to satisfy the requirement is the interoperation simulation between war game simulator and communication effect simulators. This paper shows the application of interoperation simulation between war game and communication effect simulators using HLA(High-Level Architecture)/RTI(RunTime Infrastructure). The war game simulator mainly deal with the engagement of troops and the troops communicate each other at the mission execution level. In the other hand, The communication effect simulator perform communication actions between the troops in the engineering level. Using the interoperation simulation, we can reflect the communication effects on the war game simulation. We show various applications of the interoperation simulation with the point of the war game and communication effect simulator. with a case study, we explain the interoperation simulation improves the reality and fidelity of the war game simulator and how the interoperation simulation can be applied to developing doctrines and real communication system.
A Temperature Analysis Study of Korea and its Neighbor Regions for Temperature Specification

This paper describes the results of a temperature analysis of Korea and its neighbor regions for temperature specification of weapon systems to be deployed in Korea, and introduces the concept of a standard deviation frequency of occurrence which represents a frequency of yearly occurrence. On the basis of this analysis, reasonable operational temperatures for the Korea weapon systems are recommended, and the regional frequency of yearly occurrence of temperatures worse than recommended operational temperatures in each country regions are presented.
A Study of Optimization Approach for GPS Anti-Jamming System's Integration on Military Aircraft Based on the Requirement of Capability

Global Positioning System(hereafter; GPS) is recently an essential element in the various navigation and weapon delivery systems of military aircraft. However, GPS is vulnerable to the jamming threats since its signal power is very weak. Therefore, ROK defense has been concerning how to resolve this issue and how to integrate these systems needed, and is trying to acquire the proper anti-jamming GPS system. This study is to provide several schemes against the jamming threats effectively. We propose the several processes to analyze the required capability and demonstrate the result's of modeling and simulations(hereafter; M&S) for this integration of military aircraft, and the mathematical programming model for system optimization of military aircraft anti-jamming GPS system on the basis analysis of M&S results which could be considered available budget and the project characteristic. These schemes will be helpful on proper acquisition of these systems and. We are looking forward to contributing to the integration of anti-jamming GPS system of ROK military aircraft.
Angle Estimation Error Reduction Method Using Weighted IMM

This paper proposes a new approach to reduce the target estimation error of the measurement angle, especially applied to the medium and long range surveillance radar. If the target has no maneuver and no change in heading direction for a certain time interval, the predicted angle of interacting multiple model(IMM) from the previous track information can be used to reduce the angle estimation error. The proposed method is simulated in 2 scenarios, a scenario with a non-maneuvering target and a scenario with a maneuvering target. The result shows that the new fusion solution(weighted IMM) with the predicted azimuth and the measured azimuth is worked properly in the two scenarios.
The Design & Analysis of Pulse Separation Device with Thermal Barrier Type for Dual Pulse Rocket Motor

The dual pulse rocket motor(DPRM) distributes the propellant energy effectively via pulse separation device(PSD) to improve the range and terminal velocity of the missile. There are two types of PSD such as bulk head type and thermal barrier type. A subscale thermal barrier type DPRM was designed, manufactured, and tested. The results showed good understanding of the characteristics of the PSD and will be applied to the design of the full scale DPRM.
