A Study on Dynamic Properties Estimation of On-Site Railroad Track

In this paper, train running test and lateral resistant force test are conducted before and after sprinkling the ballast stabilizer in order to investigate the dynamic behaviors and parameters of the railroad track. The measured results are used to confirm the effect of the stabilizer and to validate the numerical results. From this paper, it is known that the stabilizer used in this study has excellent effect on increasing the vertical rigidity and the lateral resistance, and some correction factors should be considered on masses and rigidities of the track components in order to calculate the vibration magnitude reasonably due to running train.
Railway System Model for Multi-Train Traffic Simulator

Railway companies have been faced with many changes in the railway environment. To cope immediately with the influence of environment and to improve productivity, an efficient train operation system and related core technologies must be introduced. The railway system is composed of large scale infrastructures and high-cost trains. Simulation method is one of core technologies and also efficient tool for planning and analyzing these kinds of complex system. In this research, we review basic simulation programming models and present a modeling for the elements of railway system such as rail-line infrastructure, train, time table and operational route. Additionally, some considerations on the development of multi-train traffic simulator for KyongBu-line are discussed.
Development on a Transmission Unit for a Plug Type Passenger Door

Since the plug type passenger door has two modes of motion, a power transmission unit must be capable of plug-in or plug-out mode, and sliding mode. Complex planetary gear train is proposed, which is composed of two 2K-H, I type planetary gear units. For the proposed complex planetary gear train, ranges of addendum modification coefficients which would not lead to interferences are analyzed, and optimal addendum modification coefficients among these ranges which generate the maximum efficiency are presented. Based on the results of analysis on interferences, efficiencies and torque ratios, the specifications for the complex planetary gear train were determined. It has been shown by tests of the complex planetary gear train manufactured that the gear train worked well with good agreements of analysis.
The Aqueous Corrosion Characteristics of Catenary Materials of Electric Railway System

Pure copper, Cu-1.1wt%Cd and ACSR(Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced) have been used as catenary materials of the electric railway system. Since these materials may be exposed to the corrosive environments like polluted air, acid rain and sea water, it is important to investigate the corrosion rates in various corrosive environments. The aqueous corrosion characteristics of catenary materials in aerated acid, neutral and alkali solutions were studied by using immersion corrosion tests, electrochemical measurements and analytical techniques. In order to examine corrosion characteristics according to the dissolved oxygen content, pH, chloride ion concentration ion, and the addition of Cd to Cu, a series of tests such as potentiodynamic polarization, a.c impedance spectroscopy and galvanic corrosion tests were carried out with these materials. Results showed that the addition of Cd to Cu and chloride ion in the solution have an adverse effects on the resistance to corrosion. Additionally, Galvanic currents between Al and steel wires of ACSR were confirmed by using ZRA(zero resistance ammeter) method.
Study on the Prediction Evaluation of Inner Noise Characteristics in Standardization EMU

Standardization EMU in comparison with the existing EMU has been largely changed the material and section profile of the structure as the Aluminium made. This study is analytically predicted the influence of inner noise in tunnel running when the above change is made.
