Prediction and Evaluation of Stiffness of Chevron Spring for Rail Vehicle

A chevron rubber spring is used in primary suspension system for rail vehicle. The chevron spring support the load carried and reduces vibration and noise in operation of rail vehicle. The computer simulation using the nonlinear finite element analysis program MARC executed to predict and evaluate the load capacity and stiffness for the chevron spring. The appropriate shape and the material properties are proposed to adjust the required characteristics of chevron spring in the three modes of flexibility. Also, several samples of chevron spring are manufactured and experimented. It is shown that the predicted values agree well the results obtained from experiment.
Review on the Dynamic Behavior of G7 High Speed Train(KHST) in the KTX Test Line

The dynamic behavior of high speed train is very important because of its safety and passengers' ride comfort. The railway vehicle is composed of many suspension components, such as 1st springs, 1st dampers, 2nd springs and 2nd dampers, that have an influence on the dynamic characteristics of high speed train. Also, the wheel/rail shapes and the track geometry affect the dynamic behavior of high speed train. This paper reviews the dynamic behavior of KHST in the KTX test line. The VAMPIRE program is used for this simulation. The simulation results are within the limits of safety criteria. Thus the KHST can operate safely at 350 km/h in the KTX test line.
Prediction of Bending Fatigue Life to Welding Parts of Rail on Slab Track

For the purpose of the effective maintenance of surface irregularities of rail, this paper investigates the rail service life to a bending fatigue failure of welding parts of rail on the slab track by the structures laboratory testing to derive S-N curves, a GTDAP(General Track Dynamic Analysis Program) to calculate the stresses and a modified Miner's rule to predict a fatigue life. The useful guides for maintenance of rail welded parts on the slab track are proposed in terms of a grinding period and the depth of rail surface irregularities. This study also proposed the guides for maintenance of rail welded part on the ballast track. The effects of fatigue service lives are compared one another.
Development for Systems Engineering Framework Model of Next Generation High Speed Railway Train

A high-speed rail system represents a typical example of large-scale multi-disciplinary systems, consisting of subsystems such as train, electrical hardware, electronics, control, information, communication, civil technology etc. The Systems Engineering, as a methodology for engineering and management of today's ever-growing complex system, must be applied to development of such systems. This paper presents systems engineering framework model to have to be applied to the systems engineering technology development task for the korean next-generation high-speed railway systems in progress and demonstrates data models and schema for computer-aided systems engineering software, RDD-100, for use in its development and management.
A Study on the Data Anti-collision using Time-domain Procedure on RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) System

In this paper, the method is suggested to prevent data collision or damage on RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) system, in case a reader reading multi-tag simultaneously, using binary-search algorithm and Time-domain anti-collision procedure at reader and tag, respectively. The RFID system is designed that Reader enable to communicate with Tag on 13.56MHz bandwidth which is ISM(Industrial Science Medical) bandwidth, antennas of Tag part are designed using MCRF335 Chip. When RF communication is achieved between reader and tag, in case that data is transmitted to reader pass through multiple tags simultaneously, a study on the anti-collision method for the situation that the data collision occurs is performed.
