Kim Kyung-Hee ; Kim Mi-Na ;
Journal of the Korean housing association, volume 16, issue 1, 2005, Pages 1~9
The purpose of this study is to scrutinize forefathers' standpoint on architectural planning by peering into their literature. Dongkukyisangkukjib which contains works about daily life of Lee Gyu-Bo, a great writer in the middle of Koryo, reveals well people of Koryo' thought on architecture, if we have a interest in a building space. The book holds his general viewpoint on architecture and documents about the remarkable houses he and his friends visited. Then we can know, through it, general thought on architecture of the upper classes in those days. Lee Gyu-Bo considered a house the other self of its owner and connected buildings with personality of their owner. 0 architectural process and architectural planning, buildings were shown variously by reflecting owner's value on architecture. Unlike Chosun era, people of Koryo prefer unlimited thinking to form or order. Therefore in construction especially such as a pavilion, there were many experimental tries which reflected owners' thought. Particularly we could estimate people of Koryo' conception of architectural design through a work of Lee Gyu-Bo, Saryunjungky, a document about a pavilion carrying four wheels, which describes concretely contents of architectural planning such as a planning of space, module, and intention.

The resident committee is a main board of the multi-family housing communities, which discuss and decide important matters regarding the multi-family housing management. So, the purpose of this study was to provide critical informations in order to revitalize the resident committee of multi-family housing. The research was conducted by surveys and interviews with residents and resident committee members. The major results were as follows : The resident committee members indicated that primary reason for them to volunteer as a committee member was because of the encouragement and recommendation of their neighbors. They were willing to be members of the resident committee but they were displeased by the lack of participation and training of some of the committee members. Resident committee members also pointed out that they had difficulties in fulfilling their roles. For one thing, they were not paid for their participation. Another problem was that there were several committee members who did not have knowledge of related laws and they gave themselves a negative evaluation, which told that they had lack of multi-family housing community management skills and knowledge. Training and education of the committee was essential in areas such as budget management, auditing, and damage control.

Park Chan-Don ;
Journal of the Korean housing association, volume 16, issue 1, 2005, Pages 55~63
The purpose of this study is to find a way of solving on parking problems at apartment complex through the trend analysis research of the parking demands according to the housing unit size. The subjects of this study are high-rise apartment complexes in Daegu city which are constructed within 10 years. The parking demand according to the housing unit size at apartment complexes had been surveyed every July for 4 years from 2000 to 2003. Specially, we knew that the parking demand of
below sized housing unit at apartment complex was exceeded architectural regulation of parking supply, and the parking demand of
over sized housing unit at apartment complex was kept within architectural regulation of parking supply. And, the estimating formula that can predict the future parking demand by the trend analysis according to the housing unit size at apartment complexes in Daegu city was gotten through this study. But, in order to get more accurate estimating formula, it should be based on data of funker research and investigation about apartment complexes and it should be studied continuously.
A Study on the appropriateness of Public Facilities Scale
Lee Jeong-Ho ;
Journal of the Korean housing association, volume 16, issue 1, 2005, Pages 65~72
With the changing consciousness of community people and the rising standard of living, there has recently been an emphasis on the creation of public facilities' new functions and their role as local community facilities. This changing trends are accordingly requiring a change in spatial structure of the public facilities. In this study, an analysis was conducted with 24 public facilities situated in the Buk-gu district of Daegu to identify the adequacy of their space scale after functional variation. The results of this study are summarized as follows. 1) The site area of public facilities has been being widened after functional variation since more spaces are needed to provide an outdoor resting space with community people, expand a parking space, and operate a community center. 2) The factors that had a direct effect on the change in the use of space are the reduced space for administrative work and the expanded scope of the community center's function. Specifically, the areas of activities for civil service and administrative work and for reserve forces have been reduced due to reduction of function, and floor division by each function group has been becoming stricter due to addition of a community center's function. 3) It was shown that in terms of the space for functions of public facilities, spaces for civil service and waiting have increased mostly after function variation. After functional variation, the scale of spaces for civil service and administrative work has been being planned within the range of
, regardless of the number of population to be covered by public facilities. 4) The space for public use is showing the greatest increase in public facilities which have been built after functional variation. The major factors seem to be the increased moving passages, the expanded convenient facilities for community people, and the increased convenient facilities for disabled. Facilities scale plans have been being made more systematically, compared to the conventional facilities.
