Personal Innovativeness Toward Housing in American Rural Elderly

The major purpose of this study was to determine the factors which affect elderly individuals' innovativeness toward housing. The. study analyzed data from the Southern Regional Research Project. S-194. “Barriers and incentives to affordable Housing”. The sample consisted of 1.878 respondents over age 55 who resided in 28 communties in seven southern states in the U.S. Results describing demographic and housing characteristics of respondents were summarized. The following findings were revealed from two statistical techniques (the ANOVA and Multiple Regression): 1) Those age 55 to 64. previous residents of larger communities. and those with higher incomes possess higher personal innovativeness toward housing: and 2) Age was a significant predictor to explain elderly respondents' positive attitude to adopt new or unusual housing types and technologies in housing.
A Study on the Uses and Awareness of Curtain

The purpose of this study is designed for showing informations about demand of consumers in the market field. the uses and awareness of curtain of consumers and specialists and the way of better choice of curtain that is important in controlling the interior style. This study results that researched the uses and awareness of consumers and specialists about curtain were as follows. Curtain is important interior equipment point. and large gap is not between consumers and specialists about curtain. but consumers emphasized function and specialists emphasized designe of curtain.
A Study on the Relationship of the Neighborhood Facility Environment with the Way of Homeproduction and Homeproduction Supportability

This study is to analyze the effect of neighborhood commercial facilities on the homeproduction activities and the family expenditure(or household work time). For this purpose. data are collected by using questionnaires distributed to 522 housewives in Seoul. The results shows that in the highly goods-intensive environment. the way of homeproduction is goods-intensive. Market dependence of the family is affected by homeproduction predisposition. income. and husband's job. Household work dependence of the .family is affected by neighborhood facility environment. family type. income. and house value. Low home production supportability is apparent in the high family income. full-time housewives and low job status of housewife. On the other hand. high homeproduction supportability is apparent in the moderate income and high job status of housewife. As a result. housewives have much time and money resourses are not well supported by the neighborhood facility environment.
Analysis of Thermal Comfort Factor′s Distribution in Convective Heating Space

The purpose of this study is to analyse the distribution of thermal sensation response and thermal environment condition in convective heating space. The contents of this study are as follows: 1)the spatial distributions of thermal conditions are measured 2)the thermal sensation vote of residents is taken in order to investigate the relation between thermal condition and human thermal sensation in sedentary condition 3)to analyse the distribution of subject's thermal sensation vote and thermal environment condition by two methods-regression method and graph method.
An Experimental Study on the Furniture Choice and Arrangement Using Scale Down Models according to the Size of Space

The Plan for effective usage of living room must be suggested because families primarily use living room for public space. And from the viewpoint of function and decoration. the kind of furniture. furniture occupancy quantity. and the arrangement of furniture have much affect on using a dwelling space. So this study will suggest basic data for a good furniture usage through experiment using scale down models. To analyze the data. frequency and percentage were used by running SPSS
program. The major results are as follows. In an experiment using living room and furniture models(Scale 1/20). according to the size of space. TV sizes and furniture occupancy quantity were in proportion to size and space of the living room. Also they chose various types of tea-table and side-tables. In small spaces. subjects chose simple arrangement types (no sofa or I type sofa and cabinet). but in large spaces. they chose \ulcorner type or \ulcorner type sofa and cabinet.
Residential Environments for the Elderly Preferred by the Middle Aged in Seoul I - The Relationship between Types of Elderly Housing and the Demands for the Residential Environments for the Elderly -

The Purpose of this study was to examine the environmental characteristics of housing for the elderly preferred by the middle aged. The residential environments include three types of elderly housing differred in the availability of care service as well as indoor and outdoor environmental characteristics of the housing. The results of this study were as follows: The most preferred type of the elderly was the elderly housing with no care service followed by the housing with intermediated care service and dependent housing with full care service. The preferred type of housing for the elderly was significantly related to the demands for the demands for the indoor and outdoor environmental characteristics of the comimg elderly.
A Study on the Characteristics of Plane Type of Detached House in Kimje Area

The area of Kimje has recently beeing changed into unran social structure and changed from rural residential type to rural type in residential circumstances since it was raised to city in 1989. Accordingly, the purpose of this thesis is to understand synthetically social structure change in the area of Kimje to compare and analyze characteristics in accordance with patterns of plane on detached houses and moreover to furnish basic data necessary for the process for the development of residential culture in Kimje in the future by investigating and analyzing use patterns of residential spacial utilization of the houses.
Differences in Family Characteristics and Housing Plans between public Supporting Households and General Rental Households in the Public Rental Housing

The purpose of this research is to find out the differences in family chareteristics and housing plans between public supporting households and general rental households in the public rental housing. One hundred eighty nine residents in chonju were analyzed. There were some differences between the two groups in family characteristics such as family size.age.a job.sex of the household head existence of mate.etc. The most desired facility was a public health center. The desiring macro environment and plan to move were similar between two groups. There were differences in the opinions on housing policies for the public rental housing between two groups.
The Study on Dwelling Environmental Planning in Old Age of the Middle Generation

This study is to analyze dwelling environmental planning in old age of middle age. For this purpose. the data were collected by using questionnaire distributed to 332. The data were analyzed by Chisquare test. The major findings of this research were as follow: 1. In housing plan of old age. they prefer new house .that is not exisiting house. independent house and ordindry housing region in the suburbs of urban. 2. It is 69.3～99 square meter what size of house is suitable for independent life of aged person for living with children. it is 102.3～132 square meter. 3. In the stage of independent or semi-independent life. they want aged couple-independent life. In the stage of dependent life. they want to be cared with children. 4. The garden(madang) is the most important space for age couple in establishing housing plan. They want to amplity life recuperation center and job providing facilities. In old age housing project. they prefer housing type with facility that combine old age house with young age house. According to increasement of dependence. the service support system required flexi-care-system.
