The Effects of Housing Values on Housing Satisfaction Model

This study was designed to examine the effects of housing values on housing satisfaction model. The empirical model of this study was based on the Goulart(1982). Data were collected through questionnaire survey, and the sample consisted of 285 households in Kimhae. Housing values were grouped into four clusters : the health and convenience value, the personal and social value, the location value, and the economic value. The major findings were that 1) the concordance between values and the actual housing conditions contributes significantly to the prediction of housing astisfaction, and 2) the control variables including sociodemographic and economic characteristics and housing values themselves did not directly influence on housing satisfaction.
Fundamental Study on Relationship between Perception of Environmental Stress and Healthy Behavior in Residential Environment

The Purpose of this study is to understand the relationship between residential environment and healthy behavior by examining the effect of environmental stress on psychology and physiology. With anxiety, the acute environmental stressor activates sympathy nerve system and the chonic environmental stressor activates the intenal secretion system because this stress induces depression. Thus, we could find that the continuity of these kinds of stresses brings the chronic disease.
A Study on the Ritual Space in Housing

The aim of this study is to analyze the intrinsic meaning of housing according to meaning of ritual space in Korean housing. At a traditional housing the rites give a sacred characteristic and grade of ranks to space. According to rites Malu(Dae-Chung) is a male's space and An-Bang is a female's space. At a present housing the central characteristic of An-Bang and sexual division of space are weakened and the space of dead person is disappered. But the rites and ritual space give sacred characteristic stability and identification in housing.
Comparison of Present and Past Traditional Korean Farmhousings

This study investigated the Present traditional Korean farmhousing and Past housing (from 1928~1956) based on a survey of 23 Korean women from Kyongki Province. It was primarily concerned with a Comparison of the present and past housing ; the size and plan of the house and finishing materials of Anbang(The masters bedroom : ondol) and the kind of furniture. lighting and heating in the Anbang. I was also interested in identifying the socio-demographic and physical variables that influenced the housing, past and Present. Bibliographical studios. cultural approaches and field surveys with tape recordings and questionnaires were used to collect the data. The results showed that the former Housing(averag ; 54 years ago) was very poor. Most homes lacked sufficient space. furniture and experienced a shortage of fuel. The most decisive difference from the present was the large family size. It would be beneficial to make a similar study in both the southern and northern regions of Korea.

The Study on the transition of types of Deul-E-Yul-Gae windows and doors in Korean traditional architecture - focused on the wall between Dae Chung and Bang -

The study is to investiagte the transition of types of Deul-E-Yul-Gae(lift up) windows and doors in Korean traditional architecture which was on the wall batween Dar Chung and Bang. As the result of studying and analysizing the transition of those the following conclusion could be obtained. The first type was to attach windows on the middle of Deul-E-Yul-Gas(lift up) doors, the second type remove windows attached on that or be(Maeng-Jang-Jee) dark paper covered door annexed Bool-Bal-Gee, and the third type to be (Myung-Jang-Jee) bright paper covered door of bottom panel slender ribs which was the most openness. Finally, we could understand the transition which would be changed from the type of(Maeng-Jang-Jee) bright paper covered lift up door of bottom panel slender ribs that had a pliable and open mood.
A Study on the Motives of Mobility and profile of Housing Environment Quality according to Household Characteristics

Mobility in housing is a normative way to satisfy family needs for· better· living conditions. In the context of relative decisions. mobility can be understood as forced relocation or unforced relocation In making relocation. the household chooses a particular 'environmental quality profile. Therefore. the understanding of mobility and relocation in housing is needed for· the developing and planning of housing evnironment. The major findings are s follows ;1. The motives of mobility are composed of 4 factors('material porseperity’, 'convenience· safety'. environmental improvement' and 'forced relocation'). Especially, 'material prosperity' was defined the most fundamental factor· for. 2. The components of housing environment quality were composed of 3 factors related to the scale of home environment. They were 'neighborhood character factor', 'dwelling character· factor·'. And 'location character· factor'. The factor 'neighborhood character' was defined the basic factor· to choose for the housing environmental quality profile.3. It was examined that the motives of mobility and the components of home environmental quality were significantly different by the household characteristics (income. family life cycle. and tenure type).
A Study on Planning Factors of Living Environment by Characteristics of the Elderly

In this paper, various characteristics-physiological, psychological and social peculiarities \ulcorner of the elderly are analyzed. Then planning factors of living environment are studied to grope directions on design of living spaces for the aged in the future, which is pertinent to their needs.The peculiar properties of the elderly are analyzed and planning factors of architectural spaces are studied by referring to sundry records from many branch \ulcorner gerontology, medical science, psychology, sociology, etc. \ulcorner of knowledge. In planning house for the aged, we have to consider their physiological, psychological, social characteristics and build many types of living spaces in order to meet their special needs in mind, to maintain their living styles. because their personalities, human relations, living patterns, and so forth have been formd individually for a long period of time and their present conditions are different respectively.
A Study on the Changed by Spatial Structure Element for the Space Planning of Apartment Complex

View From the point of change of the land of the land of the nation. The advancement in the modern civilization has led to building many apartments characterized by high buildings and building complexes due to population concentration into big cities. This tendency not only causes serious problems in terms of city images but also produces considerable discords in the matter of harmonized beauty of the complex itself.At the stage of space planning for the apartment complexes only economic and functional aspects were considered. So in many cases the space, which dose not contribute to environmental improvement which must go in parallel with the quantity increase of apartments and improvements of welfare and living standards of the apartment inhabitants.
A Study on the Subjective Response of a Field Staff about Construction Machine Noise in Construction Field

Recently, construction noise has caused much annoyance for a number of dwellers in nearby construction field and has become a very serious issue in our living environment. Therefore in our country, a practical solution and better method of reducing construction noise are highly required. Practical solutions for the construction noise, however, are very difficult because the poorness of basic data and insufficiency of the existing research. In this point, this study attempts to surveys the subkective response of construction machine noise in construction field. And this study intends to get the basic data for establishment of a standard about construction noise.

This study which aimed to propose development directions for the future housing through the social change tries to predict the change of the future. Establish directions for planning of concept-Sustainability. Human-friendliness. High Technology and, with reference to case study and literature judge feasibility of them. The major findings were as follows : 1. Development direction related to the future housing can be classified into 7 principle : energy-saving, resource-saving, natural adaptation, community, user participant, super high level, and home intelligent. 2. Planning factors of the future housing can be divided into several itemes.
A study on the comfort thermal environment by the Draft in floor panel heating system

This study was to estimate how about various effects on the body thermal sensation as air velocity. clo. mean radiant temperature and resultant temperature are varied. The indoor thermal environment elements are measured under the five different of air velocity. Using the above considerations. the following results are obtained. ▶ The states, the air velocity under 0.5 m/s and 0.63 to 0.9 clo. were shown that the comfort zone of mean radiant temperature by 21.2~24.7C, the neutral point by 22.8C, the resultant temperature by 20.7-24.4C and the neutral point by 22.6C. ▶ On equal condition, the draft was occurred at a given air-velocity under 0.5m.s. It was also appeared the floor panel heating system affecting the body thermal sensation by the subject’s below-chest parts and the local discomfort by sensations on the feet and the knees.
Resident's opinions about reconstructing the old-aged and deteriorated in Ulsan city

This study was aimed at providing valuable information that can help the government and the housing development staff deal with the problem with ‘Redevelopment Apartment Rehabilitation’ in Ulsan city.For the purpose of this study, questionaire are constructed with contents about socio-demography factors, housing factors. attitute forward reconstruction, and housing needs of respondents. questionaire were collected from 232 housewives living in old-aged and deteriorated apartment houses in Ulsan. Apartment houses of respondents are 5 floor. more than 100unit houses. and above 10 years old the living size of apartmet is less than 25 pyoung(82.5m2) per unit house and average living size is 16~20 Pyoung(52.8m2~66.Om2)/unit house. Average family size is 4-5 persons. and average income is about 1,200,000 Won(about $ 1,500) Per month. The major findings are as follows :First, they want the reconstruction of old-aged and deteriorated apartment house very positively.Second. they want high rise building, more lager parking lot. market. sports facility. and play yard for children. Third they want that size of unit house is 26~30 pyoung85.8m2~99.0m2). the number of room is 3~4, the number of bathroom is 1-2. and type of access is stair style.
A Study on Residents' Subjective Evaluation of the Elderly Housing Environment in the Suburbs of Chiba City, Japan

The Purpose of this study is to examine residents' subjective satisfaction of the elderly housing environment and to suggest some major factors which can be used as basic design guidelines for the elderly housing. as the number of the elderly is growing in Japan For this purpose. data were collected through a questionnaire survey method, Some questions on their hope for the conditions of the elderly housing were asked to 265 old People living in the suburbs of Chiba city. Japan. Based on the findings of the statistical factor analysis, the major factors which affected on the elderly housing environment of the study can be summarized as follows ;(1)Factor1 is correlated with the space design element represented by the elderly dwelling performance and overall efficiency for the dwelling exterior space design (2)Factor2 is relative to the interior environmental element with Physiological and sensitive performance for borne services system. (3)Factor3 can be explained the moving and communication performance for Physical uneasiness of outdoor activities and request of public cultural spaces. (4)Factor4 is relative to the mental rest element with safety accidents for moving activities etc. and psychological isolation for the elderly.
A Study on the Demands and Satisfaction of the Residential Life Management of Apartment Residents

The purpose of this study was to examine the tendency of demands and satisfaction according to the resident's characteristics using the Cognitive Measurement Scale of Residential Life Management. Data were analyzed by the SAS program package. The results of study showed that the degree of satisfaction in the life management was low. And highest demand of each factor was as follows : Life cooperative association in Fesidential life convenience service(I). Bank service in Residential life support service(II). Announcement about utility fee in Resident's activity support and announcement of managerial warks(III). Works about criminiality control in Safety and order sustaining(IV). Care for empty house in Precaution to accident(V).
