Cutting Chip and Surface Roughness in Micro Groove Cutting of Brass

Recently optical and electric and electronic forms in the field of ultra fine patterns has been used extensively, and techniques of the optical parts are required that can precision-machine this micro-patterns such as V or R-shaped micro-groove patterns. In this study, V and R type, shaping the way micro groove brass machining process to characterize the material feed rate and cutting depth and the V and R as a variable brother, using two kinds of diamond tools for each picture shape and surface roughness caused by conditions such as chips, processed through the analysis of effects of geometry and analysis such as precision machining.
A study on grinding and process design of Constant Velocity

The constant velocity internal grinding is a popular process for studying axle machine design and process in automobile industry. In this study, The program which gives the data of wheel size and truing diameter of ball groove is developed. As a result I obtained the data of grinding conditions makes good surface roughness get a grinding conditions. The grinding characteristics and conditions of constant velocity joint were investigated with respect to grinding feed, cutting depth, grinding time. At machine failure, the results were suddenly increased and the detailed surfaces were extremely obtained. Grinding condition was big more affected by grinding depth, grinding speed and grinding time.
Analysis of Various Acoustic Emission Signal for the Automatic Detection of Defective Manufactures in Press Process

Small cracks or chips of a product appear very frequently in the course of continuous production of an automatic press process system. These phenomena became the cause of not only defective product but also damage of a press mold. In order to solve this problem AE(Acoustic emission) system was introduced. AE system was expected to be very effective to real time detection of the defective product and for the prevention of the damage in the press molds In this study, for the pick and analysis of AE signals generated from the press process, AE sensors/pre-amplifier/analysis and processing board were used as frequently found in the other similar cases. For the analysis and processing the AE signals picked in real time from the normal or the detective products, specialized software called AE-win(software for processing AE signal from Physical Acoustics Corporation) was used. As a result of this work it was conformed that intensity and shape of the various AE signals differ depending on the weight of the press and thickness of sheet and process type.
Sun point detector for daylight system

Finding sufficient supplies of clean energy for future is one of the society's most important challenges according to technologies. Alternative renewable energy source such as solar energy can be substituted for exceeding human energy need. The main factor affect to solar performance is a collective intensity. To enhance intensity, suitable equipment is a solar tracker. The solar tracker consists of sun point detector module, mechanical mechanism module with actuator and control system module. This paper presents sun point detector for solar tracker of daylight system. To evaluate the detecting accuracy, an experimental device is implemented. In experimental results, the accuracy of development system has under 0.11%/0.5deg.
Analyses on Deformation Patterns Depending on the Injection Process for Rear Lamp Reflectors of Automotive

One of the most common engineering processes using plastics is the injection molding. In addition, plastics are utilized over the entire areas in our life including cars and home appliances among others for their characteristics with no deterioration even after a long time, as well as for their light weights in addition to their good durability. This paper aimed to minimize defects through prior analyses on the weld line, air traps, filling time, molding temperature and deformation patterns among others while carrying out interpretations on the cooling, filling and deformation in the injection process using the moldflow for rear lamp reflectors among components for a car in making parts through the coating process after injection.
Micro Drilling using 2-directional Vibration in a Plane

By generating 2-directional vibration in a xy plane of workpiece table, a newly developed micro drilling using 2-directional vibration was carried out. The vibration was produced by applying sinusoidal voltages to the orthogonally arranged piezoelectric materials built in the workpiece excitation table. Through the micro-drilling experiments using poly-carbonate and brass material, it was found that micro drilling using 2-directional vibration in a workpiece table could be an efficient method to enhance the form accuracy of machined workpiece by suppressing burr formation at both entry and exit region. A higher form accuracy could be obtained by increasing stiffness of feeding mechanism, decrease of geometric tolerance of combining jig, and development of high performance excitation table which generates amplified vibration at higher frequency.
A Study on Mechanical Property and Fatigue Crack Growth Behavior of Surface-Hardened SM53C Steel

Recently, with the high performance and efficiency of machine, there have been required the multi-functions in various machine parts, such as the heat resistance, the abrasion resistance and the stress resistance as well as the strength. Fatigue crack growth tests were carried out to investigate the fatigue characteristics of high carbon steel (SM53C) experienced by high-frequency induction treatment. The influence of high-frequency induction treatment on fatigue limit was experimentally examined with the specialfocus on the variation of surface microstructure and the fatigue crack initiation and propagation through fractography. Also, the shape of hardening depth, hardened structure, hardness, and fatigue-fracture characteristics of SM53C composed by carbon steel are also investigated.
Basic Study of the Improvement of PSD Output by Inclined Light Input

In this paper, the output characteristics of PSD(Position Sensetive Detector) used in measurement system are described. Most of the precision measurment systems are accomplished by a laser diode(LD), a photo diode(PD) and PSD(Position Sensetive Detector), which are used in reflection of mirror or projection of infrared spectrometer. But it is especially restricted by resolution of PD and PSD in nano-measurement. A new inclined light methods into the PSD are employed in the surface measurement system for increasing the resolution. As the results, we can know that the output characteristics of detective senser (PSD) become more than 2 or 3 times by changing inclined angle(range: 5 degree) compared with common angle. In addition, the experiment results are confirmed that the change of inclined angle is not affecting to the linearity and repeating.
Contact Stress Analysis of a Pair of Mating Spur Gears

This paper presents the study on the contact stress analysis of a pair of mating spur gears during rotation. Contact stress analysis is performed between two spur gear teeth at different contact positions during rotation. An example is presented to investigate the variation of contact stress on a pair of mating gears with contact positions. The variation of contact stress during rotation is compared with the contact stress at lowest point of single tooth contact(LPSTC) and AGMA Equation for contact stress. The results show that contact stress varies along the contact position and gets maximum values in the beginning and end of the contact. In this study, the gear design considering the contact stress on a pair of mating gears is more severe than that of AGMA standard.
