An Analysis on the Relationships between Professions in the Beauty Industry and Blood Type

This study was carried out after the author experienced different personalities according to blood type over many years and thus have attempted to find out the relationships between blood type and each occupation in the industry. This study aims to analyze employees in the beauty industry (hair design, skin care, nail art and makeup) in Seoul with regard to their blood types. The significance of this study is to provide baseline data for entrants and managers in the beauty industry in order to help them choose the right occupation and reduce turnover rates through analyzing employee personalities by blood type. Research topics include the following: first, to understand the characteristics of employees in the beauty industry; and second, to find out the relationships between blood types and types of professions. After conducting an inquiry into the relationships between blood type and profession in the industry, a significant portion of skin care (49.3%) and nail art (43.8%) professionals was blood type A; nail artists (43.8%), type AB; hair designers (54.7%), type B; and makeup artists (50.0%) and hair designers (29.2%), type O. In conclusion, these results reflect the personalities of people within the beauty industry by blood type. Skin care and nail art shops are quiet environments, whereas hair salons are relatively louder with contemporary music along with the sounds of various equipment.
The Effects Caused by Lavender and Rosemary for Salivary Cortisol, Stress Levels and Mood Alteration

This study is being conducted in order to confirm the effects of inhaling method for aromatherapy on cortisol which is a stress hormone by the saliva test method. An attempt is being made to dertermine if there are any differences between the effect of lavender and rosemary when concidering their effects on the cortisolsl. The test shows a statistically significant decrease in the cortisol levesl(Table 4), and as far as the comparison of the effects between lavender(N=10) and rosemary(N=10) is concerned, the lavender group show a p-value of .005 which means that there are no statistical significances; while the rosemary group show p-values of .081 meaning that there is a decrease in cortisol levels, which is statistically significant(Table 5). It has been proven that the saliva test method is a practical and scientific method when confirming the effects of aromatherapy and also a convenient method for both of the test coordinator and the subjects. Results of all 20 subjects showed similar results obtained by means of conventional blood tests. However, the rosemary group shows statistically significant decrease in cortisol level compared to the lavender group, thus proving that the test method for studying the effect of aromatherapy on stress is valid. Further studies should be conducted in order to investigate the differences in the effects of the cortisol level at different concentrations of the aroma.
A Study on Three-dimensional Effects and Deformation of Textile Fabrics: Dynamic Deformations of Silk Fabrics

Recent trends toward the collaborations among various sectors of academia and research areas have brought interests and significances in new activities especially in the fashion and textile areas. One of the collaboration examples is the recent research projects on 3D virtual clothing systems based on the 3D CAD software. The 3D virtual clothing systems provide simulated apparels with high degrees of fidelity in terms of color, texture, and structural details. However, since real fabrics exhibit strong nonlinearity, anisotropy, viscoelasticity, and hysteresis, the 3D virtual clothing systems need fine tuning parameters for the simulation process. In this study, characteristics of silk fabrics, which are woven by using degummed silk and raw silk yarns, are being analyzed and compared. Anisotropic properties may be measured as warp and filling direction properties separately in woven fabrics, such as warp tensile stress or filling bending rigidity. Hysteretic properties may be measured as bending hysteresis or shear hysteresis by using KES measurements. These data provide deformation-force relationships of the fabric specimen. Three-dimensional effects obtained when using these characteristic fabrics are also analyzed. The methods to control the three-dimensional appearance of the sewn fabric specimens when utilizing a programmable microprocessor-based motor device, as prepared in this study, are presented. Based on the physical and mechanical properties measured when using the KES equipment, the property parameters are being into a 3-dimensional virtual digital clothing system, in order to generate a virtual clothing product based on the measured silk fabric properties.
Favorability's Difference of Beard Type According to Perceiver's Characteristic

The modern people do express their personalities by appearance and actively use the appearance as the social tools, and the attractive appearance largely does influence the human relationship. As the appearance's importance is being magnified, the attractive appearance and favourable impression is an important standard for job performance and social position, and used as the way to reach the social goal. This study does investigate the design's kind and character of the beard which belongs to the male exclusive property and compare the differences of the impression's formation according to the beard design. The empirical results confirmed that the male beard design formated the various impressions according to the designs and their mutual relationship existed. Therefore, the beard is a symbol of maleness and an expression for the social position and personal character, whereas it possesses the very important meaning as the influencing factor on the impression's change. First, the pre stimuli were finished through the pre survey for composition of questionnaire in order to evaluate the impression after selection of experimental models and beard types for measuring instruments. Second, sixty three university students were surveyed by pre stimuli and questionnaire as pre experiment, and afterwards the measuring instruments and experimental design were revised. Third, the stimuli completed (nine beard designs) were intentionally well distributed as questionnaire by sex and ages in Seoul metropolitan and her environment. and the factorial analysis and the coefficient of Cronbach's
for reliability test were completed for questionnaire's validity using SPSS/PC+ Window Ver. 12.0.
A Study on the Categories and Contents of Fashion and Technology Trend: Focused on Design Field

This study examined the categories and contents of technology that is recently influencing the fashion design. For this, the cases of global companies integrating fashion design and technology were examined, and the types of technology integration studies within the field of fashion design were analyzed through the trend of fashion-technology integration in domestic academic circles released since 2000. According to the case of global companies integrating fashion design and technology, various companies and fashion brands have released fashion products that are integrated with technology, and such integrations are developing up to the field of fashion shows and displays in addition to fashion products. The analysis of studies related with fashion and technology in the design field showed that domestic studies on fashion-technology integration were manifested as the types that applied various technologies to the fashion design. Such types were categorized into the studies that applied light-emitting technology, studies that focused on the integration of interaction and textile design, studies that applied response-perception, studies that used attached electronic devices, and studies that used autogenic bacteria. The fashion has less negative impact on body and environment compared with other areas, and therefore, is the best area for the experiments in IT, bio, and electronics areas and for the integration of fashion and technology. Moreover, studies on fashion that suggest the capability in developing and industrializing cases through the collaboration with other fields such as IT, bio, and electronics shall continue.

The purpose of this study is to understand how the silhouette changed throughout 1970s and assess how US women express their identities through their dress, which may explain societies' attitudes through the way women dresses. US Vogue fashion magazines were used to explore all the information on fashion and style trends, social trends, beauty, and travel. A content analysis was performed on the issues of the March and September for the years 1970 to 1979. The findings for this study about the 1970s were all about perpetual change, constantly moving forward with innovation. The color ranged from bright, cheery and bold to deep and passionate to subtle neutrals. There were a few constant colors through the decade like white, black and navy. Occasionally the trend would completely change from one season to the next within the same year. They would be full and oversized and then be slim and body conscious. The one trend that stayed true for the entire decade was wrapping. Skirts, pants, dresses, tops, shoes and jewelry; everything wrapped in one-way or another. Clothes steadily became more revealing as the years progressed. Fabrics over all were soft and knitted. Casual and comfortable was the phase heard most often. In the 1970s there was constant change in prints. They were bold and large or subtle and small, ethnic or floral. Hair was mostly smooth and sleek however towards the style moved to a fuller look.
A Study on Developing Designs and the Practical Use of Outdoor Backpacks Equipped with Solar Cells

'Smart Clothes', which incorporate topnotch digital technology into fashion, are a leading fashion runner in this digital era. The purpose of the study is to first help develop a practical design for outdoor backpacks which are equipped with eco-friendly solar cells that facilitate recharging diverse smart devices during outdoor activities; and, secondly, to offer some practical data from the actual appropriation tests that will be used for manufacturing such products. This trial study finds out how to conjoin some practical IT devices with fashion items and mainly focusses on designing outdoor backpacks which are loaded with solar cells for recharging electric devices, and, later, experiments on designed backpacks with some smart phones to see how it works. According to the desired purposes of backpacks, all the features can be adjusted and modified such as the kinds of solar cell panels, materials, sizes, positions of attachment, weights, etc. Smart Clothes are highly functional and fashionable items that satisfy both practical and emotional purposes, and are being actively developed to serve consumers. This study proves that Smart Clothes or Smart Wear will have practical uses for outdoor activities and will possibly lead our smart lifestyles.
The Functional Color Arrangement for Industrial Safety in Machinery Work Site 2: Focusing on Chroma Value from Top and Bottom

This research is to study the functional color arrangement of work clothes based on the color chroma value arrangement, which could affect the safety of workers at the site of the mechanical industry. For the study, 5PB hue, indicating a high satisfaction level with proper colors at the site of the mechanical industry, were selected from previous research for 6 types of CAD simulation on a 2-color chroma value arrangement. To analyze the color data of each color arrangement after applying the color chroma value arrangement as well as to figure out the level of recognition on the color arrangement, an analytical result, which was based on the NCS color system, was evaluated. Furthermore, the survey study on items regarding the safety of the relevant work site for the simulated result was executed. As a result of the evaluation, the color arrangements which include high color chroma value indicated a high satisfactory level in all items under the visibility criteria for the safety of workers, propriety as a color arrangement of work clothes, and safety from the perspective of work site management. In particular, the color arrangement mixture between high color chroma obtained the highest satisfactory evaluation, indicating that the color arrangement of high color chroma is essential in the color arrangement of work clothes for the establishment of safety by adjusting the color chroma value. Yet, in order to figure out the independent function of the color chroma value, other factors are restricted in this study. Thus, it is not proper to apply the result of this study only at the actual work site. Therefore, a follow-up research centered on the tones of all three types is proposed, from which we can expect, a suggestion of the applicable color guideline for the industrial site.
A Comparison Analysis of Color Characteristics and Images in Flight Attendant Uniforms of Korea, China and Japan

The purpose of this research was to conduct a comparison analysis of color in the characteristics and image of Korea/China/Japan airline uniforms. Research subjects for this research included 19 Korean, Chinese and Japanese airlines servicing the Incheon International Airport in South Korea. The analysis methods are based on the Munsell Color Order System and PCCS (Practical Color Coordinate System) tone classification in order to examine the color characteristics. For the color image analysis, the present research performed a positioning on Shigenobu Kobayashi's color images scale with adjectives in order to compare the resulting differences. As a result of the analysis, this research discovered the following; First, achromatic colors were found to be used most frequently in flight attendant uniforms of Korea/China/Japan. In Korean flight attendant uniforms, YR/Y, GY and B/PB/P; in Chinese, R/PB, RP, YR/Y/GY and BG/P; in Japanese, RP, R/P/PB and Y/BG were found in order. As for the main uniform colors, Korean flight attendant uniforms were found to be in the colors YR, and R/GY/B/P; Chinese flight attendant uniforms, R, PB, and P/B; and Japanese flight attendant uniforms, R, BG, B, RP and N. Second, Korean flight attendant uniforms used W and It most frequently; China flight attendant uniforms, W; and Japanese flight attendant uniforms, W and v. Regarding the main colors, Korean flight atteddant uniforms used lt/g and v/p; Chinese flight attendant uniforms, v, dp and s/d/dkg; and Japanese flight attendant uniforms, v/dkg and Bk. Third, after positioning each country's uniform color combination bars on the Kobayashi image scale, Korean flight attendant uniforms showed classic images along with casual/pretty/elegant/chic images; Chinese flight attendant uniforms displayed, casual images as well as, dynamic/gorgeous/chic/cool casual/dandy images; and finally, Japanese flight attendant uniforms converyed dandy images along with casual/gorgeous images. This research findings indicate that Korea/China/Japan airlines' flight attendant uniforms seek for differentiated image establishment by reflecting their own CIs and unique national cultures in the uniform color marketing.
A Classification of Luxury Fashion Brands' E-commerce Sites

The aim of this study was to analyze e-commerce sites of luxury fashion brands in order to provide insights on how to enhance online site quality. For the research, forty-eight components of thirty-one luxury fashion brands' e-commerce sites were investigated during October 2013. For the analysis of clustering e-commerce site components and segmenting e-commerce sites of luxury brands, a hierarchical cluster analysis was applied through using the Ward's method and squared Euclidian distance for binary data. Further, Fisher's exact test was applied in order to distinguish three groups of characteristics in the luxury e-commerce sites. These analyses were carried out by SPSS 21. The result indicated that the components of e-commerce sites were grouped into three categories: basic elements, additional elements and elements of building brand identity. These components were categorized by whether their functions were basic and essential or additional and advanced. The other norm of categorization was related to brand identity. Furthermore, the luxury brands' e-commerce sites were segmented into three groups: a group of endeavoring to promote goods, a group of undistinguished performance, and a group of endeavoring to intensify brand identity. In this segmentation, brand identity or promotional aspects were decisive. Overall, luxury brands were trying to convey their traditional strength through their e-commerce sites. In order to achieve this purpose, brand identity or promotional aspects played an important role.
A Comparison of Chinese Women's Lower Body Features in Shanghai and Hong Kong

In this study, we analyzed the figure type and lower-body size of Shanghai and Hong Kong adult women in their early twenties using the data obtained from 3D whole body scanners. We also provided concrete information related to women's lower bodies, in terms of crotch width, crotch length, inseam, outseam, slope of waist, etc., among women in Shanghai and Hong Kong. The result may be useful to the Chinese apparel industry when designing trouser pants for adult women. According to the results of the factor analysis for categorizing the body shape of the lower half, 5 factors were obtained: obesity of the lower half factor, height of the lower half factor, length from waist to the crotch factor, factor related to legs, and shape of the abdomen factor. After performing a cluster analysis according to the factor analysis, three clusters were set: Cluster 1 was represented as the lower half growth type, which has a high value in height of the lower half factor and grows in the abdomen part. Cluster 2 was represented as thin legs type, which has a low value in most part compared to the length of leg bones and factors about legs that have high value. Cluster 3 was represented as the obesity type having a high value in the obesity of the lower half factor. Overall, thin legs type achieved a high rate in Shanghai adult women and obesity type received a high rate in adult women living in Hong Kong.
A Case Study on the Design Characteristics of Japanese Young Fashion Designers in the Paris Collection

The purpose of this study is to provide basic information to Korean fashion designers who wish to advance to the overseas collection. This is done through analyzing the design characteristics of Japanese young fashion designers, Tsumori Chisato, Commuun, and Limi Feu, who have successfully launched their designs into the Paris collection and became global fashion brands. Collections of each brand were analyzed by the overall fashion style and design elements. For the overall fashion style, Tsumori Chisato used a romantic style using details with various ornaments, whereas Commuun shows minimal style with a simple silhouette. Limi Feu expressed avant-garde style with experimental patterns. Moreover, these brands expressed different style to other brands by applying Japanese traditional clothes, patterns, and Japanese techniques in modern view point. In terms of design elements, these three brands used the H-line silhouette. Tsumori Chisato used loose fit; Commuun, slim line; and Limi Feu, boxy silhouette. In the case of colors, materials, patterns and details, Tsumori Chisato showed mix & match with various colors, materials, patterns and details. Commuun used mono tone with black & white using only one or two materials. Limi Feu usually used the color black with cotton. According to the style of the brand and region of the collection, the main characteristics of the design and the application of Japanese traditional elements can be different.
