Transmission of Efficient WAP Packet Using Turbo Code Scheme in Wireless Network

In this paper, we have analyzed transmission time for WAP over CDMA using turbo code scheme. In order for SAR to improve the transfer capability, the transmission of messages have been simulated using a fragmentation that begins with the total package and incremental fragmentation for each layer using the WTP to define the resultant packet size and the level of fragmentation for each proceeding layer. This turbo code scheme decreases transmission time of RLP baseband packets by sending packets. From the results, we were able to obtain packet transmission time and optimal WTP packet size for WAP over CDMA in a Rician fading channel.
Performance Analysis of Dedicated Short Range Communication System on the Rician Fading Channel

In this paper, we investigated performance for 5.8GHz dedicated short range communication system using OFDM which will be applied to Intelligent transportation system services. The maximum speed of a vehicle in DSRC channel is very fast as 180km/h, so a service time is very short to serve a various traffic information if hand-off is not occurred. Therefore higher bit rate is required to proved advanced and intelligent service to the drivers of various vehicle and the data transmission rate of the next generation DSRC system if being promoted over 10Mbps. The signals received in Racian channel have been simulated using the computer simulator. For performance improvement, BCH coding scheme are adopted.
Implementation of DS-UWB Impulse Generator with Suppression of Frequency Band for WLAN

In this paper, Gaussian impulse generator for DS-UWB was proposed and fabricated so that the frequency band allocated to WLAN, around 5 GHz, was suppressed in accordance with the regulation of radiation spectrum limitation defined by FCC. In order to transform an unipolar rectangular signal to a Gaussian impulse, the proposed impulse generator consists of two stage impulse generation parts; the first stage using dual SRD and the second stage using gain switching of semiconductor laser diode. The result shows a gaussian impulse as narrow as 180 psec in width. In addition, high order derivative Gaussian filter with a structure of 4 stage ring resonators was designed and fabricated so that DS-UWB impulse generator could reduce the frequency spectrum of WLAN by 25 dB compared to the spectral power of th adjacent UWB band.
Performance Analysis of SLM Method for PAR Reduction Based on OFDM System

In these days, OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is adopted to support high-speed data communication based on multi-path RF channel, but it has some weak point. One of those is that it has a higher PAR(peak-to-average power ratio) compared with single-carrier method. If some PAR of the transmitted signal is high, nonlinear amplitude distortion has occurred when it pass through the HPA(high power amplifier). There is a solution to prevent nonlinear distortion using higher peak power HPA, but it makes inefficiency and a cost problem. In this paper, we choose the SLM(Selected Mapping) scheme, which transmit the lowest PAR signal after OFDM symbol mapping, in various schemes reducing PAR for OFDM system. And we derived the performances of SLM method in fading channel through computer simulations.
A Study on the Design and Realization of a VHF Receiver for Air Traffic Control

This paper discusses the design and fabrication of a wireless VHF receiver for use in air traffic control. The VHF receiver was designed and tested in three modules: a control module, a receiver module and a power module, all of which were integrated into a single block for final testing. The fundamental performance of the receiver, and in particular, sensitivity, the most important factor, is designed to satisfy existing commercial wireless transmitter specifications for air traffic control. The receiver displays a sensitivity of -113 dBm, which is higher performance than existing commercial products, and is suitable for use as a basic component of CNS/ATM.
A TCP Fairness Improvement Scheme for Wired and Wireless Heterogeneous Networks

Multiple wireless devices in wired and wireless heterogeneous networks communicate with counterparts via a single Access Point (AP). In this case, the AP becomes a bottleneck of the network, therefore buffer overflows occur frequently and result in TCP performance degradation. In this paper, the new algorithm that prevents buffer overflows at AP and enhances TCP fairness is proposed. Depending on the buffer usage of AP, the new algorithm adaptively controls each TCP senders' transmission rate, prevents buffer overflows and thus guarantees improved TCP fairness. It is proved that the algorithm makes better of TCP throughput and fairness by preventing buffer overflows.
A Predistortion Linearizer Using the In-phase Modulator

In this paper, a predistortion linearizer using the in-phase modulator is proposed. The harmonic generator of the proposed predistorter extracts a second harmonic signals. These signals are divided in-phase and quadrature-phase signals, and then amplifying each signals using variable gain amplifier. An in-phase modulator, modulate fundamental signal with second harmonic signals, generates the predistortion intermodulation distortion (IM) signals and controls amplitude and phase of them with modulation factors. As a result, this predistorter is suppressed intermodulation distortion signals of power amplifier effectively. The proposed linearizer has been implemented to operate in Cellular-band. The test results show that the third order IM is cancelled more than 20dB in case of CW 2-tone signals with
=1MHz. Also, it's improved the adjacent channel power ratio (ACPR) more than 7dB for IS-95 CDMA 1FA signals.
Efficient Preprocessing Method for Binary Centroid Tracker in Cluttered Image Sequences

This paper proposes an efficient preprocessing technique for a binary centroid tracker in correlated image sequences. It is known that the following factors determine the performance of the binary centroid target tracker: (1) an efficient real-time preprocessing technique, (2) an exact target segmentation from cluttered background images and (3) an intelligent tracking window sizing, and etc. The proposed centroid tracker consists of an adaptive segmentation method based on novel distance features and an efficient real-time preprocessing technique in order to enhance the distinction between the objects of interest and their local background. Various tracking experiments using synthetic images as well as real Forward-Looking InfraRed (FLIR) images are performed to show the usefulness of the proposed methods.
Analysis of Performance and Simulation of ATSC 8-VSB Signal

In this paper, we simulated terrestrial digital broadcasting system and analyzed the performance of 8-VSB signal and carried out baseband simulation of tranceiver modeling by standard parameter and passband simulation for interchannel interference. Also, an error rate equation for fading and interference of 8-VSB signal is derived. As a result, the case not to consider Rician fading, the influence of the interference did not exist if frequency interval fell off over the 20MHz. The case to consider Rician fading, the system had the degradation of the performance.
QoS Providing Technique in MIPv6 Network Based on WLAN

Recently there are increasing needs for Internet and various kinds of contents. These traffics for various contents need more amount of data to provide high-quality information and require various QoS depending on the characteristics of contents. However, current Internet service supports BE (Best Effort) service only, therefore IntServ (Integrated Service) scheme and DiffServ (Differentiated Service) scheme are represented to support QoS in IP layer. Moreover, while wireless Internet is getting popular, MAC(Medium Access Control) is also becoming important. This is due to the fact that wireless access, resource allocation and packet scheduling, which are done in another layers before, are performed in MAC layer in many new wireless systems. This paper describes new scheme that provides QoS taking into account the traffic characteristics over Mobile IPv6 network based on IEEE 802.11e EDCF and evaluates the performance through computer simulation.
Design of single rate Rate Adaptive Shaper Using FPGA

This paper has addressed the scheme to design single rate Rate Adaptive Shaper (srRAS) proposed in RFC2963. srRAS is the shaper used in conjugation with downstream single rate Three Color Marker (srTCM) described in RFC269. it is tail-drop First Input First Out (FIFO) queue that is drained at a variable rate. srTCM meters IP packet streams from srRAS and marks its packets to be either green, yellow, or red. This shaper has been proposed to use at the ingress of differentiated services networks providing AF PHB. And then srRAS can reduce the burstiness of the upstream traffic of srTCM. This paper addresses algorithm, architecture of srRAS, and the scheme to implement srRAS using Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) and the related technology.
