Wireless Remote Control and Monitoring System by using Globalstar Satellite Modem

In this paper, we implemented an wireless remote control and monitoring system by using Globalstar satellite modem. This system is composed of the data terminal equipment of Globalstar data communication system using microcontroller, C8051F023, and WGIS(Web-based GIS) user program. We tested the wireless remote control and monitoring system with data terminal equipment and user program how to work properly, and verified that the user could confirm the data from the data terminal equipment, which can provide the status of input/output devices and the information of location with the main and control dialog by GIS(Geographic Information System) program. For data communication of between data terminal equipment and user program, we programed PPP and TCP/IP protocol to communicate with each other. Some GIS tools used in this program are ArcView and MapObject from ESRI to offer various visual mapping information to the user.

In this paper, the dual-ground, high-gain and broad-band internal antenna has been designed and fabricated for 4th-generation mobile communication applications. The optimized antenna was fabricated using photolithography method. The antenna consist of the patches, antenna and system ground, and a probe. The patch and ground plane were separated by air. In order to prevent the demage due to radiator swaying, the foams(
) were used to fix the patches and ground. The conductor for the radiators was 0.05 [mm] thick. The measured input return loss showed less than -10 [dB] at the broadband from 3499 to 4743 [MHz]. It's measured bandwidth was 1244 [MHz]. The radiation patterns measured at 3400, 3600, 3800, 4000 and 4200 [MHz] showed Omni-directional characteristics. The gain in the E-plane and H-plane was 4.7 ~ 6.1 and 2.1 ~ 4.3 [dBi], respectively.

Performance of Block Error Probabilities of FS MC-CDMA System using BCH Coding Scheme in Slow Multipath Fading Channels

In this paper, we analysis the error performance improvement of the FS MC-CDMA, whose information data are spread spectrum with direct sequences(DS), and each subband signal is transmitted using a subcarrier frequency, combining BCH code in Mobile communication channels which is characterized by Nakagami fading. The effect of co-channel interference on the block error performance is also studied in this paper. As a results of study, the coding techniques provides more efficient improvement than non-coding, but the coding techniques are required more band as many coding rate. Our study demonstrates that the system is combined coding techniques, the amount of improvement is capable of efficiently exploiting over the Nakagami fading.
A Study on the Design and Implementation of the Oscillator Using a Miniaturized Hairpin Ring Resonator

In this paper, an S-band oscillator of the low phase noise property using miniaturized microstrip hairpin shaped ring resonator has been designed and implemented. The TACONIC's RF-35 substrate has a dielectric constant
=3.5 a thickness h=20mil a copper thickness t=17 um and loss tangent
=0.0025. The designed and implemented 2.45 GHz oscillator shows low phase performance of -100.5 dBc/Hz a 100kHz offset. Output power 20.9 dBm at center frequency 2.45 GHz and harmonic suppression -32 dBc. The circuit was implemented with hybrid technique. But can be fully compatible with the RFIC's, MIC and MMIC due to its entirely planar structure.
A Study on Spectrum Sensing for WRAN

Recently, many frequency sharing technology including CR (Cognitive Radio) technology have been studied actively because of frequency scarcity. For implementing CR systems, spectrum sensing technology plays key role. In IEEE 802.22 WRAN, the first standard aimed at Internet service in a TV channel with CR technology. This paper explained the various spectrum sensing schemes detecting narrowband ATSC signal in the IEEE 802.22 such as Energy detector, Spectral Correlation Sensing scheme, Covariance based Sensing algorithm and analyzed in terms of the probability of misdetection when the probability of false alarm is 10%. Based on simulation results, this paper proposed a duplex sensing scheme based on Energy detector and analyzed the capability of the proposed sensing scheme comparing with each sensing scheme.
A Study on PAPR reduction in OFDM WPAN system using Millimeter Wave

There has been lots of studies on communication systems using millimeter wave recently in many countries, specially in newly assigned 57GHz ~ 64GHz ISM band. Among those studies, IEEE 802.15.3c standard proposes OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) systems for high data rate transmission support. But OFDM method has the PAPR (peak-to-Average Power Radio) problem The PAPR problem is to decline the performance of the transmission system due to signals distorted severely when passing through nonlinear components such as ADC/DAC and power amplifiers. In order to solve the problem of P APR, this paper suggests SSC (Sine Soft Clipping) and analyzes the PAPR, CCDF, PSD, BER by applying SAW(Surface Acoustic Wave) filter and power amplifiers to IEEE 802.15.3.c OFDM WPAN systems.
The Signal Acquisition Algorithm for Ultra Wide-band Communication Systems

Due to the extremely short pulse in the Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology, the accurate synchronization acquisition method is very important for both high data-rate WPAN and low data-rate WPAN. In this paper, we propose the synchronization acquisition algorithm based on two-step signal search method to acquire the synchronization in the UWB multi-path channel. At the first step, the search window is divided by two and the window that has higher power is chosen as a next search window. This operation is repeated until the measure power of the search window is smaller than the threshold value. At the second step, we employ Linear Search algorithm to the search window obtained at the first step for fine search. The proposed algorithm is proved that the synchronization acquisition is faster than the parallel search algorithm and it shows good performance in environment of the SNR extreme changes by the simulation.
A TCP Fairness Guarantee Scheme with Dynamic Advertisement Window Adjustment for Mobile Broadband Wireless Access Networks

In a mobile broadband wireless access (MBWA) network, many users access a base station (BS), which relays data transferred from high-speed wired network to low-speed wireless network. For this difference of their data rate, a BS suffers from the lack of its buffer space when many users run multiple applications at the same time, and thus packet losses occur. TCP, which guarantees end-to-end reliability, is used as transport protocol also in wireless networks. But TCP lowers their transmission rate incorrectly and frequently whenever packet losses occur. And they increase their transmission rate differently with each other; finally TCP throughput of each TCP flow varies largely, and then TCP fairness goes worse. In this paper, a scheme that controls packet transmission rate adaptively according to TCP flows' transmission rate, that prevents buffer overflows at BS, and that guarantees TCP fairness at a certain degree is proposed. As it is analyzed by simulations, the proposed scheme enhances TCP fairness by maintaining TCP throughput of each TCP sender similarly with each other.
Implementation of Surveillance System using Motion Tracking Method based on Mobile

This paper is using motion tracking by image segmentation to monitor intruders and to confirm based on mobile the relevant information. First, detect frame in animation that film fixed area, and make use of image subtraction between two frame that adjoin, segment fixed backing and target who move. Segmental foreground object to the edge detecting the location specified by the edge of the median estimate extracted by analyzing the motion of the intruders to monitor. When a motion is detected, the detected image is transmitted by using the W AP pull basis image transmission method on the mobile client data terminal.
The Research on Informatization Level Evaluation Model in Construction Company

This study designed model that could scientifically and objectively evaluate a level of informatization of construction companies in consideration of informatization characteristics and limitations identified in researches related to the evaluation of informatization level of construction companies, so at to create the e-business environment for the construction companies including the enhancement of informatization consciousness and to improve capacity to carry out informatization. To do this, the study defined requirements to develop new model of construction informatization level and the characteristics of construction companies, and developed components of informatization level model and measuring methods that could meet the requirements based on theories and literature. The developed informatization level model were reviewed for validity and reliability through statistical method by carrying out the questionnaire survey on 200 companies along with an advisory group of experts. As the result of this study, we could suggest the directions for informatization to narrow the gap between the current level of informatization and the managerial goals in construction company.
A Study on a Illegal Copy Protection model using Hidden Agent in Embedded Computing Environment

There have been researches into digital Watermarking technology or Fingerprinting vigorously to safeguard Protective rights for knowledge and poverty for digital contents. DRM(Digital Rights Management) is not only Protective rights for knowledge and poverty, but also management and systems that are necessary to put out, circulate and use for contents. This paper proposes two kinds of ideas. One is protecting contents from illegal acts such as illegal copies when the contents are in the process of circulation. The other is the protocol that can give users convenience. Hidden Agents are used so that contents are protected from illegal copies and illegal use in the contents and cuts off those illegal acts. The Agent will be installed without any special setup. In addition, it can replace roles of Watermarking as a protection. Therefore, this paper shows the solution of illegal copies that happens frequently.
