Performance Improvement of VHF Train Radio Transmitter by Using Vibration-Proof Pads

This paper focuses the performance improvement of the train radio system (TRS) supporting the safe and accurate operations. The causes of troubles and the performance drift in TRS have been analyzed and measurement indexes have been selected. Frequency shifts of transmitters causing from train vibrations have been shown, and the improvement of frequency stability has been confirmed by use of vibration- proof pads.
Noise Cancellation and Detection of Heartbeat using A New Adaptive Noise Canceller Based on ALE(Adaptive Line Enhancer) in the CW Bio-radar

This paper proposes a CW(Continuous-Wave) bio-radar applying a new adaptive noise canceller based on ALE(Adaptive Line Enhancer) which can remove the Gaussian noise and system noise. Recently the research works on this CW bio-radar which can be used to detect heartbeat and respiration are advanced by the university and research facility. Although the researches describe CW bio-radar not only is vulnerable for the Gaussian noise but also has a disadvantage of decreasing the heart-rate accuracy due to the noise, the researches do not demonstrate the effective method for removing the noise component in a baseband signal. In this paper, a CW bio-radar applying the new adaptive noise canceller based on ALE which can remove the noise component is proposed. This paper compares and analyzes the performance for increasing the heart-rate accuracy according to removing the Gaussian noise and system noise in the baseband signal through the quadrature receiver which can alleviate the demodulation sensitivity to target position.
UAV Communication System Development by Heterogeneous Mobile Communication System

This monograph details the development of communication UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) in combined modems of HSDPA with Wibro by using two kinds of mobile network. In order to apply mobile network which is currently serviced to a UAV, it is necessary to solve some problems : insurance of wide coverage based on the range of the UAV, electrical transmission of extensive image data for UAV for watching and scouting, security of stable communication environment is related to network traffic. This paper proposes those difficulties to be solved by application of correspondence system to mobile network. The proposed system consists of two parts; HSDPA part and Wibro part. The use of those can not only secure wide range of coverage but also transmit huge data. Furthermore, through utilizing them along with two kinds of mobile network, stable communication environment can be built up. All of these effects can be confirmed by experimentations and simulations.
Implementation of the Hand-motion Recognition based Auxiliary Input Device using Gyro Sensor

In this paper, we have designed the auxiliary input device which based on hand-motion recognition. It is aimed at some individually specified person such as the disabled, rehabilitation patient, and the aged. The gyro sensor is used to recognize the hand-motion in 3D space, and communication bandwidth for transceiver is also set to the 2.4GHz. Prototype board includes a set of modules; Gyro sensor, RF transmitter/receiver, MCU for signal processing and USB connector etc. Some experiments are conducted so as to verify the prototype, and as a result, mouse-based curser motion as well as program control are well operated just same as the design specification.
A Design of 256GB volume DRAM-based SSD(Solid State Drive)

In this paper, we designed and analyzed 256GB DRAM-based SSD storage using DDR1 memory and PCI-e interface. SSD is a storage system that uses DRAM or NAND Flash as primary storage media. Since the SSD read and write data directly to memory chips, which results in storage speeds far greater than conventional magnetic storage devices, HDD. Architecture of the proposed SSD system has performance of high speed data processing duo to use multiple RAM disks as primary storage and PCI-e interface bus as communication path of RAM disks. We constructed experimental system with UNIX, Windows/Linux server, SAN Switch, and Ethernet Switch and measured IOPS and bandwidth of proposed SSD using IOmeter. In experimental results, it has been shown that IOPS, 470,000 and bandwidth,800MB/sec of the DDR-1 SSD is better than those of the HDD and Flash-based SSD.
A Study on the Coherent IR UWB System for Location-Aware in Ubiquitous Environment

In this paper, we have investigated the technology of location-aware applicable for ubiquitous environment and considered IEEE 802.15.4a IR UWB of location-aware WPAN specification which is capable of both communication of 1Mbps and wireless localization. We analyzed both system structure and the characteristic of transmission pulse as comprising of the transmitter for wireless localization of IR UWB.
Joint Source/Channel Rate Control based on Adaptive Frame Skip for Real-Time Video Transmission

In this study, we propose a joint source/channel rate control algorithm for video encoder targeting packet erasure channel. Based on the buffer constraints of video communication systems, encoding rate constraint is presented. After defining source distortion models for coded and skipped video frames and a channel distortion model for packet errors and their propagation, an average distortion model of received video is proposed for a given encoding window. Finally, we define an optimization problem to minimize the average distortion for given channel rates and packet loss rates by controlling spatio-temporal parameters of source video and FEC block sizes. Then, we propose a window-based algorithm to solve the problem in real-time.
An Mobile-OTP(One Time Password) Key and Simulation using Fingerprint Features

As the applications within Internet and Ubiquitous becoming more extensive, the security issues of those applications are appearing to be the most important concern. Therefore, every part of the system should be thoroughly designed and mutually coordinated in order to support overall security of the system. In this paper, we propose new technique which uses the fingerprint features in order to generate Mobile One Time Passwords(OTPs). Fingerprint is considered to be one of the powerful personal authentication factors and it can be used for generating variable passwords for one time use. Also we performed a simulation of homomorphic graph variable of fingerprint feature point using dendrogram and distribution of fingerprint feature points for proposed password generation method.
Performance Analysis of DS-CDMA System in Millimeter-Wave Fading Channel

In this paper, we proposed the radio wave propagation characteristics of the next-generation ultrafast wireless communication system in millimeter-wave fading channel. For considering doppler shift and Rayleigh fading simultaneously, the fading simulator of Jakes model implemented and analyzed the performance of the next-generation wireless communication system. In addition, the error rate characteristics of DS-CDMA system analyzed in the millimeter-wave fading channel and the system performance improved by coding technique and diversity technique.
Separated Dual-layering Routing Scheme (SDRS) for Hierarchical Wireless Sensor Networks

Most of clustering schemes focusing on the energy efficiency have only a cluster head in each cluster, thus the energy consumption of cluster head in a cluster can rapidly increase. To reduce the energy consumption, recently, the dual-layered clustering which is separated a cluster ranges into two parts, i.e., data aggregation layer and data transmission layer, based on a sensor equipped with geographical positioning system (GPS), was proposed. However, the logical regions existing within the dual-layered clustering range can not distinguish efficiently. This scheme leads to many messages collision and transmission delay among member nodes. In this paper, to solve these problems, we propose a separated dual-layered routing scheme using the position information and the cluster radius. Proposed scheme clearly distinguish the dual-layered clustering range and gets the balanced number of member nodes in each cluster. Therefore, the proposed routing scheme could prolong the overall network life time about 10% compared to the previous two layered clustering scheme and LEACH.
Increase of Transmission Distance in 1 Tbps WDM Transmission System

The implementation possibility and increasement of transmission distance of 1 Tbps WDM transmission systems through the applying optical link configuration with inline dispersion management (DM) and optical phase conjugator (OPC) is investigated. When the considered optical link configuration is applied into
Gbps WDM transmission system and the optimal net residual dispersions (NRDs) depending on transmission length are decided, the effective transmission distanceis highly increased than that resulted in same system with fixed 0 ps/nm NRD in all transmission length. And, design rule of inline DM optical link is also shown through inducing the effective range of precompensation and postcompensation depending on transmission distance and launching power of WDM channel.
A Study on the Between Service Quality of National Airline Sales Promotion Event and Customer Satisfaction

The primary purpose of this study is not only to understand the concept of event service quality but also to identify the service experimental factor for the better measure of sales promotion event service quality. The major findings from the study were as follows: There was difference influence power in event service quality, the experimental factor is more important than prior service quality factors such as reliability, assurance, tangibles, empathy and responsiveness. Also, customer's satisfaction was influenced by their behavioral intention such as overall reusing intention and recommendation intention. In conclusion, this study is especially meaningful that experimental factor is more important than prior service quality factors and will help the airline marketing staff in charge to build up their strategy for maintaining customer. And it is hoped that this study has been helpful to comprehend relationship among the service quality factor that have strong effects on increasing airline's profitability.
U-health wellbeing index system design for health care of crew on ships

Various studies on individual health-care application services have been lively going on due to recent development of information and communication technology and improvement of life quality. Moreover, U-health care area is emerging as a new growth industry as the demand of U-health care service for a quality life grows with the development of medical technology and ubiquitous environment. U-health care system for crew members on ships, who need to spend much time on sea far from their families, is especially needed because they find their job much more stressful not only physically but also mentally than any other people in different jobs do and have less chance to get proper medical services in time. In this paper, we suggested how to get more accurate and objective U-health wellbeing index by complementing SF-36, the general heath care index model in order to managing health of crew. Also we designed the U-health wellbeing index service system which can provide appropriate sports programs or diet contents according to health index.

Indifferentiable Security Analysis of Several Hash Domain Extensions

We provide indifferentiable security analyses of pfMD, MDP, WPH, EMD, NI and CS hash domain extensions and their truncated versions. Unlike previous analytic techniques, the analytic technique considered in this paper is simple and easy. Moreover, the analytic technique can be generally applied to any types of hash domain extensions. That means that the technique can be used as an analyzing tool for any new developed hash function.
