The Development of AtoN Monitoring System with AIS Viewer

The AtoN is subsidiary navigation facilities for ship to navigate safely. AtoN includes signs of visual, sound, special and radio. Receltly as GNSS and AIS are developed rapidly, AtoN has been considered as a promising candidate technique for ensuring fairway safety of ship. However, present AtoN systems are not adopted to ship fully, but are adopted to ship partly, and total management systems are not installed. In this study, AtoN Monitoring system based on AIS is developed. It consists of AIS system and AIS viewer program. In the system AIS gathers data of AtoN and ship information and AIS viewer is a program that plots AIS data on ECDIS.
A Study on the Monitoring of VOR

VHF Omnidirectional Radio range(VOR) is used as an aircraft navigational aid. The VOR is a short-range air navigation system providing aircraft with its bearing relative to the ground station. The accuracy of a VOR must be checked in accordance with the current ICAO, FAA and domestic regulations. The primary purpose of performing VOR station ground checks is to minimize the need for expensive flight checks by determining the amount and direction of any course bearing inaccuracies being transmitted. In this paper we present current and advanced way of monitoring of VOR system. We verify this way by field test of the monitoring and it is a high performance way to achieve an improvement in accuracy and an effect compared to present monitoring system.
The Development of MFD with CDTI Using the MIL-STD-1553B Data Bus

Preparing for the rapidly increment of air traffic volume of the 21st century, International Civi1 Aviation Organization(ICAO) started for studying a newly developed CNS/ATM System from the 1980s and after 2010, expect that the existing aeronautical facility is overloaded because air traffic volume increase rapidly. For this reason new CNS/ATM System will be the international standard system in the future. Especially, ADS-B(Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast) as the key component of Surveillance and ATM in new CNS/ATM System provides the real-time and same air traffic information to pilots in the aircraft cockpit, air traffic controllers on the ground and surface vehicles at the same time. Information provided is displayed precisely and accurately through Multi-Function Display(MFD). We implement the MFD system being supporting for new CNS/ATM System. And we show the good performance of MFD system in labortory environment using the MIL-STD-1553B data bus.
The Design and Implementation of the Motorized Valve Control System using CANopen Protocol

This paper deals with the design and development of the motorized valve control system using CANopen protocol. The CAN network protocol is used in the physical layer(layer 1) and data link layer(layer 2), and other upper network layer above that layer 1 and 2 utilize the CANopen protocol in this paper. The motorized valve controller is implemented by a PIC microprocessor, and the server application software for the control system user is written in C# language. In particular the CANopen protocol is widely used int the area such as ship automation systems and marine transportation systems. The experimental result of the proposed control system implemented in this paper is evaluated via real-time experiments, which works well as designed.
Design and Implementation of Baseband Modem Receiver for MIMO-OFDM Based WLANs

In this paper, an efficient algorithm and area-efficient hardware architecture have been proposed for
MIMO-OFDM based WLAN baseband modem with two transmit and two receive antennas. To enhance the performance of the receiver, the efficient timing synchronization algorithm and symbol detector based on MML algorithm are presented. Also, by sharing the hardware block with multi-stage pipeline structure and using the complex multiplier based on polar-coordinate, the complexity of the proposed architecture is dramatically decreased. The proposed area-efficient hardware design was designed in hardware description language (HDL) and synthesized to gate-level circuits using 0.13um CMOS standard cell library. As a result, the complexity of the proposed modem receiver is reduced by 56% over the conventional architecture.
A Study on Development of the GPIR system Receiver Using G-Files

GPIR(GPS Position Information Revision) system is a new concept of GPS system which utilizes database containing the location of taking a picture by the existing GPS, an angle between a camera and a subject and the location information of buildings and minimizes the GPS's own margin of error and there by provides the services, such as location-guiding via GPS and way-guiding via navigation in an exact and precision way more than before. GPIR system comprehends the location of taking photos via GPS information saved in G-files, searches database in the direction of taking a photo at a photo-taking position via location information and the photo-taking directional angle. And GPIR system corrects the GPS information searched to the location of a subject, again saves such information in a G-file and is ready for receiving more detailed location of the subject. This study explores into the design and development of a receiver which a GPIR user is able to utilize its system as well as the design of the receiver's prototypes.
Congestion Detection and Avoidance for Reliable Data Transmission in Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless Sensor Network is an event-driven system that a large number of micro sensor nodes are collected, giving and Wing information. Congestion can take place easily since a great number of sensor nodes are sensing data and transferring them to sink nodes when an event occurs, comparing to the existing wired network. Current internet transport protocol is TCP/UDP, however, this is not proper for wireless sensor network event-driven ESRT, STCP and CODA are being studied for reliable data transport in the wireless sensor network. Congestion are being detected local buffer and channel loading with these techniques. Broadcasting is mainly used and can avoid congestion when one happens. The way that combining local buffer and channel loading information and detecting congestion is being studied in this paper. When congestion occurs, buffering state is divided into three in order to lessen the broadcasting sending the message on congestion control to the node having frequent channel loading. Thus they have advantage of decreasing network's loading.
Frequency Adaptive High Efficiency Class-E Amplifier in RFID System

This paper proposes the adaptive class-E power amplifier with maintaining high power added efficiency (PAE) to apply RFID and wireless communication system. This switch mode amplifier is used a microprocessor to control a resonator circuits and to maintain high efficiency in case of input frequency variation. To validate the adaptive amplifier operation, which is a 450MHz operating frequency and a 100MHz bandwidth, the class E amplifier is implemented. As a result, the adaptive amplifier is maintained above 60% efficiency in frequency range and has a 74.8% maximum efficiency.
Transmission Rate-Based Overhead Monitoring for Multimedia Streaming Optimization in Wireless Networks

In the wireless network the congestion and delay occurs mainly when there are too many packets for the network to process or the sender transmits more packets than the receiver can accept. The congestion and delay is the reason of packet loss which degrades the performance of multimedia streaming. This paper proposes a novel transmission rate monitoring-based optimization mechanism to optimize packet loss and to improve QoS. The proposed scheme is based on the trade-off relationship between transmission rate monitoring and overhead monitoring. For this purpose this paper processes a source rate control-based optimization which optimizes congestion and delay. Performance evaluated RED, TFRC, and the proposed mechanism. The simulation results show that the proposed mechanism is more efficient than REC(Random Early Detection) mechanism and TFRC(TCP-friendly Rate Control) mechanism in packet loss rate, throughput rate, and average response rate.
A study on the frequency sharing TA Radio with the RFID in the 900MHz band

In this paper, the frequencies sharing possibility between TA(TalkAround) Radios and RFID system in 900MHz frequency band have been studied. The modulation technic for FHSS(Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) of TA is digital FSK and RFID system adapts digital ASK modulation technic. The communication mode of the tested RFID system for frequencies sharing possibility was FHSS. The field test was performed by five scenarios. The RFID field testing system for the frequencies sharing possibility was composed of four tags and two main devices made in USA. Four TA and Egilant spectrum analyzer was used for testing. The frequencies sharing possibility by differentiated modulation was theoretically analyzed. As result of simulation, it was proved that the frequencies sharing between each other modulation system is possible. And also as result of field testing it was confirmed that the signal of TA Radios have no effect on the signal of RFID system.
An Analysis of Correlation between Voice vowels and Human body

In this paper, the correlation between voice vowels and human body is analysed for the voice therapy and diagnosis. Using vowels('a', 'e', 'i', 'o', 'u'), the vibration signals in head, chest and belly is measured with the voice signal. As the result, it is shown that body characteristics can be checked from some vowels, and the correlation coefficient of body vibration signal and BMI(body mass index) is computed. From the result, using voice signal and body vibrations, the body diagnosis model is proposed.
Implementation of the Man-made Disaster Prevention and Localization Information Monitoring System based on PLC

Since many accidents have been constantly occurring in the workplace, requirements of Industrial Safety Management have also been increasing. In order to meet the needs and prevent the problems in advance, we designed wireless sensor network system based on PLC. This system is set with amain node including PLC Modem and Zigbee in the every workplace and each wireless sensor node is attached to every worker in the workplace. The main node is supposed to transmit and receive sensor data, and the data which is from a wireless sensor node to the main node is delivered to monitoring PC through PLC. In this paper, it is expected that, by perceiving the realtime situation of the work place through this system, we could prevent the problems in advance and reduce damages by accidents.
Study of Multi Function RF Module Using Amplifier and Multiplier

This paper presents some important research result comparisons for multi function RF modules which use amplifier or frequency multiplier. By using multiplier, multi function module can be realized amply in comparison to multi band module which has separate block for each frequency band. Some com paring analysis among the switching method between separate amplifier and multiplier, the structure using frequency selective reflector, and the module using the defected ground structure. The multi function module which operates as amplifier or multiplier with input frequency is developed and input frequency suppression and output harmonics suppression can be improve d by using defected ground structure.
The Case Study on Weighted DB Security Appliance Development

SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprise) have became competitive by improvement of work efficiency due to utilization of DBMS, which is mainly used among large enterprises, but reverse functions such as security events and vulnerabilities have been increasing. SMEs without enough investment on security infrastructure have difficulties with implementing DB security products. Therefore the most of SMEs are exposed to hacking and security accidents defensivelessly. Hence this study offers distributional H/W DB security solution which is affordable for SMEs.
Design and Implementation of Elevator Control and Information System based on Media Streaming Service

Recently, It has enlarged various service requirements for the market of elevator with the environment of IT convergency. In this paper, we propose the information and control system of elevator based on media streaming service that is extended from the existing control system of an elevator. There is the service environments based on Internet for architecture of information communication in the framework of the suggested streaming service. We use this framework to operate and integrate the various services of elevator system. And also, we so apply to the user requirements easily that we can construct the smart elevator environment by convergence home network and various electronic devices based on IT.
Improved Strong Password Mutual Authentication Protocol to Secure on Replay Attack

In public network, user authentication is important security technology. Especially, password-based authentication method is used the most widely in distributed environments, and there are many authentication methods. Their SPMA protocol indicates vulnerability about problem that NSPA protocol does not offer mutual authentication, and proposed Strong Password Mutual Authentication protocol with mutual authentication. However, SPMA protocol has vulnerability of replay attack. In the paper, we analyzed vulnerability to replay attack of SPMA protocol. And we also proposed Improved Strong Password Mutual Authentication protocol to secure on replay attack with same efficiency.
A Development of Recycling Technology of Solar Cell Wafering Slurry

68% of the manufacturing costs of solar cell wafer can be attributed to the slurry. The recycling of slurries is mandatory for reducing the costs of manufacturing wafering production, and the disposal of industrial waste, as well as for cutting down pollution levels. Slurries are currently being recycled using the centrifuge(decanter) method. However, this method is less than optimal as it does not completely remove the fine particles, leading to low quality. Also, be cause of the incomplete separation from the oil, it causes the impurities in the dried slurries. This study aims to develope a new recycling technology that overcomes the flaws of the centrifuge by utilizing chemicals. It will provide a total solution to the crucial process of recycling slurries in the making of solar cell wafer, by increasing the efficiency and renewable rate.
Design of Context-Aware System for Status Monitoring of Semiconductor Equipment

In this paper, we propose a system which can perceive status of semiconductor equipment and evaluate its performance. The proposed system acquires the information such acceleration, pressure, temperature and gas sensors in the surrounding semiconductor equipment. After acquiring information, it is sent to server through multi hop transmission. The transmitted data generates 3 steps alarm using context-aware algorithm of unit or multiple event. From the experiment's result of the proposed system, we confirm that the reliability and efficiency of information is more improved about 80% than a system that doesn't use context-aware algorithm. Moreover, this system can be effective status monitoring of semiconductor equipment because lots of client nodes acquire surrounding information.
A Study on the Bio-response to the Underthreshold Stimulation

The signal transmission of human body is processed by the action potential from each cell unit. This kind of action potential is taken place and transmitted by the ions through cell membrane, and ultimately explained as an electrical signal concept. The fact that the information is established as an electrical status as well as various senses from the bio-organozm has been addressed through several studies. By the way, this nervous transmission relation has been described and analyzed qualitatively in the mean time. I established new algorithm to analyze these relations quantitatively and implemented them using existing bio-data in this paper. The study, however, was limited to underthreshold potential to excite the nervous system against the outer stimulation. This is very much analog to electrical transient of the switching circuit, and therefore, I analyzed it based on this analog. I made it clear that the results derived here is the basis further study topic.
Simplified Approach for Distortion Estimation in H.264

This paper addressed an another scheme of distortion estimation method based on simplified inverse quantization in H.264/AVC. The distortion is calculated by the difference of coefficient between quantized transform coefficients and that of inverse. In general, these process included such transforms as discrete cosine transform(DCT), quantization, inverse quantization(IQ), and Inverse DCT(IDCT). In proposed approach, IQ as well as IDCT process are skipped because of replacing a couple of approximated formulas. Some simulation have been conducted and it showed that the PSNR was almost the same, and reduced the rate-distortion optimization(RDO) mode decision time of 8~15% in comparison with conventional method.
LCD Module Initialization and Panel Display for the Virtual Screen of LN2440SBC Embedded Systems

In case of an embedded system with computing resource restrictions such as system power and cpu, the overhead due to displaying data on the computer screen may have a significant influence on the system performance. This paper describes an initialization method for LCD-driving components such as an ARM Core, an LCD controller, and an SPI(serial peripheral interface). It also introduces a pixel display function and a panel display method using virtual screen for reducing the display overhead for an LN2440SBC system with an ARM9-based S3C2440A microprocessor. A virtual screen is a large space of computer memories allocated much larger than those needed for one-time display of an image. Displaying a specific region of a virtual screen is done by assigning it as a view-port region. Such a display is useful in an embedded system when concurrently running tasks produce and display their respective results on the screen; it is especially so when the execution result of each task is partially modified, instead of being totally modified, on its turn and displayed. If the tasks running on such a system divide and make efficient use of the region of the virtual screen, the display overhead can be minimized. For the performance comparison with and without using the virtual screen, two different images are displayed in turn and the amount of time consumed for their display is measured. The result shows that the display time of the former is about 5 times faster than that of the latter.
