Comparison of Regional Navigation System using GSO Satellites

The objective of this study is to evaluate a feasibility of navigation systems appropriate for the Asia-Pacific region. As an independent navigation system, four, five, and six geosynchronous satellite constellations are simulated to provide a navigation system for the region and dilutions of precision of the proposed systems are analyzed and compared.
A Study on the Compliance Evaluation for Design of an Aircraft Generator

In this paper, the design data of an aircraft generator have been reviewed to evaluate the compliance with the airworthiness standards, and the technical procedure to ensure safety and reliability of an alternate-current generator by the tests and computations have been developed.
Enhancement of the Ultrasonic Image Using the Adaptive Window Log Filter for NDI of Aircraft Composite Materials

In this paper, we propose an enhancement of the ultrasonic image for non-destructive inspection of aircraft composite materials. The ultrasonic images are corrupted by a speckle noise which has the characteristic of granular pattern noise and is in all types of coherent imaging systems, the signal independent and multiplicative noise. In this paper, we derive a filter, called the AWLF(Adaptive Window Log Filter), from the nature of the speckle. The filter is made of the MEAN Filter in the edge region and Log Filter in the flat or noise region. To make a distinction between edge and flat region, we calculate the inclination around the local window instead of computing the local statistics of pixels such as local mean
and standard deviation
. According to the obtained region, edge region is performed by the mean filter and flat region by the Log filter. Performance of the proposed filter is evaluated by the Enhanced Factor
and the Speckle Index(SI).
Development of Checklist for the Selecting Optimum Light Airplane by the AHP

To decide the type of airplane to purchase in air service agencies is a typical matter of multi-criteria decision making process. The selection of airplane type is very important because it has great impact on the budget and management of air service agency, once the decision has been made. AHP is being recognized as one of many effective methods of multi-criteria decision making processes. In this study, checklist for the selecting optimum type of light airplane to be purchased is developed by the AHP.
A Study on the relative Efficiency of ATC Towers in Domestic Airports

Air Traffic Control Tower is one of the most important units in Airport operation. It provides services related to safe and efficient traffic flows that control aircraft on the ground maneuvering area and terminal airspace. Also It is responsible for managing of ground operators. The major objective of this study is to evaluates relative efficiency of ATC towers in Domestic airports using data envelopment analysis so that it helps the ATC authority to improve the tower efficiency, to decide the level of benchmarking target and to establish the best alternative. The results of this study are the following; First, as a result of analysis for the potential improvement, it has analysed that the common problems of each ATC tower are to increase its number of flight and to reduce its number of runway followed by airside area, the number of air traffic controller and the number of stand. Second, it has shown that the each tower in RKPC(8), RKPT(5), RKPK(l) and RKSS(l) are used as the reference set. Especially, the tower in RKPC analyzed as a relatively efficient unit is the most main target for the towers in RKTU, RKTH, RKPS and RKTY to do bench marking and to set up the strategy for improving relative efficiency of the tower. Third, tower is actually not able to control the input and output data in this study except the number of controller, so that ATC authority is recommended to improve inefficiency of the towers through handling the number of controller.
A study on the regulation and means of compliance for the ozone concentration in the cabin

This study is to identify the hazard of ozone and to evaluate ozone effect that is flowed into the cabin when the airplane is flying at high altitude. For this purpose, it is studied that how ozone is generated in the air, what the effect on human body is due to the cabin ozone and what the design criteria is considering or preventing the ozone hazard. And, finally the regulations and means of compliance are studied and introduced to assure that the aircraft satisfies the design criteria related to ozone
The analysis of flight data of B747-400 aircraft with Missed Approach

This study is performed to secure the safety of civil aviation by establishing systematic analysis ability of Flight Data Recorder. Through this study, readouting UFDR(Universal Flight Data Recorder) to personal computer, flight data numerical analysis and regulations of Missed Approach. In the analysis, the flight data of B747-400 model aircraft with Missed Approach in San Francisco(KSFO) was selected.
