Reliability of Measurement Estimation in Altitude Engine Test

The altitude engine test is a sort of engine performance tests carried out to measure the performance of a engine at the simulated altitude and flight speed environments prior to that at the flight test. During the performance test of a engine, various values such as pressures and temperatures at different positions, air flow rate, fuel flow rate, and the load by thrust are measured. These measured values are used to derive the representative performance values such as the net thrust and the specific fuel consumption through a momentum equation. Hence each of the measured values has certain effects on the total uncertainty of the performance values. In this paper, the combined standard uncertainties of the performance variables at the engine test were estimated by the uncertainty analysis of the measurement values and the repeatability and reproducibility of the altitude test measurement were assessed by the analysis of variation on the repeated test data with different operator groups.
Aerodynamic Analysis Automation and Analysis Code Verification of an Airfoil in the Transonic Region

Aerodynamic analysis of an airfoil in the transonic region was automated in order to enable parametric study by using the journal file of the commercial analysis code FLUENT, pre/post process Gambit and computational mathematics code MATLAB. The analysis results of a pressure coefficient were verified by comparing with the experimental data which were measured in terms of chord length because the pressure coefficient of an airfoil surface is a good estimator of flow characteristics. The results of two airfoils show that this analysis code is useful enough to be used in the design optimization of airfoil.
Analysis of the Frictional Behavior of Rubber Block

The friction and wear of tire determined by frictional behavior of tire tread that translate driving force, cornering force and braking force between automobile and road as a result of frictional behavior of each tread block. The tire tread block is representative case of rubber block doing frictional behavior. In this paper, frictional behavior of rubber block under compressive force and shear force was analytically obtained by using slip starting position parameter instead of friction coefficient which is uncertain to express exact value between rubber and other surfaces yet. And local coefficients of friction were calculated as a function of compressive force, shear force, shear modulus of rubber, shape factor and slip starting position.
Fluid-Structure Interaction Analysis of SEMAS for Boeing 787

SEMAS(Smart Electro-Mechanical Actuation System), which enhances the flight performance and interior comforts of the airplane is selected as the prime actuation device for the Boeing 787 Environmental Control System. In the present study, fluid-structure interaction analysis process that simultaneously considers interaction by structural deformation and the fluid dynamics has been established. The integrated analysis shows there is slight structure-deformation which causes no severe interference among the structural components.
Estimating the Impacts of Air Transportation Industry on National Economy

The purpose of this study is to analyze how much Air Transportation Industry contribute to national economy by measuring economic spreading effects of Air Transportation Industry on national economy. To achieve the purpose of the study, the study uses an Air Transportation Input-Output Table of year 2000 of korea. The results shows that Air Transportation Industry induce 274,530.8 billion won of national production, import inducement 13,7073.7 billion won, value-added 110,994.9 billion won, especially Air Transportation Industry shows that production inducement coefficient is 1.36803, import inducement coefficient is 0.60581, value-added coefficient is 0.45189, income inducement coefficient is 0.18599 and employment inducement coefficient is 0.00841.
An Exploratory Study on the Customer Satisfaction of e-Ticket Process

This study investigates how airline customers evaluate e-ticket process newly adopted by many of airlines. Customers are highly satisfied with the easy of confirmation on their itineraries and the channel provided through while they are worry about the likelihood of leakage of personal information during e-ticket process. Highly experienced customers on the usage of e-ticket are more concerned about ancillary aspects such as visual image of I.T.R(Itinerary and Receipt) and travel information than functional aspect such as easy of confirmation on itinerary. And also experienced customers are more likely to repurchase e-ticket and when purchasing tickets they do it through internet and call center of airlines rather than travel agencies and ticket office of airlines.
A Study on Development and Performance Test of an Air Purify-sterilizer

The air purity-sterilizer was developed and the CFD and experimental studies were carried out in order to investigate the performance of a air purity-sterilizer. Overhaul and exchange efficiency were increased by the modularization of the air purity-sterilizer. The good performance was validated by the hot-wire measurements and flow simulations in the room. Mean velocities at the exit of the air purity-sterilizer were 0.91, 1.62, 1.99, and 6.14 m/sec according to the fan mode. And the flow visualization of pured air was shown by using CFD flow simulation in the room of 24, 50 pyeong. The results show that the air purity-sterilizer has a high performance enough to produce air purity-sterilizer on a commercial scale.
