Isolation and Cultivation of Particular Cell Organism from Human Placenta and Umbilical Cord

It was proposed that the substance of Kyungrak is a new anatomic-histological system in the living body and entirely different either from the nervous system or blood and lyphatic vessels. This system is covering the whole body, regulating and coordinating the biological processes that lie at the bottom of the vital activity. One of the substance of Kyungrak is acublast. The aim of this study was to isolate and culture the acublast from human placenta or blood of umbilical cord. It was found that particular cell organism isolate from placenta and cultured with RPMI 1640 contaning 10% FBS and hormones was grown for four weeks. Although this organism was different from blood cells morphologically, biochemical study of the organism is required to identify as the acublast.
Effect of Cnidium officinale Makino Aqua-acupuncture Solution on Carcinogen-induced Carcinogenesis in In vitro

The effects of Cnidium officinale Makino aqua-acupuncture solution (COMAS) and Cnidium officinale Makino water-extraced solution (COMWS) on the CYP1A1 activity and benzo[a]pyrene(B[a]P)-DNA adduct formation were examined. There were 6.8%, 12.1%, 15.1%, 18.3% and 22.6% inhibition in the activity of cytochrome 4501A1 enzyme with the treatment of
COMAS, respectively. At concentration of
COMAS, the binding of
metabolites to DNA of NCTC-clone 1469 cell was significantly inhibited by 56.9%. These results suggest that COMAS has chemopreventive potential by inhibiting cytochrome P4501A1 activity and benzo[a]pyrene-DNA adduct formation.
Anatomy of Large Intestine Meridian Muscle in human

This study was carried to identify the component of Large Intestine Meridian Muscle in human, dividing into outer, middle, and inner part. Brachium and antebrachium were opened widely to demonstrate muscles, nerve, blood vessels and the others, displaying the inner structure of Large Intestine Meridian Muscle. We obtained the results as follows; 1. Meridian Muscle is composed of the muscle, nerve and blood vessels. 2. In human anatomy, it is present the difference between a term of nerve or blood vessels which control the muscle of Meridian Muscle and those which pass near by Meridian Muscle. 3. Effect of Acupuncture
on Acute Cocaine-induced locomotor Activity and Fos-like Immunoreactivity in the Brain of the Rats

Substantial evidence suggests that behavioral and reinforcing effects of cocaine can be mediated by the mesolimbic dopaminergic system. Injections of cocaine can produce one of the immediate-early gene, c-fos expression in the brain and behavioral activation. Acupuncture as a therapeutic intervention is widely used for the treatment of many mental disorders such as drugs of abuse. In order to investigate whether acupuncture has an influence on cocaine-induced reinforcing and behavioral effects, we examined the effect of acupuncture on cocaine-induced locomotor activity and c-Fos expression in the nucleus accumbens and the striatum using Fos-like-immunoreactivity(FLI). Male SD rats received acupuncture for 1 min after injection of cocaine hydrochloride(1 mg/kg, i.v.). The employed acupuncture point, Shenmen
, has been clinically used to treat mental and psychosomatic disorders. Injections of cocaine produced a marked increase in locomotor activity and FLI in the nucleus accumbens and the striatum. Acupuncture at
, but not at control points(
or tail), significantly attenuated cocaine-induced increase in locomotor activity and Fos-like immunoreactivity. These results demonstrated that reduction in locomotor activity by acupuncture may be reflected by reduction of postsynaptic neuronal activity in the nucleus accumbens and the striatum. Our results suggest that acupuncture may have a therapeutic effect on cocaine addiction.
Effects of Electroacupuncture of GB30 on Transient Forebrain Ischemia Injury in Rats

Acupuncture and herbal medicine have been used to prevent and treat the cerebrovascular accident, such as a stroke, and many studies of acupuncture and moxibustion concerning to the stroke have been undertaken in the human and various animals. However, it was not published the protective effect of the electroacupuncture (EA) of Huan-do (GB30) on the transient forebrain ischemia injury. The neuroprotective effects of EA (2 ms, 10 Hz, and 1 - 2 mA) of GB30 on the transient forebrain ischemia injury was investigated by western blot of nNOS and hematoxylin and eosin stain in Sprague-Dawley rats. The transient forebrain ischemia injury resulted in increased expression of nNOS in the brain for 6 hrs after ischemia, and EA decreased significantly expression of nNOS protein in brain increased by transient forebrain ischemia injury. The survived neuronal cell stained with hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) decreased in the hippocampus by the 7 days after ischemia comparing with the normal. Comparing with the normal, the survived neurons seriously decreased cell in the hippocampus after the injury. However, the proportion of survived neurons was increased in EA treatment. These results suggest that EA of GB30 have neuroprotective effects on transient forebrain ischemia injury.
The Effect of LR3 Acupuncture on Blood Pressure and C-fos Expression in Hypertensive Rats Induced by 2K1C

The frequency of the hypertension is increasing as the life level is improved and an average span of the life is extended since we approached modern stage. The hypertension is also dangerous disease which raises fatal complication for example with the bleeding aproplexy and the ischemic attack. The medicinal treatment about the hypertension is required patients to take continually. The acupuncture have been introduced because a medicine-chemical treatment hasn't good influence on the human body. It recently has been processed that studies acupuncture effect for blood pressure and have been found out that blood pressure go down. The object of this study observe the effect of LR3 acupuncture on hypertension in Renal Hypertension RAT induced by 2K1C. The 2K1C model was based on renin-angiotensin system. We put the silver clip in renal artery to induce renal hypertension. We try to observe that LR3 acupuncture influence on the blood pressure and c-fos expression in CVLM, NTS, RVLM. In results, the blood pressure was decreased during acupuncture than before acupuncture, after acupuncture. The heart rate was also decreased during acupuncture than before acupuncture, after acupuncture. The LR3 acupuncture significantly effects on blood pressure and heart rate (P<0.05). The increased expression of c-fos was shown in CVLM, NTS, but not in RVLM. In conclusion, LR3 was relived the action of control upon the hypertension and related with medulla, particularly CVLM, NTS. It needs to be closely examined pharmacological mechanism and studied combination with other acupoints.

A Clinical Study on the Effects of a Few Herbs on the Ovarian Tumor in Ultrasonographic Appearance

In order to investigate the effects of Gamikyuchoolpajingtang(GMKCPT) and Gamibojungikgitand(GBIKT) on the ovarian tumor, the ultrasonographic appearance were studied in a few patients. the results obtained were follows : 1. The administration of Gamikyuchoolpajingtang(GMKCPT) reduced significantly tumor's size in corpus uteri and uterus. 2. The administration of Gamibojungikgitang(GBIKT) reduced significantly size in the ovarian. 3. The tumors of ovarian and uterus seem to be connected with Seven Emotions. 4. In this study, it is suggested big tumors over 10cm can be treated as herbal prescription. From above findings, it is suggested that Gamikyuchoolpajingtang(GMKCPT) and Gamibojungikgitang(GBIKT) seem to reduce significantly tumor's size.
The Study of Literature on the Symptoms of Liver Channel

In the oriental medicine, the biological mechanism and pathogenic change have been based on the meridian. A Liver channel of those belong to the wood in the five element system, the Leg channel of the twelve primary channels, Absolute Yin(厥陰) in the three Yin channels and connect with Liver organ. Through the study on a liver channel, the results were as follows. Leg Absolute Yin is indicated for disease affecting the lower abdomen, uro-genital system, knee and thigh. Bibliographic Study on the Interrelation between Dong Shi' Acupuncture and Twelve Regular Channels

In the clinics of traditional medicine, various acupuncture methods, that is Sa-Am' acupuncture, scalp acupuncture, auricular acupuncture and Dong-Shi' acupuncture, have been introduced and increased gradually to treat the diseases. In this bibliographic study, we examined the interrelation between the Dong Shi' acupuncture and 12 regular channels. The theoretical origination of Dong Shi' acupuncture and 12 regular channels was applied from Yin and Yang, Five Element, State of Viscera and so on. As the treatment using by 12 regular channels have used to 'regulating Qi and Treating Shin (調氣治神)', Dong Shi' acupuncture have used to the itself defense mechanism and relative balance of human beings. Also, these methods have the same rules that was selected to the opposing needling (巨刺) of remote point selection, however, Ah-Shi' points (阿是穴) were not used for the selection. Of Dong-Shi' acu-points, there were many ones which have the same location as the acupoints of regular channels. However, these one was renamed according to the new characteristics and therapeutics found by Dong Shi. Dong Shi' acupuncture has divided human body to the 12 areas but not considered to the concept of a mutual connection of human being body. The needling manipulation methods were vary at the regular channels, but Dong Shi' acupuncture did not use the traditional manipulation method except for supplementary Dong-Qi acupuncture, To-Ma acupuncture and To-In acupuncture. From these study, we found that the Dong-Shi' acupuncture have something in common with 12 regular channels, although the Dong-Shi' acupuncture was not based on the theory of 12 regular channels.
The Study of Literature on Moxa Treatment of Melancholia

Objective : This study was undertaken to review the moxa treatment of melancholia. Method : We referred to records from ancient to modern. Results : The results of this study were obtained as follows ; 1. It reveals that the common symptoms of melancholia shows chronic weakness and coldness generally, and moxibustion is effective for making body warm. 2. It reveals that HT8(少府), LR1(大敦), PC7(大陵), ST36(足三里) are used much for the treatment of melancholia, and the common characters of the above points are freshing mind, refreshing chest, controlling digestive energy etc. 3. It reveals that pericardium meridian, liver meridian, heart meridian are used much in moxa treatment of melancholia. Conclusion : These results indicate that moxa treatment is effective to treatment of melancholia.
A Study of Literature on Acupuncture Treatments for the Skin Disease(Eunjin)

Medical concept of the skin disease is a symptom like itchs. It outbreakes by immunologic and nonimmunologic mechanisms. The most common case is hypersensitive reaction intermediated by IgE. Other case of immunologic mechanism includes activation of the complement system. Autoimmune antibodies for histamine-secreting mast cell IgE receptors are found in some patients suffer from chronic skin paroxysm. Most common causes of acute skin paroxysm are foods, viruses, parasite infections and drugs. Causes of chronic skin paroxysm are undiscovered. Air pollution, simplification of eating habits, habitual eating of convenience food; drug abuse in present days made skin disease more common. Now many methods of acupunctural treatments are being used clinically. So this report presents some views about acupunctural treatments for the Skin disease.
