Oh, Ju-Young ; Kim, Jang-Hyun ;
The Journal of Pediatrics of Korean Medicine, volume 20, issue 3, 2006, Pages 61~74
Objectives : Nocturnal enuresis is one of common disorders in children. However, there are not a lot of researches going on about this disease, and also standardized criteria for analyzing were insufficient in Korea. Therefore, clinical researches were not in the confidence level. Methods : Korean journals which were published in 1990 to 2006, and online journals about nocturnal enuresis were used for analyzing based on outcome criteria. Results : The International Children's Continence Society and the World Health Organization have published outcome criteria about nocturnal enuresis, but different, often idiosyncratic, outcome criteria and/or definitions have been adopted in published research on treatment for nocturnal enuresis in recent years. But a new set of criteria suggested by Butler, Robinson, and et. al. referred to as a "dryness scale", which focuses on the percentage of dry nights accomplished at a point in time, will be an alternative proposal. These criteria will be of help to make standardized and proper outcome criteria in oriental medical studies. Conclusions : Agreed standardized outcome criteria in nocturnal enuresis treatment is needed.

Ahn, Jae-Sun ; Lee, Hai-Ja ; Park, Eun-Jung ;
The Journal of Pediatrics of Korean Medicine, volume 20, issue 3, 2006, Pages 117~127
Objectives : In this study, we investigated the effects of Daehwangmokdanpitang-gagambang(DMG) on treatment for cholecystokinin-octapeptide(CCK)-induced acute pancreatitis(AP) in rats. Methods : Male Wistar rats weighing 200 to 250 g were divided into three groups. The first was normal untreated group, the second was in treatment with DMG group; DMG was administered orally, followed by 75
CCK subcutaneously three times, after 1, 3 and 5 h. This whole procedure was repeated for 5 days. The third was in treatment with saline group, the protocol was the same as in treatment group with DMG. We determined the pancreatic weight/body weight ratio, the levels of pancreatic HSP60, HSP72, ERK, p38 MAPK and the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Repeated CCK treatment resulted in the typical laboratory and morphological changes of experimentally induced pancreatitis. Results : DMG was significantly decreased the pancreatic weight/body weight ratio in CCKinduced AP and DMG increased HSP60 and HSP72 compared with CCK-induced AP. DMG suppressed ERK and p38 MAPK activation. Additionally, the secretion of
and the levels of amylase and lipase were lower than that saline. Conclusions : DMG has an effect to treatment for CCK-induced AP.

The Journal of Pediatrics of Korean Medicine, volume 20, issue 3, 2006, Pages 129~141
Objectives : The purpose of this study is to determine clinical efficacy of herbal medicine by evaluating SCORAD Index and total level of ceramaides in the skin of 13 children with atopic dermatitis Methods : Subjects are divided into two groups : Group 1(non-differentiation children treated with Saenghyeoryunbueom) and group 2(differentiation children treated with either pyungwisan, onchungum or gamitongsungsan). We determine SCORAD Index and total level of ceramaides in the skin of 13 children with atopic dermatitis before and after taking each of herbal treatment for 12 weeks. Results : After herbal prescription for 12 weeks, A SCORAD index of both group 1 and group 2 was decreased. However, the total level of ceramides in group 1 and group 2 was not altered after 12 weeks. When the correlation between the alteration of SCORAD index and ceramides levels was determined, the SCORAD index in group 1 was inversely correlated with the total level of ceramides(r=-0.994, p=0.006) In contrast, the alteration of SCORAD index in group 2 was not correlated with ceramide levels. Conclusions : The clinical efficacy of Saenghyeoryunbueom for non-differentiation children with atopic dermatitis is paralleled with the increased level of ceramides in skin. The clinical efficacy of pyungwisan, onchungum or gamitongsungsan for differentiation children with atopic dermatitis is not correlated with ceramide level in skin.

The Journal of Pediatrics of Korean Medicine, volume 20, issue 3, 2006, Pages 143~160
Objectives : As the side effect brought up by internet game addiction, many reports come out, but most of past articles are for middle or high school students. There is seldom a poisoning game treatise to a primary school student, if there is treatise, it is real condition that treatise for lead pipe with psychological reasons is seldom discussion about physical symptoms. This research searches high grade elementary students' game use actual conditions and when divide to general user group, latent danger use group, high dangerous use group, according to serious illness degree of game poisoning, three groups and game poisoning happens, recognized about body symptoms that happen much. Methods : Target population of these questionnaire are fifth and sixth grade elementary student of Seoul city 2 school. Chose 263 elementary students, 144 men, 119 women who understand purpose of research and admit participation is 25 October, 2006 since 1 September, 2006 Results : As poisoning serious illness degree is high, there are many number of game times, much more boys are addicted to internet game than girs, insomnia is apt to happen frequently in game poisoning danger group, and correlation is high by megrim, shoulder ache, digestive trouble. Insomnia, symptoms that show next even if some symptoms show first because there is high correlation between megrim, shoulder ache, digestive trouble is high possibility to happen among four symptoms. Insomnia, megrim, shoulder ache, digestive trouble that happen by internet game poisoning, is apt to increase by increasing addiction. Symptoms treatment can divide by internal treatment that treat insomnia, megrim, digestive trouble, external treatment that is typical symptoms of VDT syndrome shoulder ache, headache, fatigue persimmon. Root treatment is mind symptoms treatment. Game addiction treatment is relationship method 'seven emotions injury treatment' in oriental medicine. 'promote the normal flow of qi' and 'adjustment of suitable emotion' can talk as pivotal point of treatment.
