A Study on Adaptability Inquiry & Promotable Method for the Fire Services Regulation - Permission to Alter a Dangerous Article Factory etc.-

The government is propelling regulatory reform in priority that abrogate & improve administrative regulation. But in spite of many regulatory reform results, successive diminution of regulatory reform is low because that modification of bureaucracy's execution don't support or a concerned group of gain and loss resists. Therefore, this study grasp the present condition at dangerous article factory etc., and would present the promotable method in analysis synthetically & systematically about cognizance, recognition & observance etc of a administrative regulation. As a result of inquiry, In general the adaptability is evaluated highly. This is a natural result because of rapidly economic development, increased demand of a dangerous article and so an increase of riskiness, and showed that the general public recognize riskiness of dangerous article factory etc..
A Study on the Smoke Movement by the Opening and Heat Generator Position

The diffusion characteristics of the smoke by effect of an ascending air movement in a local part of the room where heat generated was studied. How the smoke move in the limited parts of the room at which heat generated was studied through 3 cases altering locations of inlet and outlet of ventilated air and heat generated by CFD(Computational Fluids Dynamics) method. It was found that 1. Similar distribution of air velocity, air temperature and smoke concentration appeared in the case of upper left inlet and lower right outlet and the case of lower inlet and upper right outlet. 2. Distribution of temperature and smoke concentration was 0∼0.3, 0.06∼0.14 in the case of lower left inlet and upper right outlet. 3. the location of heat generation did not influence on the temperature distribution, but influence on the distribution of smoke concentration.

/h for an hour, respectively; By composing Ca and Mn, dopants to lower the resistivity at room temperature, and Nb, a dopant to raise peak resistivity(Ca:5 mol%, Mn:0.08 mol%, Nb:0.18 mol%), appropriately, a PTC thermistor, having the characteristics of relatively low resistivity at room temperature and high peak resistivity and a good temperature coefficient, has been developed. And we find that it is possible of application for fire detection sensor.r.r.
A Study on the Escape Measures and Fire Protection System Improvement in Discount Stores

This study in focused on proposing the improvement plans for refuge and fire-fighting facilities in large shopping malls that are radically spreading. The main subjects are as follows. - The refuge measure for large shopping malls - Problems of installing the refuge facilities in stores and the solutions - Problems of installing the incendiary facilities in stores and the solutions - Problems of installing the indoor fire plug in stores and the solutions As result of the study, it has turned out that escape stairs which are set up according to the standard of size in the process of design plan, have to be decided for their amount, position, specification, etc, in consideration of the number of residents. It is also required to tighten a standard of installing a sprinkler instead of lightening the fire-fighting section in stores, considering obstacles due to facilities installed and procurement of the escape path. In addition, it needs to lighten a standard of installing the indoor fire plug, which is voluntarily set up at the store section incase of installing a sprinkler to make a practical fire-fighting facility available.
Smoke Density and Operation of Fire Detector Influenced by Air Stream

The performance based design in fire detection system, the effect of high airflow and dilution of smoke produced in any fire situation serve to increase the response time of point-type smoke detectors. This study investigated the smoke density of ceiling, under the air stream and in normal status when fire type is smoldering fires. The result of study, smoke generated in the fire was swept away from nearby spot type smoke detector which failed to actuate because dispersed in diluted form around the room. The concept of performance based design in fire detection system of protected area influenced by high airflow provided the need of active fire detection system such as air sampling smoke detection system.

To analyze the effect of fire plume on the characteristics of air flow and
, extinguishant transfer when extinguishant is injected into a closed space similar to a marine engine room with fire plume, a numerical simulation on a space was performed. Flow fields and
, concentration fields are calculated according with the variation of the location of nozzles. In all cases excepting the case of all nozzles located in the right side of ceiling, an counterclockwise & clockwise recirculation flow was found in the region of the right and left side of the nozzle on the second floor and such a recirculation flow greatly affected mass transfer and the diffusion process of
, extinguishant. In the region of the first floor with fire plume, the diffusion process of
, extinguishant was in agreement with the extension process of recirculation flow. It is considered that the result of this study can be useful to designing the arrangement of nozzles for the
fire fighting equipments in a marine engine room.
A Study on the Management Model for Integrated System of Safety Health and Environment a Manufacturing Industry

The enterprise are facing potential SHE(safety, health and environment) of major industrial accidents to cause casualties or a financial loss and increasing social responsibility. So, SHE management system has to be voluntarily accomplished rather than passively with regard to SHE regulation. In this study, KW_SHE(Kwangwoon Safety, Health and Environment) management model is developed which materialize self-regulation SHE management system of individual work-place by the research and analysis of many domestic enterprise. This KW_SHE management model is intend to assess work-product vs. management expenses investment and critically evaluated for studying its benefits and limitations.
A Study on the Risk Management Information System of the Underground Space - focused on Fire Growth Risk Assessment System-

A large number of accidents at an underground place have been happening, including the gas explosion under construction of subway; the fires of underground utility and underground shopping malls, and other explosion, at home and abroad recently. These accidents make the function of a city ineffective due to the paralyses of electricity and communications net as well as the loss of property and cause people to feel unsecured with accompaniment of a heavy of toll of lives. This research will show evaluation methods of a numerical value of expected average loss space of combustion with the use of probability in order to present potential risk of combustion growth that underground space might cause, and how designer decides a system that enables us to compare and evaluate relatively the effectiveness of measures for preventing burning by calculating the expansion route and the damage size of burning in case of fire.
A Study on the Flow Characteristics of a Butterfly Valve in Fire Protection

Investigation of flow characteristics on pressure loss and cavitations of the butterfly valve has been carried out. The pressure loss coefficient on opening angle of valve has been formulated by applying the Carnot's equations. Cavitations (such as cavitation Inception, super cavitation inception, cavitation damage inception, choking cavitation) have been predicted from the pressure loss coefficient of valve. The prediction of pressure loss and cavitation has been carried out change of the thickness ratio on opening angle of valve. The prediction data is utilize to necessary engineering data to develope of the butterfly valve.
The Effect of ATH and Sb
on the Flammability and Mechanical Properties of Fiber Reinforced Plastics

In this paper, the thermal and flame properties of GFRP with various flame retardant(aluminum trihydrate, antimony trioxide) compositions have been investigated by thermal analysis and flammability tests(LOI test, flammability 45 degree test). The flame and mechanical properties(hardness, tensile strength, modulus) of general purpose grade glass fiber/unsaturated polyester composite with flame retardant composition have been also evaluated. The effect of cure pressure on the flame properties of aerospace grade glass fiber/epoxy composite was investigated. Considering the flame and mechanical property of composite, we could determine the optimum flame retardant composition(ATH 10∼20 phr). Test results show that the flame property of glass fiber/epoxy composite is considerably affected by cure pressure conditions.
A Study on the Causes and the Analysis of Electrical Fires - focused on Heat Analysis for Electrical Wires-

Nowaday, with the growth of software for electro-thermal analysis, it has been studied the precise analysis and investigation of cause for the electrical fire using computer simulation on the basis of theory for electro-thermal analysis. But it is very lacking for the precise analysis and investigation of cause for the electrical fire. In this paper, we have simulated the thermal analysis for electrical wire according to the value of current and deteriorating time in a overload and a short with the electrical wire of the L's company product(600 V VVF : Three core) using the elec-tro-thermal finite element method(Flux2D).
The Combustion Gases Toxicity Evaluation of Plastics Material by Colorimetric Gas Detector Tubes

In this paper, we had analyzed comsbustion gases using a GASTEC colorimetric gas detector tube according to the method of NES 713 in order to combustion gases toxicity evaluation for beads polystyrene foam, extruded polystyrene foam, rigid polyurethane foam, flexible polyurethane foam, flexible polyvinyl chloride pipe, vinyl floor cover, polyethyelene foam(flame retardant untreated) and polyethyelene foam (flame retardant treated) of plastics material. As results of gas analyses by using this method, comsbustion gases producted from small specimens of plastics material had reached fatal to man at 30 minutes exposure time that had possesed toxicity index of more than 1. Toxicity indexes of each specimen were estimated range of 4.3∼179.2, flexible polyvinyl chloride showed the hightest toxicity index at 179.2, and beads polystyrene foams showed the lowest toxicity index at 4.3.
