A Study on the Effect of Reactive Plasticizer

The purpose of this dissertation is to study the vulcanization characteristics, compression set and other physical properties of NBR vulcanizates according to the various plasticizer and its content. Vulcanization characteristics were investigated by using cure that has obtained by means of rheometer and Mooney viscometer. The result of physical properties, vulcanization characteristics are as fellows. 1. The results of test for optimum cure time in vulcanization characteristics of NBR compounds indicated the rapidity of scorch time according to the increase of amounts of plasticizer. 2. In the test of compression set property, LCR was the best effect. 3. In the test of oil resistance, LCR was the best effect.
Low Temperature Vulcanization of Chlorosulfonated Polyethylene

Chlorosulfonated polyethylene(CSM) was moisture-cure after treating them with silane coupling agents such as
propyl trimethoxy silane,
propyl triethoxy silane and methyl triethoxy silane, 3-(trimethoxy silyl) propyl methacrylate and 3-thiocyanopropyl triethoxy silane. The cure reaction is composed two steps. The first is the reaction between chlorosulfonyl groups of CSM and silane coupling agents. The second is the formation of cross-links which are siloxane linkage. The linkage is formed by the condensation of silanol groups which are produced by the hydrolysis of alkoxysilyl groups. Physical properties of moisture-cured CSM was measured. CSM was effectively moisture-cured and r-mercapto propyl trimethoxy silane and r-glycidoxy propyl trimethoxy silane were capable of the vulcanizing agents.
A Study on the Effect of Mastication in Solution SBR

A number of tin-containing elastomers are produced commercially by Korea Kumho Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (KKPC) under the Kosyn Sol tradename. The effect of mastication of commercial and laboratory polymerized S-SBR has, been investigated using chemical mixer(ML-500), NMR, GPC and Mooney viscometer. Mastication of polymers containings coupling bonds is affected by the amount of stearic acid, the temperature of mixing and the time length of mixing.
Synthesis Polyurethane Coating Materials Containing Polysiloxane

Polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)-containing polyurethane coating materials were synthesized because PDMS-based elastomers have unique properties including an extremely low glass transition temperature, good thermal and oxidative stability, and good dielectric properties. In this experiment a vinyl copolymer which consisted of vinyl chloride, vinyl acetate, vinyl alcohol, and maleic acid was used, and Coronate L was used as a polyisocyanate. Vucanization Study by DSC

Vulcanization reaction was studied by DSC through the comparison cure states to physical properties and the investegation of chemicals effect on vulcanization. Reaction enthalpy showed a good correlation with physical properties, increased with the increase of sulfur content, and increased with accelerator content, as well, where the ratio of MOR to sulfur was less than 1.0. Reaction temperature was decreased with increasing accelerator content and decreased also with sulfur content where the ratio of MOR to sulfur was more than 1:3. As a result, the cure state and reaction temperature could be controlled effectively with the ratio of accelerator to sulfur in the range of a third to unity.
A Study on Dynamic Properties for Filler Compounded NR Vulcanizates

The purpose for this study is to examine the vulcanization characteristics, especially the damping, elastic modulus and viscous modulus properties of filler 50phr filled NR compounds and to find out the compounds which can be used as damping materials in industry. For this study, compounds were prepared with filler filled compounding formula. Their vulcanization characteristics, elastic modulus, viscous modulus and damping properties were examined by mean of the rheometrics dynamic spectrometer. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. 1. The elastic modulus values of the maxium under the condition of 1Hz frequency, showed the order as follows, $HAF>Silica>FEF>GPF>SRF>Clay>CaCO_3\;coated>CaCO_3$. 2. The damping values of the maxium under the condition of 1Hz frequency, showed the order as follows $Silica>HAF>FEF>GPF>SRF>Clay>CaCO_3\;coated>CaCO_3$.
