A Study for Structural Capacity Evaluation of Embedded Steel Plate Connected with Prestressed Concrete Beam to Build Large Space Educational Facilities

An experimental study to evaluate structural capacity of an embedded plate connected with prestressed concrete beam was performed. Embedded steel plates and prestressed concrete beam were connected with stud-bolts at the ends of concrete beam specimens. About 1,000 kN concentrated load was applied at 450mm away from the end of beam specimen. A 3,000 kN capacity static Oil-jack was used to direct concentrated load. The maximum strain of stud-bolt recorded
(mm/mm) and wide width cracks were not founded. Any falling failures of concrete and large deformations were not founded either between steel plate and prestressed concrete specimen. As a result, construction performance can be improved using this embedded steel plate connection system apply to large space educational facilities.
A Case Study on the Decrease in Population and the Reorganization of School Facilities in the Rural Area

This study is to clarify the actual conditions of school Facilities in the Rural Area. The aim of this thesis is to present the direction for Reorganization of school facilities. Research area was Uiseong, Gyeongbuk, the number of students decreased rapidly. And elementary, middle and high school facilities were surveyed. The results are as the follows; 1) After consider living zone, commuting distance, opinions of residents, it is advisable that the small size school(the number of students under 60) will be combined stronghold school. 2) In the case of relocation, first of all, should consider the characteristic of living zone, exchanging training programs between elementary and middle schools. 3) The closed school facilities will be used consistently as public facilities with priority consideration of environmental characteristic and users' demand.
A study on improvement of walking safety in newtown schoolzone way

The purpose of this study is to suggest a scheme to provide children safer and more comfortable walking circumstances by survey current walking circumstances of schoolzone ways. A scheme suggested in this study was based on the analysis of survey to elementary school in 3 Newtowns(Dongtan, Dongbaek and Gumdan Districts) and actually surveyed data on school zone, the scheme can be summed up as follows; First, to avoid pedestrian roads being interrupted and to expend waiting space near schoolzone ways, several measures are needed including fixing roads and building additional gateway. Second, to secure pedestrians' safety in school zone ways should be planned and established more security concepts und facilities Third, to improve the walking safety in schoolzone way should be established specially "schoolzone B-plan".
A Study on Comparison between Korea Green Building Certification Criteria and LEED by School Cases

The purpose of this study is to verify the validity of items and to obtain basic information for spread of Korea Green Building Certification Criteria(KGBCC) by comparing items and school cases of KGBCC with those of LEED 2.1. LEED 2.1 is concentrating on 'Energy' and 'Indoor Air Quality' and KGBCC is relatively showing even distribution. And LEED 2.1 is not evaluate 'Ecology' that is important to us. And school cases of KGBCC and LEED 2.1 obtained similar scores by field or those of KGBCC obtained more scores. Domestic buildings need to ontain certification by KGBCC considering domestic situation. Also we need to lead activating of KGBCC through incentive programs.
A Research of the Efficient Financial Management of Welfare for Education through Operating Mixed-use of School Facilities

Nowadays, the change of the social structure such as the elderly society and the broken traditional family conception is progressing rapidly. The social change produced a lot of problems, and the welfare from among these is the urgent problem. The welfare for the aged is very important problem in an aging society. The changes of industrial and economic structures also caused the increase of double-income families. The numbers of schoolchildren decreased rapidly because of the low birth and elderly society. So, many idle spaces of existing school facilities have emerged, and these left spaces is being blamed for the fiscal waste. If these idle spaces were used for the welfare-facilities, it will be of assistant to solve the problem about welfare and use the school facilities effectively. And then, the big profit from these enterprises can be used for the better welfare for education.
A study on the efficiency of remote subject classroom system in the secondary education - subject to high school consumers on the actual conditions and their cognition -

The purpose of this study is to carry out the research of the satisfaction level of consumers (students and teachers) and managerial characteristics for model classes of the subject classroom system and to draw the effective plan of the system. The conclusions are as follows First, the biggest advantage of the system is to fulfill the educational goal according to an individual level and ability of each student while the biggest disadvantage is the inconvenience of students to change their classrooms for each specific class. Second, it is necessary to rearrange the classrooms according to the applied subjects from the aspect of curriculum management since the time frame is not convenient for recess. English and mathematics are required preferentially as applied subjects, however Korean (as a national language) and science are needed to be taught with level-differentiated classes, too. The ideal size of classes is most likely 20-25 students according to the result of research. Lastly, the space of environment is another requirement to secure smooth flow of students' movements and extra space for technical devices used for information research. The above analysis indicates the necessity of supplementation in space planning for further implementation of subject classroom system in secondary school.
