A Study on the Image Evaluation and Morphological Elements of Buildings In the University Campus

This study evaluates the relationship among the evaluation structure of morphological elements, the satisfaction on exterior elements, and the image evaluation for the campus landmarks by campus type. The investigation results are summarized as follows. 1) The university headquarter was nominated as the university landmark, and the main reason for the nomination was the building`s historic and locational value. 2) Of the morphological elements of the campus landmark, `proportion and balance` and `harmony and order` were deemed important, while `diversity` was deemed less important. 3) For the satisfaction on the facility`s exterior elements, the evaluation structure was different for each university. However, the factor of `location of the facility` was deemed the biggest factor for satisfaction for all universities, while the facility`s `color and material` were found to be the most dissatisfying factors. 4) The image evaluation on the facility was different for each university. Although there was a strong skeptical image about `liveliness`, there was a very positive image about `elegance` and `scale`. 5) On the relationship between the satisfaction on exterior elements and the image evaluation, there was a different evaluation structure for each university. `Facility`s color and exterior material` were the main elements which improved the overall image of the facility. Thus, the study results strongly suggest that an important task is to determine the maintenance direction through the emphasis on the relationship between exterior elements and image satisfaction for each university.
Basic Study on the Arrangement Type Analysis of Closed School Facility According in Daegu Area -Focused on the Curriculum Changes-

Since the Standard Design Guide in 1962 and "School Facility Facility Standard Regulation" established in 1969, the elementary school facility in Korea has been amended and complemented. The modern pilot school was started in 1991 and every elementary school facility has been designed based on the modern elementary school from 1994. At present, 8 out of 28 closed schools occurred in the downtown area in Daegu. One of them is located in rent and 7 are used by themselves. The rest 20 schools are located in Dalsung-gun and most of them have old buildings of straight plane shapes built in 1940s. The purpose of this basic study is to pursue the changing process of closed schools based on policy changes of curriculum and to seek the qualitative change when using closed schools. In addition, it is to prepare the using measures when the school close is occurred in the downtown area in the future by classifying and analyzing plane types according to their types.
A Study on the Analysis Model for School Safety Accident

Low birthrate is causing a reduction in the number of students at kindergartens, elementary schools, middle schools and high schools nationwide and yet, school safety accidents are on a constant rise, which was reported to be 237 accidents a day on average in 2011. Such phenomenon is proving how the school safety policy is not doing what it was supposed to do. In order to decrease the school safety accidents, first, causes of the accidents should be analyzed and then, prevention measures should be designed. For that reason, the study looked into the present condition of the school safety accidents and safety accident theories and based on the results, "School Safety Accident Analysis Matrix Model" was proposed. With a matrix method of the accident types (17 of them) and hazard factors (9 of them) applied, the concerned model analyzed a total of 153 accident causes. In consideration of the results from the analysis, the study suggested that the education authority should open a safety organization and design a school safety policy that would systematically deal with safety education, prevention measures practice, accident investigation and analysis, and countermeasures practice as well.
A Study on School Location decision Factor of Step-by-step urban Housing-land development for Amenity

The purpose of this study was to analyze the school location decision factor with land use planning and urban design. And this research proposed the school location decision factor for urban amenity. This research proved the fact that the school land correlated with the park, the other school land etc. And this result will be used in decision-making-process of land use planning, public land development construction oriental, urban design and city policy.
A Study on the Community Space for Socialization of Secondary School Students - Focused on Alternative Educational Perspective Using Examples of Schools from Other Countries -

This study aims to theoretically examine the educational and living elements that are needed for social education in the school system and suggest an approach to apply this result to the environmental aspects of the space in schools. To do this, characteristics of space in exemplary middle school oversee were analyzed. Also, the characteristics and status of the school space environment that foster socialization were examined. In order to increase students` social skills, the following community space should be considered. 1) teaching and learning spaces facilitating a variety of teaching methods, such as lecture, discussion, seminar classes, 2) open-spaces for communication among students, such as home base, hall, library, museum, and restaurant, 3) open-spaces for STEM education, 4) transparent windows located in the boundary wall between classrooms and hallways, 5) a large performance stage for presentation of student activities and experiences, 6) smart-learning spaces for fluent ICT system in classes and in public spaces, 7) restaurants and libraries located in the middle space of the school, and 8) ecological environments for student learning.
A Survey on the BIM Education Status for Activating BIM Tool Instruction on School Building Construction

BIM(Building Information Modeling) is an indispensable tool to secure global competitiveness in construction sector, as already adapted significantly in European countries and U.S. In particular, as considering School Buildings constructed by BTL Method, using BIM tools are required for the accurate estimation of construction cost in planning stage, exact design and construction, well-judged settlement and performance of maintenance schedule. Therefore, this study investigates the BIM education status and the problems on using BIM tools through a survey of 100 BIM trainees and suggests improvement method of BIM education.
A Study on Prediction of Power Consumption Rate of Middle School Building in Changwon City by Regression Analysis

As the existing school building power consumption is expressed by total power consumption, in the view of energy saving is disadvantage. The the power consumption of school building is divided as cooling, heating, lighting and others. The cooling power consumption, heating power consumption, lighting power consumption can be calculated using real total power consumption that gained from Korea Electric Power Corporation(KEPCO). The power consumption for cooling and heating can be calculated using heat transmittance, wall area and floor area, and for lighting is calculated by artificial lighting calculation. but this calculation methods is difficult for laymen. This study was carried out in order to establish the regression equation for cooling power consumption, heating power consumption, lighting power consumption and other power consumption in school building. In order to verify the validity of the regression equation, it is compared regression equation results and calculation results based on real power consumption. As the results, difference between regression result and calculation results for cooling and heating power consumption showed 0.6% and 3.6%.
A basic Study on the species of plants and its frequency for the Landscaping in Elementary School in relation to the school curriculum

School Landscape Planning in Korea recently due to the implementation of green building certification system as a whole outside of the school environment and create eco-friendly, but not has not been linked with the curriculum. The purpose of this study is linked to the curriculum that can be used actively in learning activities is to landscape the school. Considering curriculum for elementary landscape plan provides direction results of this study can be summarized as follows: First, the elementary school years in Chapter 3, the type and number of species of plants and animals that appear in the textbooks examined the results of the analysis that appears to know what plants and animals were the most common. Second, seven schools in Gyeonggi Province in Chapter 4 investigated the status of the landscape. The current landscape of the school curriculum, whether in agreement with the results of this comparison indicate that much of a difference could be seen. Therefore, future elementary landscape plan in accordance with the finality of education curriculum will be developed to fit.
