The Evaluation of Air Quality in Educational Child Care Center

It is indispensable for child care centers to investigate and manage indoor air quality (IAQ) because they perform education and day care for children who usually have weak immunity. Nevertheless, there is insufficient research being done, given itsimportance. Thisstudy aimstoinvestigateindoorpollutants' concentration and to seek the causes in order to improve the air quality conditions. Also it aims to secure data which can be used for furtherresearches. Measurements were performed for air temperature, relative humidity, carbon dioxide,carbon monoxide, fine particle mass, formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds. Temperature, humidity, CO and CO2 were measured 30times(1min/time) and PM10 was measured 10times (3min/time). Formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds were measured and analyzed based on The Indoor Air Quality Official Test Method. The results show that the temperatures were within the comfort zone in over half of the centers. CO2 was found to be the main pollutants as its concentration exceeded the IAQ standard. The concentrations of TVOC and PM10 exceeded the standard, by 32% and 24% respectively,whereas those of HCHO and CO were under the standard. HCHO and CO concentrations were under the guideline. 24% of child care centers for education were found to exceed the standard in 2 or more of the pollutants. 82% of were found to exceed the standard by 1 or more. Therefor it is requested for IAQ to manage and improve in child care center for education.

Recently, the necessity of open spaces is increased greatly in the city. But in many reasons, open spaces are diminishing gradually in the existing cities. It is more difficult to keep that space because of expensive land price, and the interests between the neighbors. To solve this problem, the local governments tries to change the street system more convenient to the pedestrian by adapting no vechile street system during some specific time. In this point of view, the street which include fence of school, house, and apartment can be the open space. Especially, removal of the school fence can be a useful solution providing open spaces to small cities suffering from lack of open spaces. In this researching background, several schools in Wonju were selected in this research, some has already been opened, and others yet. Opinions of students, presidents of these schools, and citizens are surveyed about removal of fence. In the basis of this result, we deduce problems followed by removing the fence, and reflect it in the plan of opening the fence to present the guidance to cross over the functional limitation of the fence and use it as a open space.
A Study on the Application of Criteria of the Indoor Environment through the Case of Green Building Certification Criteria for School

Recently, there are effects such as commercial investment and introducing new technology by introducing a BTL project. As a result, School's conditions are getting better and Numbers of certified schools are increasing, because the Green Building Certification Criteria was created in 2002 and expanded to schools in March, 2005. But the certificated schools just get the minimum score for certificate level 'good' about 65 points and there is no certificated school level 'very good'. The users of schoo lstay in long time in the facility cause of the unique function of school. It means Indoor Environment Quality Criterion of the school is very important than any other criteria. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the indoor environment factor for the plan of the certificated school by green building rating systems.And this study also wants make the basement ofa substantial technical application and development of the criteria in the plan for sustainable green school.
A Study for Safety Evaluation of the Prestressed Hybrid Beam with T-shape Steel Member which was Developed to Build Large Span Educational Facilities

The purpose of this study was to evaluate structural safety and economic efficiency of prestressed hybrid beam using T-shape steel member which was developed to build large span educational facilities. Hybrid beam specimens were manufactured with 16.0m long and load was uniformly distributed by 12.0kN steel hexahedrons. In this study, honeycomb beam design process was introduced to T-shape section steel beam design. Vibration condition of specimens were analyzed by Korea Building Code 2009 and AISC Steel Design Guide Series-11. As a result, the prestressed hybrid beam with T-shape steel member has about 10.4% of cost reduction effect.
A Study on the Analytical Technique for the Actual Conditions of Fundamental Facility for Education in University Campus - Focused on the Case of C University Campus in Gyeongbuk -

It is high level of management activity for the fixed property of building to operating spaces for education in university campus. Therefore, this study is focused on definition of the factors for analyzing the actual conditions of space operation and application of them to C university campus in Gyeongbuk in the aspect of infrastructure of university and efficiency ofspaceoperation.These analyticalfactors are the rate oflectureand experimentation room, the rate of theoretical and experimental subject in curriculum and unit area for infrastructure and the rate of use, turnover rate and occupation rate per lecture for space operation. If the analytical factors of space operation are systemized as program module for space operation,the space management system of university campus will be characterized on the foundation of university information system. And it will be able to support the decision making about space management. It needs to integrate various type of information and data of university to increase the efficiency of decision making.
