CATENARY MODULES II
NAMAZI, S. ; SHARIF, H. ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 22, issue 1, 2000, Pages 9~16
Abstract
An A-module M is catenary if for each pair of prime submodules K and L of M with
all saturated chains of prime submodules of M from K to L have a common finite length. We show that when A is a Noetherian domain, then every finitely generated A-module is catenary if and only if A is a Dedekind domain or a field. Moreover, a torsion-free divisible A-module M is catenary if and only if the vector space M over Q(A) (the field of fractions of A) is finite dimensional.

PRIME IDEALS IN LIPSCHITZ ALGEBRAS OF FINITE DIFFERENTIABLE FUNCTIONS
EBADIAN, ALI ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 22, issue 1, 2000, Pages 21~30
Abstract
Lipschitz Algebras Lip(X,
) and lip(X,
) were first studied by D. R. Sherbert in 1964. B. Pavlovic in 1995 shown that in these algebras, the prime ideals containing a given prime ideal form a chain. In this paper, we show that the above property holds in
and
, the Lipschitz algebras of finite differentiable functions on a perfect compact place set X.

SOME GEOMETRIC APPLICATIONS OF EXTREMAL LENGTH(II)
CHUNG, BO-HYUN ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 22, issue 1, 2000, Pages 31~36
Abstract
In this paper, we introduce the extremal length and examine its properties and consider the applications of extremal length to conformal mappings. We obtain the theorems in the connection with "the extremal length zero" and "the fundamental sequences".

THE STABILITY OF A GENERALIZED CAUCHY FUNCTIONAL EQUATION
LEE, EUN HWI ; CHOI, YOUNG HO ; NA, YOUNG YOON ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 22, issue 1, 2000, Pages 37~46
Abstract
We prove the stability of a generalized Cauchy functional equation of the form ;
That is, we obtain a partial answer for the open problem which was posed by the Th.M Rassias and J. Tabor on the stability for a generalized functional equation.

BOUNDARIES AND PEAK POINTS OF LIPSCHITZ ALGEBRAS
MAHYAR, H. ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 22, issue 1, 2000, Pages 47~52
Abstract
We determine the Shilov and Choquet boundaries and the set of peak points of Lipschitz algebras
for $0<{\alpha}{\leq}1$, and
for $0<{\alpha}<1$, on a compact metric space X. Then, when X is a compact subset of
, we define some subalgebras of these Lipschitz algebras and characterize their Shilov and Choquet boundaries. Moreover, for compact plane sets X, we determine the Shilove boundary of them. We also determine the set of peak points of these subalgebras on certain compact subsets X of

INFINITE SERIES ASSOCIATED WITH PSI AND ZETA FUNCTIONS
KIM, YONGSUP ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 22, issue 1, 2000, Pages 53~60
Abstract
We evaluate some interesting families of infinite series expressed in terms of the Psi (or Digamma) and Zeta functions by analyzing the well-known identity associated with

DERIVED LIMITS OF INVERSE SYSTEMS OVER (PRE)ORDERED SETS
LEE, HONG-JAE ; LEE, DAE-WOONG ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 22, issue 1, 2000, Pages 77~82
Abstract
After considering an equivalence relation on a directed preordered set, we construct an isomorphism between derived limits of inverse systems indexed by the directed (pre)ordered sets.

COMMON FIXED POINTS FOR COMPATIBLE MAPPINGS OF TYPE(A) IN 2-METRIC SPACES
WANG, WEN-ZUO ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 22, issue 1, 2000, Pages 91~97
Abstract
In this paper we obtain a criterion for the existence of a common fixed point of a pair of mappings in 2-metric spaces. Our result generalizes a number of fixed point theorems given by Imdad, Khan and Khan [1], Kahn and Fisher [2], Kubiak [3], Rhoades [5], and Singh, Tiwari and Gupta [6].

EINSTEIN WARPED PRODUCT SPACES
KIM, DONG-SOO ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 22, issue 1, 2000, Pages 107~111
Abstract
We study Einstein warped product spaces. As a result, we prove the following: if M is an Einstein warped product space with base a compact 2-dimensional surface, then M is simply a Riemannian product space.
