RIGIDITY FOR MPR, THE MALVENUTO-POIRIER-REUTENAUER HOPF ALGEBRA OF PERMUTATIONS
Hazewinkel, Michiel ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 29, issue 4, 2007, Pages 495~509
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2007.29.4.495
Abstract
In this note it is proved that MPR is rigid as a Hopf algebra with distinguished basis. I.e. there are no nontrivial automorphisms that preserve the multiplication and comultiplication and take the distinguished basis of all permutations into itself (as a graded set).

,
) which is the state space of extended canonical linear system with a transfer fucntion
(z).

Abstract
Let

. Suppose that
and

M, defined by
, is the operator of multiplication by
. We would like to investigate the spectrum and the essential spectrum of
and we are looking for the necessary and sufficient conditions for
to be a Fredholm operator. Also we give a sufficient condition for a sequence
to be an interpolating sequence for
. At last the commutant of
under certain conditions on M and
is determined.

Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 29, issue 4, 2007, Pages 543~554
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2007.29.4.543
Abstract
In this paper, we prove the stability of a mixed type functional equation f( -x + y + z) + f(x - y + z) + f(x + y - z) = f(x - y) + f(y - z) + f(z - x) + f.(x) + f(y) + f(z).

ON STRONGLY 2-PRIMAL RINGS
Hwang, Seo-Un ; Lee, Yang ; Park, Kwang-Sug ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 29, issue 4, 2007, Pages 555~567
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2007.29.4.555
Abstract
We first find strongly 2-primal rings whose sub direct product is not (strongly) 2-primal. Moreover we observe some kinds of ring extensions of (strongly) 2-primal rings. As an example we show that if R is a ring and M is a multiplicative monoid in R consisting of central regular elements, then R is strongly 2-primal if and only if so is
. Various properties of (strongly) 2-primal rings are also studied.

Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 29, issue 4, 2007, Pages 569~576
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2007.29.4.569
Abstract
Let
be a separable, infinite dimensional, complex Hilbert space. We call "an operator
acting on

and a positive Borel measure
such that <
, v> =
for all j,
. We obtain a characterization to find a representing star moment measure and discuss some related properties.

THE ROTATION THEOREM ON ANALOGUE OF WIENER SPACE
Ryu, Kun-Sik ; Shim, Shung-Hoon ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 29, issue 4, 2007, Pages 577~588
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2007.29.4.577
Abstract
Bearman's rotation theorem is not only very important in pure mathematics but also plays the key role for various research areas, related to Wiener measure. In 2002, the author and professor Im introduced the concept of analogue of Wiener measure, a kind of generalization of Wiener measure and they presented the several papers associated with it. In this article, we prove a formula on analogue of Wiener measure, similar to the formula in Bearman's rotation theorem.

A NOTE ON PRECONVEXITY SPACES
Min, Won-Keun ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 29, issue 4, 2007, Pages 589~595
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2007.29.4.589
Abstract
In this paper, we introduce the concepts of the convexity hull and co-convex sets on preconvexity spaces. We study some properties for the co-convexity hull and characterize c-convex functions and c-concave functions by using the co-convexity hull and the convexity hull.

Park, Jin-Han ; Song, Dae-Seob ; Lee, Bu-Young ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 29, issue 4, 2007, Pages 597~615
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2007.29.4.597
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to introduce the class of

NOTES ON NEW SINGULAR FUNCTION METHOD FOR DOMAIN SINGULARITIES
Kim, Seok-Chan ; Pyo, Jae-Hong ; Xie, Shu-Sen ; Yi, Su-Cheol ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 29, issue 4, 2007, Pages 701~721
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2007.29.4.701
Abstract
Recently, a new singular function(NSF) method was posed to get accurate numerical solution on quasi-uniform grids for two-dimensional Poisson and interface problems with domain singularities by the first author and his coworkers. Using the singular function representation of the solution, dual singular functions, and an extraction formula for stress intensity factors, the method poses a weak problem whose solution is in
or
. In this paper, we show that the singular functions, which are not in
, also satisfy the integration by parts and note that this fact suggests the possibility of different choice of the weak formulations. We show that the original choice of weak formulation of NSF method is critical.
