DIGITAL COVERING THEORY AND ITS APPLICATIONS
Kim, In-Soo ; Han, Sang-Eon ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 30, issue 4, 2008, Pages 589~602
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2008.30.4.589
Abstract
As a survey-type article, the paper reviews various digital topological utilities from digital covering theory. Digital covering theory has strongly contributed to the calculation of the digital k-fundamental group of both a digital space(a set with k-adjacency or digital k-graph) and a digital product. Furthermore, it has been used in classifying digital spaces, establishing almost Van Kampen theory which is the digital version of van Kampen theorem in algebrate topology, developing the generalized universal covering property, and so forth. Finally, we remark on the digital k-surface structure of a Cartesian product of two simple closed

Abstract
A generalized n-dimensional Riemannian manifold
on which the differential geometric structure is imposed by the unified field tensor
, satisfying certain conditions, through the
-ME-connection which is both Einstein's equation and of the form(3.1) is called
-ME-manifold and we denote it by

-ME-connection and derive a surveyable tensorial representation of the
-ME-connection and the
-ME-vector in

DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2008.30.4.617
Abstract
In this paper, the authors have found an equivalent condition of the endomorphism ring End(M) of a projective module M being von Neumann regular(Theorem 1.14) and found an equivalent condition of any associative ring R being von Neumann regular (Theorem 1.13).

DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2008.30.4.631

SOME PROPERTIES OF PARALLEL SURFACES IN EUCLIDEAN 3-SPACES
Yoon, Dae-Won ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 30, issue 4, 2008, Pages 637~644
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2008.30.4.637
Abstract
In this paper, we study some properties about the parallel surfaces of ruled surfaces in a Euclidean 3-space. Furthermore, we classify the parallel surfaces of ruled surfaces in a Euclidean 3-space satisfying a linear type and a quadric type with respect to the Gaussian curvature and the mean curvature.

ON KERNELS AND ANNIHILATORS OF LEFT-REGULAR MAPPINGS IN d-ALGEBRAS
Ahn, Sun-Shin ; So, Keum-Sook ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 30, issue 4, 2008, Pages 645~658
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2008.30.4.645
Abstract
In this paper, left-regular maps on d-algebras are defined. These mappings show behaviors reminiscent of homomorphisms on d-algebras which have been studied elsewhere. In particular for these mappings kernels, annihilators and co-annihilators are defined and some of their properties are investigated, especially in the setting of positive implicative d-algebras.

Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 30, issue 4, 2008, Pages 659~670
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2008.30.4.659
Abstract
We denote by
(A) the set of all real matrices with the same sign pattern as a real matrix A. A matrix A is an SN-matrix provided there exists a set S of sign pattern such that the set of sign patterns of vectors in the -space of
is S, for each
. Some properties of SN-matrices arc investigated.

TOTAL SCALAR CURVATURE AND EXISTENCE OF STABLE MINIMAL SURFACES
Hwang, Seung-Su ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 30, issue 4, 2008, Pages 677~683
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2008.30.4.677
Abstract
On a compact n-dimensional manifold M, it has been conjectured that a critical point metric of the total scalar curvature, restricted to the space of metrics with constant scalar curvature of volume 1, should be Einstein. The purpose of the present paper is to prove that a 3-dimensional manifold (M,g) is isometric to a standard sphere if ker
and there is a lower Ricci curvature bound. We also study the structure of a compact oriented stable minimal surface in M.

THE PARITIES OF CONTINUED FRACTION
Ahn, Young-Ho ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 30, issue 4, 2008, Pages 733~741
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2008.30.4.733
Abstract
Let T be Gauss transformation on the unit interval defined by T (x) =
where {x} is the fractional part of x. Gauss transformation is closely related to the continued fraction expansions of real numbers. We show that almost every x is mod M normal number of Gauss transformation with respect to intervals whose endpoints are rational or quadratic irrational. Its connection to Central Limit Theorem is also shown.
