DECOMPOSITION FORMULAS FOR THE GENERALIZID HYPERGEOMETRIC
_{4}
F
_{3}
FUNCTION
Hasanov, Anvar ; Turaev, Mamasali ; Choi, June-Sang ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 32, issue 1, 2010, Pages 1~16
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2010.32.1.001
Abstract
By using the generalized operator method given by Burchnall and Chaundy in 1940, the authors present one-dimensional inverse pairs of symbolic operators. Many operator identities involving these pairs of symbolic operators are rst constructed. By means of these operator identities, 11 decomposition formulas for the generalized hypergeometric
function are then given. Furthermore, the integral representations associated with generalized hypergeometric functions are also presented.

SOME APPLICATIONS OF SOFT SET TO BF-ALGEBRAS
Kang, Min-Su ; Kim, Hee-Sik ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 32, issue 1, 2010, Pages 17~27
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2010.32.1.017
Abstract
In this paper we apply the notion of soft sets introduced by Molodtsov to the theory of BF-algebras. Soft BF-subalgebras and homomorphisms in soft BF-algebras are discussed.

Yu, Ho-Seog ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 32, issue 1, 2010, Pages 45~51
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2010.32.1.045
Abstract
Let A be an abelian variety defined over a number field K and let L be a cyclic extension of K with Galois group G = <
> of order n. Let III(A/K) and III(A/L) denote, respectively, the Tate-Shafarevich groups of A over K and of A over L. Assume III(A/L) is finite. Let M(x) be a companion matrix of 1+x+
+
and let
be the twist of
defined by
= M(x) where
is an isomorphism defined over L. In this paper we compute [III(A/K)][III(
/K)]/[III(A/L)] in terms of cohomology, where [X] is the order of an finite abelian group X.

DISCRETE CURVATURE BASED ON AREA
Park, Kyeong-Su ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 32, issue 1, 2010, Pages 53~60
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2010.32.1.053
Abstract
The concept of discrete curvature is a discretization of the curvature. Many literatures introduce discrete curvatures derived from arc length of circular arcs. We propose a new concept of discrete curvature of a polygon at each vertex, which is derived from area of fan shapes. We estimate the error of the discrete curvature and compare the discrete curvature with old one.

Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 32, issue 1, 2010, Pages 61~71
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2010.32.1.061
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to extend a number of transformation formulas for the four
,
,

DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2010.32.1.073

Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 32, issue 1, 2010, Pages 85~89
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2010.32.1.085

A STRONG LAW OF LARGE NUMBERS FOR AANA RANDOM VARIABLES IN A HILBERT SPACE AND ITS APPLICATION
Ko, Mi-Hwa ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 32, issue 1, 2010, Pages 91~99
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2010.32.1.091
Abstract
In this paper we introduce the concept of asymptotically almost negatively associated random variables in a Hilbert space and obtain the strong law of large numbers for a strictly stationary asymptotically almost negatively associated sequence of H-valued random variables with zero means and finite second moments. As an application we prove a strong law of large numbers for a linear process generated by asymptotically almost negatively random variables in a Hilbert space with this result.

CERTAIN RADIALLY DILATED CONVOLUTION AND ITS APPLICATION
Rhee, Jung-Soo ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 32, issue 1, 2010, Pages 101~112
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2010.32.1.101
Abstract
Using some interesting convolution, we find kernels recovering the given function f. By a slight change of this convolution, we obtain an identity filter related to the Fourier series in the discrete time domain. We also introduce some techniques to decompose an impulse into several dilated pieces in the discrete domain. The detail examples deal with specific constructions of those decompositions. Also we obtain localized moving averages from a decomposition of an impulse to make hybrid Bollinger bands, that might give various strategies for stock traders.

INCLUSION AND EXCLUSION FOR FINITELY MANY TYPES OF PROPERTIES
Chae, Gab-Byoung ; Cheong, Min-Seok ; Kim, Sang-Mok ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 32, issue 1, 2010, Pages 113~129
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2010.32.1.113
Abstract
Inclusion and exclusion is used in many papers to count certain objects exactly or asymptotically. Also it is used to derive the Bonferroni inequalities in probabilistic area [6]. Inclusion and exclusion on finitely many types of properties is first used in R. Meyer [7] in probability form and first used in the paper of McKay, Palmer, Read and Robinson [8] as a form of counting version of inclusion and exclusion on two types of properties. In this paper, we provide a proof for inclusion and exclusion on finitely many types of properties in counting version. As an example, the asymptotic number of general cubic graphs via inclusion and exclusion formula is given for this generalization.

Han, Sang-Eon ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 32, issue 1, 2010, Pages 141~155
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2010.32.1.141
Abstract
In this paper we prove that with some hypothesis the set of k-isomorphism classes of simple closed k-surfaces in
forms a commutative monoid with an operation derived from a digital connected sum, k
{18,26}. Besides, with some hypothesis the set of k-homotopy equivalence classes of closed k-surfaces in
is also proved to be a commutative monoid with the above operation, k
{18,26}.

INVERTIBLE KNOT CONCORDANCES AND PRIME KNOTS
Kim, Se-Goo ;
Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 32, issue 1, 2010, Pages 157~165
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2010.32.1.157
Abstract
Silver and Whitten proved that every knot in
is invertibly concordant to a hyperbolic knot by a series of Nakanishi's construction. We prove that every knot in
is invertibly concordant to a nonhyperbolic prime knot by a simple one step satellite construction.

Honam Mathematical Journal, volume 32, issue 1, 2010, Pages 167~176
DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2010.32.1.167
Abstract
Let (B,
) and (N,
) be Einstein manifolds. Then, we get a complete (necessary and sufficient) condition for the warped product manifold
) to be Einstein, and obtain a complete condition for the Einstein warped product manifold
to be weakly stable. Moreover, we get a complete condition for the map i : (
, which is the identity map as a map, to be harmonic. Under the assumption that i is harmonic, we obtain a complete condition for
to be Einstein.

DOI : 10.5831/HMJ.2010.32.1.177
Abstract
We study the concepts of congruent number problems and elliptic curves. We research the structure of the group of elliptic curves and find out a method of the computation of L(
, 1) and L'(
, 1) by using SAGE program. In this paper, we obtain the first few congruent numbers for n
