In contrast with numerous identities involving the binomial coefficients and the Stirling numbers of the first and second kinds, a few identities involving the Eulerian numbers have been known. The objective of this note is to present certain interesting and (presumably) new identities involving the Eulerian numbers by mainly making use of Worpitzky's identity.

Abstract
Very recently, Rakha and Rathie obtained an extension of the classical Saalsch
tz's summation theorem. Here, in this paper, we first give an elementary proof of the extended Saalsch
tz's summation theorem. By employing it, we next present certain extenstions of Ramanujan's result and another result involving hypergeometric series. The results presented in this paper are simple, interesting and (potentially) useful.

Abstract
We consider the iterative solution of a quadratic matrix equation with special coefficient matrices which arises in the quasibirth and death problem. In this paper, we show that the elementwise minimal positive solvent of the quadratic matrix equations can be obtained using Newton's method if there exists a positive solvent and the convergence rate of the Newton iteration is quadratic if the Fr
chet derivative at the elementwise minimal positive solvent is nonsingular. Although the Fr
chet derivative is singular, the convergence rate is at least linear. Numerical experiments of the convergence rate are given.

Abstract
To study product properties of digital spaces, we strongly need to formulate meaningful adjacency relations on digital products. Thus the paper [7] firstly developed a normal adjacency relation on a digital product which can play an important role in studying the multiplicative property of a digital fundamental group, and product properties of digital coverings and digitally continuous maps. The present paper mainly surveys the normal adjacency relation on a digital product, improves the assertion of Boxer and Karaca in the paper [4] and restates Theorem 6.4 of the paper [19].

In this paper, we strengthen the properties of approximation by points (AP) and weak approximation by points (WAP) considered by A. Pultr and A. Tozzi in 1993 to define

-WAP for an infinite cardinal
. We also strengthen the properties of radial and pseudoradial to define

-pseudoradial for an infinite cardinal
. These allow us to consider new cardinal functions related to almost closed sets; AP-number, WAP-number, radial number, and pseudoradial number. We study their properties and show the relationships between them. We also provide some examples around
-AP and
-WAP which are closely connected with
-radial and
-pseudoradial.
