A Study on an Utilization Method of Marine Information - on the basic of the Area, Tong-Yeong -

In this study, in Tongyeong area the distribution of marine products that were produced and treated through fishing and cultivating industry and the trend of main fisheries were investigated for fisheries distribution system and fisheries official circles, and then a structural model of fisheries distribution system for direct transaction was suggested under internet environment, which is an important scheme offering a necessary information rapidly and practically to both producers and consumers. Database system was structured according to distributed process. An op-elative scheme were suggested for sewers of local area information center, complementing functions to exceed each server's ability.
The study on necessity of equipment ship phone and improvement of concerning laws in small ships

Tens of domestic maritime accidents that happen in around 5 toned small ships cause great loss of lives every year. Ship phones in small ships, the communication equipment usable in accidents, can remove factors that cause great loss of lives and properties. Thus we studied on the ship phones on a national point of view to reduce loss that caused by maritime accidents.
VLSI Design and Implementation of Multimedia Transport Protocol for Reliable Networks

This dissertation deals with the design and VLSI implementation of the MTP(Multimedia Transport Protocol) protocol for the high speed networks. High throughput, functional diversity and flexible adaptation are key requirements for the future transport protocol. However it is very difficult to satisfy all these requirements simultaneously. Fortunately, the future networks will be very reliable. It means that the future transport protocol will usually perform some fixed functions without the protocol state information. According to this concept, we proposed and designed the MTP protocol that is consisted of Information Plane and Control Plane. Information Plane performs some fixed functions that are independent of the protocol state information as far as no error. However Control Plane manages the protocol state information and controls the operation of Information Plane. Our MTP protocol was finally implemented as an FPGA chip using the VHDL. We built a testbed for verification of the implemented protocol, and it was shown that the MTP protocol worked correctly and made a throughput of about 800 Mbps. Our future works include the addition of multiplexing and multicasting capabilities to our protocol for multimedia applications.
Implementation of a B-ISDN terminal adapter supporting for integrated services

This paper describes a B-ISDN terminal adapter which provides B-ISDN adaptation functions for conventional services such as N-ISDN, video, connectionless data service in the ATM based B-ISDN. These services are provided individually or simultaneously. The B-ISDN terminal adapter offers interfaces of N-ISDN, video codec, Ethernet for supporting conventional services. And it provides various types of services which are available in conventional terminals and networks through B-ISDN. The AAL type 1 is used for N-ISDN and video services, the AAL type 3/4 and 5 are used for LAN service.
A Channel Assigmnent Algorithm by Controlling the Transmitted Power Level which is based on the Distance between the Cell Site and the Mobile Unit

New algorithms for frequency channel assignment in small cellular mobile radio system are proposed. The algorithms are for a channel assignment method which control the transmitter power level based on the distance between the cell site and the mobile unit. These algorithms are such that any channel can be used by any cell site and mobile unit, as long as a required threshold level of carrier to interference ratio is maintained. As the cochannel reuse distance decreases, the proposed algorithms have given an increase in capacity in comparison to a fixed channel assignment.
Implementation of Power Line Transmission System Using DDLL

Spread Spectrum Communication is a core technique in CDMA system, but the problem for SS Communication schemes is synchronous method. There are DLL, Tau-dither, SO etc, in the synchronous method. But since there are analog operations, the settling is difficult and size is large. In this paper we realized Digital Delay Lock Loop (DDLL) and estimated it's performance through the Power line experiment.
A Robust Reverberation Rejection System against the Underwater Environmental Variations

An active sonar is used to the navigation system or military purposes. In the active sonar one of the problems is a reverberation. The reflected signals from surface, bottom, and volume are received at receiver. This reverberation is an interference in the active sonar, and for the enhanced performance must be rejected. In this paper I study the method to reject the reverberation. The proposed method use the orthogonal property between the signal subspace and noise subspace in the eigen subspace. In the proposed method the noise subspace is calculated. I have performed the computer simulations to prove the performance of the proposed method.
A Performance Measurement of Multi-channel Audio codec for HDTV Satellite Broadcasting

In this paper, we describe simulation results of subjective assessments with bit rate variation of multi-channel audio codec system for the services of HDTV satellite broadcasting services. Based on this experiment results, we also describe the specification and subjective performance results for 4-channel audio codec. For multi-channel, bit rates are 384,320,256,128kbps and the results show that 320kbps bit rate is needed to compare with the original and the reproduced signal. Based on this, for 384kbps for 4-channel audio codec, three items that achieve a diffgrade worse than -0.5 are due to the noise of analog output module. This system is satisfied for the audio codec of the HDTV system.
Performance Evaluation of Speech Coder for Digital Mobile Communication System in Radio Channel Environment

In this paper, we present a comparison between QCELP(Qualcomm Code Excited Linear Predictor) speech coder that is operating in digital mobile communication system and CS-ACELP(Conjugate Structure Algebraic Code Excited Linear Prediction) speech coder that is scheduled to use for IMT-2000 (International Mobile Telecommunications 2000) system. The performance comparison might give help to design of the speech coding algorithms so that the robustness of the algorithms to channel errors engaged by mobile communication system be optimized.
Spectral Analyses of Ultrashort Pulses Using Recursive Partial-Response Signaling System Model

In this paper, a novel method for obtaining spectra of short pulses is proposed. This method will be well-applied to perform spectral analyses of ultrashort laser pulses which are known to be difficult to evaluate their exact forms in frequency domain because of their narrow-width characteristics in time domain. It must be noted that the method can be represented by a recursive formula derived from the PRS(partial-response signaling) model, and thus more easily available for numerical solutions than the conventional methods such as consecutive differentiations and convolutions. The pulses whose fundamental frames can be exactly determined or approximately represented by truncated Fourier series have well-behaving conditions for applications of this new method. Moreover, the transversal 9-type PRS model can offer various approximations for spectral analyses of ultrashort pulses currently used in transmission systems.
An Implementation of Modulation/ Demodulation System Based on the Multipath Analyses for the Acoustic-based Communication

This paper deals with an analysis of multipath which affect a transmission performance in underwater acoustic channel. For the test of autonomous underwater vehicle(AUV), underwater acoustic channel with multipath structure is introduced to mathmatical modelling for a basin environment. In this paper, SMR(Signal to Multipath Ratio) which is defined as a parameter of mulipath's effect is presented as a mathmatical equation, and the equation or SMR is simulated by MATLAB program.
An Implementation of Acoustic-based MAC Protocol Multichannel Underwater Communication Network

This Paper Proposes a new efficient system design strategies for the acoustic-based underwater multiple modem and media access control protocol. The system aims to establish the acoustic-based communication network of an underwater vehicles for deep sea mining, which ensures a certain level of maximum throughput regardless of the propagation delay of acoustic and allows fast data transmission through the acoustic-based multiple channel. A media access control protocol for integrated communication network and it's acoustic-based communication modems that allows 'peer-to-peer' communication between a surface mining plant multiple underwater system is designed, and the proposed media access control protocol is implemented for its verification. Furthermore, a proposed design strategies which make it possible to control the multiple vehicle for an underwater mining is presented in this paper.
A Study of the Hangul Codes and Algorithm for the NBDP System

The maritime mobile communication system has been changing to the new system that is facilitated by the radio telex, digital selective calling and maritime satellite communications from the old system by the radio telegraphy and telephone according to the GMDSS. The NBDP using the ITA No.2 code is a useful media in the maritime communications and provides the procedures of telex. Also it can provide the efficient and more useful functions and the solutions for the incremental traffic requirements by adopting the Hangul code. So, in this paper, we proposed the new Korean NBDP code for the ITA No.2 code, designed and implemented the algorithm which is the processing of the Hangul NBDP code using the microprocessor.
Implementation of transmitter signal processing of the MP/HF DSC Controller

This study is implementation of transmitter signal processing of MF/HF DSC Controller, obliligation system of GMDSS, focused on the technique of processing to encode the distress and general signal of the DSC message. We analyzed recommendation which prescribed frequencies, operational procedures and technical sequence of the DSC and suggested the basic circuit to be materialize the function of a distress alert and general calf of the DSC equipment using Microprocessor, constructed the algorithm of processing a message, programmed it using C language.
