A Simplified Blind Decision Method of Modulation Type in impaired AWGN Channel Environment

In this paper, a simplified new modulation classification method that utilizes likelihood function for received signal in an impaired AWGN channel environment. The proposed method provides the superior to ML method, although the likelihood under the assumption that each modulated signal is sent utilized. On the other hand, the ML method gets the performance characteristics of high computational complexity and weakness to channel impairment such as phase offsets and frequency offsets. The proposed method has lower computational complexity than that of the ML method. Moreover, the proposed method is robust to the channel impairment such as phase offsets and frequency offsets. The correct classification probabilities of the proposed method and the ML method are given for an AWGN channel with phase offsets and frequency offsets, which were simulated with extensive Monte-Carlo simulation. As shown in simulation resole, a more accurate classification performance both in phase offset environment and in frequency offset can be achieved with the low computational complexity of the proposed method.

In this paper, we have designed and fabricated a small size wide-band monopole antenna which can integrate the frequency of previous business mobile communication system by adding 4 PCS of post type parasitic element on top-loaded sleeve monopole antenna. We have observed the properties of return loss upon a parameter change of element, and we also examined radiation properties in the band of PCS, W-CDMA, WiBro, W-LAN and S-DMB in order to make sure the suggested antenna's wide-band properties. We have found that the proposed antenna has omni-direction in horizontal plane and figure eight-direction in vertical plane, and we could have good return loss(

A Study of Efficient Transmission of SVG File using SMETA

As XML is used by standard format for information expression and information exchange in various field, Many Company began to use SVG by user interface or information expression tool of embedded system such as mobile phone based wireless internet. Because SVG has many additional information to keep structure of SVG document exception real data, there is a problem that transfer time of SVG file is so cost for quantity of transmitted data actually. To solve this problem, many researches using compression conception have been conducted for applying to an embedded system. This paper proposes SMETA that can use existing researches using compression concept at once. SMETA divides SVG file to each part that can allocate meaning, and gives semantic metadata to each part without alteration of SVG structure. SMETA can reduce site of transmitted SVG file actually by transmitting specification part of SVG file that metadata does not agree or has unlisted part in an embedded system between an embedded system and server, before transmit whole SVG file. By size of transmitting SVG file is decreasing, transfer time can be shortened accordingly.
Virtual Lecture Contents for Assembling Educational Robots Using Multimedia

In this paper, we presents virtual lecture contents to study educational robots assembling focused on the beginners with little or no background about electronics. Considering the target students, we developed 'virtual laboratory' using flash animation and the students can assemble the robots virtually with mouse and keyboard. Also, the contents includes lectures about some basic electronics theories. electronic devices, and the electronics tools for the beginners. With the features described above, this contents would be useful for the beginners and elementary school students who want to assembling their own robots.
Experimental Study on Performance Evaluation of the IEEE 802.15.4 MAC Protocol

In spite of the large interest in the 802.15.4 standard, no realistic experimental research of its behaviour exists to date except a few works by simulations and analytical modeling. In this paper, we have established realistic environment of IEEE 802.15.4 network and analyze its behaviour under various conditions as like 1) maximum throughput of 802.15.4 MAC, 2) MAC fairness. and 3) throughput and m rate under co-existence of 802.11 Wi-Fi wireless networks.

Performance analysis of OFDM Wireless Transmission System for Medical Information transmission in Multi-path fading channel Environment

In this paper, aim to suggest the medical information wireless transmission system to provide the mobility of medical service by means of wireless area network which makes it possible, home or at a long range, to check and oversee the state of patients, and to can out a simulation. The proposed method converts medical information to digital data in an emergency and sends them to mobile terminals such as PDAs to make possible swift first aid. The simulation took advantage of the OFDM transmission method based on IEEE 802.1la in order to send reliable medical information in mobile wireless channel environment, and analyzed the system performance by applying convolution encoding to transmit reliable information in AWGN and 3-ray mobile multipath fading channel environment.
An Improved Newton-Raphson's Reciprocal and Inverse Square Root Algorithm

The Newton-Raphson's algorithm for finding a floating point reciprocal and inverse square root calculates the result by performing a fixed number of multiplications. In this paper, an improved Newton-Raphson's algorithm is proposed, that performs multiplications a variable number. Since the number of multiplications performed by the proposed algorithm is dependent on the input values, the average number of multiplications per an operation is derived from many reciprocal and inverse square tables with varying sizes. The superiority of this algorithm is proved by comparing this average number with the fixed number of multiplications of the conventional algorithm. Since the proposed algorithm only performs the multiplications until the error gets smaller than a given value, it can be used to improve the performance of a reciprocal and inverse square root unit. Also, it can be used to construct optimized approximate tables. The results of this paper can be applied to many areas that utilize floating point numbers, such as digital signal processing, computer graphics, multimedia, scientific computing, etc.
Design of Collaborative System using Message exchange method based on Bridge XMDR

Existing application systems of enterprises can process and collect a lot of information within enterprises, but it could be difficult to share validated information with partners and other system in the process of contacting to other legacy systems required in cooperation environment. For solving these problems, EAI systems are introduced in cooperation environment so that data sharing and integration can be achieved. The integration based on EAI is not limited to particular business system but all systems of an enterprise so that standard of suitable metadata level is needed for forwarding consistently between each business of systems. Therefore this paper maintains consistency of data sharing and integrating among legacy systems in cooperative environment for proposing message exchanging based on bridge XMDR.
Design and implementation of the location based map system using linux-based embedded terminals

The most commonly used navigation systems work on Windows CE platforms. Linux-based embedded terminals have price competitiveness, because Linux is a free operation system. In order to develop map services on Linux-based embedded terminals, there were a number of technical hurdles that had to be resolved. Since the Linux-based embedded terminals is a low power, low cost, and small size platform with low processing capabilities, we must have developed the spatial database engine that minimize the number of disk accesses. We solved problems that are the processing korean language and the lack of debugging tools on Linux. In this paper, we has developed the spatial database engine and user interfaces on hand-held terminals based on embedded Linux for implementing the location based map system With view of this implementation results, we confirmed the possibility of using our embedded linux terminal as telematics terminals or navigation terminals.
Development of an Engine Simulator for Optimal Control System Implementation of a Gas Turbine Engine

In advanced countries, a gas turbine engine is developed to use in aircraft, vessels, and target weapons. Our nation also passed the level of producing engine components and now, we are developing small-sized gas turbine engine. The most important point of the gas turbine engine, the engine control technique, is evaded by the advanced nations. This document contains the research about the development of the gas turbine engine simulator. The simulator presented in this document has a mathematical engine model based on a capacity data of the gas turbine engine to advance the engine simulator. Through this process, it eases the development of the gas turbine engine control algorithm and helps to check the engine controller function. In this simulator, the engine sensor signal conversion board is designed, so the engine model shows like a real sensor signal during the simulation. Also, this paper contrasts the actual engine test with the simulation results to verify the performance.
Reliability Characteristics of RF Power Amplifier with MOSFET Degradation

The reliability characteristics of class-E RF power amplifier are studied, based on the degradation of MOSFET electrical characteristics. The class-E power amplifier operates as a switch mode operation to achieve high efficiency. This operation leads to high voltage stress when MOSFET switch is turned-off. The increase in threshold voltage and decrease in nobility caused by high voltage stress leads to a drop in the drain current. In the class-E power amplifier the effects caused by the degradation of MOSFET drain current is a drop of the power efficiency and output power. But the small inductor in the class-E load network allows the reliability to be improved. After
. the drain current decreases 46.3% and the PAE(Power Added Efficiency) decreases from 58% to 36% when the load inductor is 1mH. But when the load inductor is 1nH the drain current decreases 8.89% and the PAE decreases from 59% to 55%.

Impulse Noise Removal using Past Tow Phase Algorithm

Recently, two phase scheme for removing impulse noise in images is proposed. This algorithms first detect the noise candidates based on the adaptive median filter, and then apply optimizing techniques recursively only to those noise candidates to restore image. Thus the noise detector with high accuracy is important role on this algorithm, In this paper, novel noise detector is proposed, which can detect impose noise with high accuracy while reducing the probability of false detecting image details as impulses. And the method for reducing computational cost of regularization phase is presented also.
Video Editing using Hand Gesture Tracking and Recognition

In this paper presents a gesture based driven approach for video editing. Given a lecture video, we adopt novel approaches to automatically detect and synchronize its content with electronic slides. The gestures in each synchronized topic (or shot) are then tracked and recognized continuously. By registering shots and slides md recovering their transformation, the regions where the gestures take place can be known. Based on the recognized gestures and their registered positions, the information in slides can be seamlessly extracted not only to assist video editing, but also to enhance the quality of original lecture video. In experiment with two videos, the proposed system showd each gesture recognition rate 95.5%,96.4%.
A Study on the fingerprint images classification based on the changes of direction fields of fingerprint images

The classification of fingerprint images is to classify fingerprint images into varies fingerprint types, it is very important in automatic fingerprint recognition. In this paper, a new singular points detection technique was presented. A direction uniform measure is defined to describe the changes of direction fields in a certain neighborhood of fingerprint images. Singular points can be detected by adopting the measure. It should be pointed out that singular points in accurate positions would be obtained in this ways. And an improved Poincare exponential algorithm is presented to identify core points and triangle points. In this paper. making use of 102 experimental fingerprint images datas and attained 7.8% classification errors. This was better than experimental result of abstract . It is possible to use on-line fingerprint images classification.
Address-Internetworking Scheme between Wireless Sensor Network and Internet Using TCP Port-Numbers

As a promising technology that enables ubiquitous computing and will lead the information technology industries of the next generation, the new field of sensor networks is one of the most active research topics today. From now on, each node, the network formation, and even the sensor network itself will interact with the generic network and evolve dynamically according to environmental changes, in a process of continual creation and extinction. In this paper, we propose a address-Internetworking scheme for interactive networking between a sensor network and the Internet based on the TCP port-numbers. The proposed scheme enables internetworking between a sensor network address scheme based on Zigbee and the Internet address scheme based on the Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6). We implement the proposed address-Internetworking scheme using Berkeley TinyOS, Mica Motes, and IP. In addition we verify the proposed scheme by an interconnection experiment, which involves wireless sensor networks and the Internet, using IPv4/IPv6.
Design and Implementation of the Device Independent RFID Middleware Component for the Next Generation Port-Logistics

RFID technology is considered as a promising solution to increase efficiency of port logistics. Especially active RFID technology, such as e-Seal for container security, is receiving attention nowadays. If active RFID system is combined with passive RFID and legacy bar-code system overall efficiency of port logistics can be improved However, due to the device dependent control interface of RFID readers, there are many difficulties in making active-passive combined RFID system environment. In this paper, we introduce Smart Reader Interface (SRI) system, which provides a device independent RFID reader interrace to control different kinds of RFID readers by hiding device dependent control interface through adapter architecture which is similar to device driver of conventional operating systems. The key design objectives of SRI are the followings; conformance to the related standard. efficiency in processing, easy addition of an adapter for a new RFID reader. Actually, the implemented SRI system can support various kinds of commercial RFID readers, and through the test carried out not only in laboratory but also in the container terminal in the GwangYang Port, its practicality is verified.
Implementation of Fast Infoset Algorithm for Fast Web Services

Plain old Web Services came true a services integration with use the XML that will be able to define a platform-independent document format in basic document format. Hut, the XML document decreases the efficiency of the whole application program with connects frequently in relatively slow communication media like network environment, embedded system or use the resource limited small-sized instrument like mobile. In this paper, we implemented the algorism of Fast Infoset, which can convert XML into Fast XML using the Fast Inoset method and PER encoding rules in ASN.1 and constructs Test Bed. Also, it is compared with the existing pure XML message method in difference of process performance after encoding SOAP messages of XML basis when constructing web service.
A Cell Search with Reduced Complexity in a Mobile Station of OFCDM Systems

Asynchronous OFCDM(Orthogonal Frequency and Code Division Multiplexing) systems must have a cell search process necessarily unlike synch개nous systems. this process is hewn initial synchronization and a three-step cell search algorithm is performed for the initial synchronization in the following three steps: OFCDM symbol timing, i.e., Fast Fourier Transform(FFT) window timing is estimated employing guard interval (GI) correlation in the first step, then the frame timing and CSSC(Cell Specific Scrambling Code) group is detected by taking the correlation of the CPICH(Common Pilot Channel) based on the property yielded by shifting the CSSC phase in the frequency domain. Finally, the CSSC phase within the group is identified in the third step. This paper proposes a modification group code with two or three block of the conventional CPICH based cell search algorithm in the second step which offers MS(Mobile Station) complexity reductions. however, the effect of the reduction complexity leads to degradation of the performance therefore, look for combination to have the most minimum degradation. the proposed block type group code with suitable combinations is the nearly sane performance as conventional group code and has a complexity reduction that is to be compared and verified through the computer simulation.
Wavelet-based Algorithm for Signal Reconstruction

Noise is generated by several causes, when signal is processed. Hence, it generates error in the process of data transmission and decreases recognition ratio of image and speech data. Therefore, after eliminating those noises, a variety of methods for reconstructing the signal have been researched. Recently, wavelet transform which has time-frequency localization and is possible for multiresolution analysis is applied to many fields of technology. Then threshold-and correlation-based methods are proposed for removing noise. But, conventional methods accept a lot of noise as an edge and are impossible to remove the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and the impulse noise at the same time. Therefore, in this paper we proposed new wavelet-based algorithm for reconstructing degraded signal by noise and compared it with conventional methods.
Consideration of Wireless Technology in Industrial Networks

With the success of wireless technologies in consumer electronics, standard wireless technologies are envisioned for the deployment in industrial environments as well. Industrial applications involving mobile subsystems or just the desire to save cabling make wireless technologies attractive. Nevertheless, these applications often have stringent requirements on reliability and timing. In wired environments, timing and reliability are well catered for by fieldbus systems. When wireless links are included, reliability and timing requirements are significantly more difficult to meet, due to the adverse properties of the radio channels. In this paper, we thus discuss some key issues coming up in wireless fieldbus and wireless industrial communication systems.
Semantic Topic Selection Method of Document for Classification

The web as global network includes text document, video, sound, etc and connects each distributed information using link Through development of web, it accumulates abundant information and the main is text based documents. Most of user use the web to retrieve information what they want. So, numerous researches have progressed to retrieve the text documents using the many methods, such as probability, statistics, vector similarity, Bayesian, and so on. These researches however, could not consider both the subject and the semantics of documents. As a result user have to find by their hand again. Especially, it is more hard to find the korean document because the researches of korean document classification is insufficient. So, to overcome the previous problems, we propose the korean document classification method for semantic retrieval. This method firstly, extracts TF value and RV value of concepts that is included in document, and maps into U-WIN that is korean vocabulary dictionary to select the topic of document. This method is possible to classify the document semantically and showed the efficiency through experiment.
The Implementation of Kernel Hardening Function by Recovering the Stack Frame of Malfunction Address on the Linux Operating System

This paper designs the kernel hardening function by recovering the kernel stack fame to reduce the system error or panic due to the kernel code error. The suggested kernel hardening function guarantees normal system operation by recovering the incorrect address of the kernel stack kernel. The suggesting kernel hardening mechanism is applied to the network module of Linux which is much using put. I experimented the kernel hardening function at the network module of the Linux by forcing panic code.
A Collision Avoidance System for Intelligent Ship using BK-products and COLREGs

This paper presents a collision avoidance system for intelligent ship. Unlike collision avoidance system of other unmanned vehicles, the collision avoidance system for intelligent ship aims at not only deriving a reasonable and safe path to the goal but also keeping COLRECs(International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea). The heuristic search based on the BK-products is adopted to achieve the general purpose of collision avoidance system; deriving a reasonable and safe path. The rule of action to avoid collision is adopted for the other necessary and sufficient condition; keeping the COLREGs. The verification of proposed collision avoidance system is performed with scenarios that represent encounter situations classified in the COLREGs, then it is compared with
search method in view of optimality and safety. The analysis of simulation result revels that the proposed collision avoidance system is practical and effective candidate for real-time collision avoidance system of intelligent ship.
Design and Implementation of Vision Box Based on Embedded Platform

Vision system is an object recognition system analyzing image information captured through camera. Vision system can be applied to various fields, and vehicle recognition is ole of them. There have been many proposals about algorithm of vehicle recognition. But have complex calculation processing. So they need long processing time and sometimes they make problems. In this research we suggested vehicle type recognition system using vision bpx based on embedded platform. As a result of testing this system achieves 100% rate of recognition at the optimal condition. But when condition is changed by lighting, noise and angle, rate of recognition is decreased as pattern score is lowered and recognition speed is slowed.
Cooperative Positioning System Using Density of Nodes

In ubiquitous environment a user can be provided with context-aware services based on his or her current location, time, and atmosphere. LBS(Location-Based Services) play an important role for ubiquitous context-aware computing. Because deployment and maintenance of this specialized equipment is costly, many studies have been conducted on positioning using only wireless equipment under a wireless LAN infrastructure. Because a CPS(Cooperative Positioning System) that uses the RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) between mobile equipments is more accurate than beacon based positioning system, it requires great concentration in its applications. This study investigates the relationship between nodes by analyzing a WiPS (Wireless LAN indoor Positioning System), a similar type of CPS, and proposes a improved WiCOPS-d(Wireless Cooperative Positioning System using node density) to increase performance by determining the convergence adjustment factor based on node density.

Ad-Hoc network technology is a mobile internet technology of the future that will be used widely not only in Mobile Network but also in Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN) and Ubiquitous Network For this to occur, distributed routing protocol design, loop prevention for link information reduction in overhead for control messages and route restoration algorithm must be improved or complemented. Security techniques that can guarantee safe com-munication between Ad-Hot nodes net also be provided. This study proposes and evaluates a new authentication mechanism for MANET. The mechanism segregates the roles of certification authority to keep with the dynamic mobility of nodes and handle rapid and random topological changes with minimal over-head. That is, this model is characterized by its high expandability that allows the network to perform authentication service without the influence of joining and leaving nodes. The efficiency and security of this concept was evaluated through simulation.
Design of Agro-Livestock Products Traceability System using EPC Network

In this paper, we propose a new traceability system that integrates ubiquitous sensor network for monitoring agricultural environment. The proposed system using EPC network can provide informations of agro-livestock products traceability quickly and efficiently. Moreover, this system with RFID Technology gives intelligence of distribution and record. Because of new agro-livestock products traceability system, farm family's income will increase with customer satisfaction.
