Journal of the Korea Institute of Information and Communication Engineering, volume 11, issue 10, 2007, Pages 1828~1834
This study proposes a new digital watermarking technique based on wavelet transformation on color image. First the
coordinates obtain from RGB color space. then, the correlation of watermark is decreased by Arnold transformation. Next, watermark which has been enlarged by Linear Bit-expansion is inserted at a given intensity in Color images' low frequency sub-bands. When detecting the presence of watermark, F-norm function is applied. As a result of the various experiments on color images, the proposed watermarking technique has outstanding quality in regards to fidelity and robustness.

Park, Kyoung-Shin ;
Journal of the Korea Institute of Information and Communication Engineering, volume 11, issue 10, 2007, Pages 1835~1844
Recently there have been some positive evidences on the effects of learning in a virtual environment. However, most of these educational VR systems were not deeply considered in the design of drawing a learner's attention on lesson contents, which would help enhance retained memory. Hence, a study was conducted to measure 17 subjects' attention states using EEC, ECG, GSR, and eye-tracking and their behaviors while they were given guided search task or exploration task in a virtual environment consisting of five major events. It also analyzed the subject's remembered items after their VR experiences using a surrey. This paper Int describes an overview of the ocean virtual environment used in this study, and it then explains the experimental design, apparatus, and method. It will also discuss the results by a detail analysis (in a whole VR session as well as event-related 10-second 33 sub-sessions) with the subjects' attention states and their retained memory after the learning.

Park, Chan-Sub ; Kim, Ki-Man ; Kang, Suk-Youb ;
Journal of the Korea Institute of Information and Communication Engineering, volume 11, issue 10, 2007, Pages 1845~1851
Background noise and room reverberation are two causes of degradation in speech in listening situations. Many algorithms developed to enhance reverberant speech. In this paper we propose a dereverberation method for enhancement of speech using modified the linear prediction(LP) residual in reverberant room condition. The proposed dereberberation method based on the fact that the signification excitation of the vocal tract system takes place at the instant of glottal closure in voiced speech. Our method used delay information form each sensor, and we need reverberant signals from 3 sensors. We obtain a new LP residual signal using modified IP residual combination which derived form weighting of the LP residual and the Hilbert transform of LP residual. The nature of the coherently added Hilbert envelop has several large amplitude spikes because of the effects of noise and reverberation. This residual of the clean speech is used to excite the time-varying all-pole filter to obtain the enhanced speech. We achieved simulation of proposed algorithm for performance analysis in reverberation environment. The proposed algorithm improves substantially the quality of reverberant speech.
A Study on the Development of SSB Modem
Kim, Jeong-Nyun ;
Journal of the Korea Institute of Information and Communication Engineering, volume 11, issue 10, 2007, Pages 1852~1857
The SSB modem performs the modulation process which converts the digital voltage level to the audible frequency band signal and the demodulation process which converts reversely the audible frequency signal to the digital voltage level. The modulator and the demodulator are implemented with a single DSP chip. Because of the SSB specific character, the distortion occurs when the frequency is changed. This distortion has no effect on voice communication but it has an significant effect on data communication. In other words, it is impossible to send data stream with adjacent 2 periods. Therefore, in case of using 2-tone FSK, it is needed to send at least 3 periods to transmit 1 bit. Therefore we implemented the modem using modified phase-delay shift keying to transmit 1 tone signal for high speed transmission. In the 1200[bps] mode, it generates 0,
, delay time at 1.3kHz symbol frequency, and in the 2400[bps] mode, 0,
, delay time at 1.5kHz symbol frequency. Finally, in the maximum 3600[bps] mode, it generates 0,
2.0kHz symbol frequency. The measured results of the implemented SSB modem shows a good transfer functional characteristic by spectrum analyzer, almost same bandwidth in pass band and 20dB higher SNR comparing the emu FACTOR and American CLOVER and in the experimental transmitting test, we verified the transmitted data is received correctly in platform.

Journal of the Korea Institute of Information and Communication Engineering, volume 11, issue 10, 2007, Pages 1858~1865
In this paper, we introduce the design and implementation of satellite IP modem. The designed satellite IP modem shows the performance of 0.2% overhead, BER=10-5 when Eb/No=6dB, frequency offset of 8KHz, data rate up to 1536Kbps,
. The designed system is verified through software simulation and then implemented with MPC86x communication processor, TMS320C6416 DSP, and Altera FPGA. Since each hardware unit is implemented in daughter board for modularity, we can reduce the development time and easily improve the performance with using better processor. Linux is used for embedded OS because it shows better performance in IP manipulation multitask processing, and hardware control through device driver. The implemented system is tested and verified with channel simulator. Since the proposed IP modem shows small size and light weight, that can be used anywhere with easy if you need IP environment.

Journal of the Korea Institute of Information and Communication Engineering, volume 11, issue 10, 2007, Pages 1873~1879
As the mobile terminal which uses P2P service increases and it comes to be applied to many fields, mobile agent technology has been applied to P2P and its innovative services has been offered to various fields. However, free mobility of mobile agent technology works like worm, the problem which is contaminated by malicious attacker's attack quickly has appeared and fundamental solution has not been developed yet. This paper proposes STAS (Security Tracking and Auditing Server) system which can offer verification for security of mobile agent in structured P2P environments. Mobile Agent will send data value to STAS via peer so that STAS can verify secure audit and integrity and Mobile agent initiator will obtain the final value of the data from STAS. It can minimize overload of mobile terminal which is occurred by verification of mobile agent and its accomplishment.

Journal of the Korea Institute of Information and Communication Engineering, volume 11, issue 10, 2007, Pages 1880~1885
In this paper, we propose the method that improve the performance of the Mowse. Mowse is the tool of the peptide mass fingerprinting that is used the identification of protein. In Mowse, frequency factor matrix is generated to regular interval for protein and peptide mass and the value of each elements is calculated to frequency of peptide. We propose new method for calculation of exact scoring value maintaining same size of matrix. The proposed method is that decide interval of matrix considering distribution of protein database. That is, interval of matrix is decided to small in many value of protein mass and is decided to large in few value of protein mass. We present the performance result both Mowse scoring method and the proposed scoring method.

Journal of the Korea Institute of Information and Communication Engineering, volume 11, issue 10, 2007, Pages 1886~1893
More efforts are required to efficiently operate and manage measured data in AMR(Automatic Meter Reading) and manual meter reading that have not become com:[m yet. As customer complaints increase the most appropriate way of finding solutions is precise and reliable metering of data which should be able to maximize customer satisfactions. In this parer, we designed a data mining technique that recommended the reliability of measured data on manual meter reading and a mCRM(Mobile CRM) system that expanded CRM(Customer Relationship Management). We will propose a mCRM in which the system compares the patterns of customer's using data. W the measured data gathered is outside of a similarity measure(maximum and minimum), it enhances the reliability of measured data by managing this fact in mobile for each customers. We will proposed a system where the mCRM provides customers with reliability and efficiency when related enterprises cannot establish AMR because of the burden of extra costs.

A cross-coupled charge pump with internal pumping capacitor, witch is advantages from a point of minimizing TFT-LCD driver IC module, is newly proposed in this paper. By using a NMOS and a PMOS diode connected to boosting node from VIN node, the pumping node is precharged to the same value each pumping node at start pumping operation. Since the lust-stage charge pump is designed differently from the other stage pumps, a back current of pumped charge from charge pumping node to input stage is prevented. As a pumping clock driver is located the font side of pumping capacitor, the driving capacity is improved by reducing a voltage drop of the pumping clock line from parasitic resistor. Finally, a layout area is decreased more compared with conventional cross-coupled charge pump by using a stack-MIM capacitors. A proposed charge pump for TFT-LCD driver IC is designed with
triple-well DDI process, fabricated, and tested.

Kim, Gue-Chol ;
Journal of the Korea Institute of Information and Communication Engineering, volume 11, issue 10, 2007, Pages 1910~1915
An accurate and simple method to extract equivalent circuit parameters of fully-depleted silicon-on-insulator MOSFETs small-signal modeling operating at RF frequencies including the non-quasi static effects is presented in this article. The advantage of this method is that a unique and physically meaningful set of intrinsic equivalent circuit parameters is extracted by de-embedding procedure of extrinsic elements such as parasitic capacitances and resistances of MOSFETs from measured S-parameters using simple Z- and Y- matrices calculations. The calculated small-signal parameters using the presented extraction method give modeled Y-parameters which are in good agreement with the measured Y-parameters from 0.5 to 20GHz.

Journal of the Korea Institute of Information and Communication Engineering, volume 11, issue 10, 2007, Pages 1930~1936
Electronic Navigational Charts(ENCs) are official nautical charts which are equivalent to paper charts with supplementary information. Although their main purpose is to be used for the safe navigation of ships, they also contain much information on coasts and seas which may be interesting to ordinary people. However, there is no easy way to access them because of their specialized data format, access method and visualization. This paper proposes m implementation of SVG for the access and services of ENCs. SVG(Scalable Vector Graphic) makes it possible to make use of Vector graphics for map services in basic internet browsing environment. Implementation of SVG for ENC applications by this research is free of special server side GIS mapping system and client side extra technology. The Implementation of SVG for ENC Applications can be summarized as follows: Firstly, SVG provides spatial information to possess searching engine to embody SVG map. Secondly SVG can provide high-quality vector map graphics and interactive facility without special Internet GIS system. It makes it possible to use services with very low cost. Thirdly, SVG information service targeting on maritime transportation can be used as template, so it can be used dynamically any other purpose such as traffic management and vessel monitoring. Many good characteristics of SVG in mapping at computer screen and reusability of SVG document provide new era of visualization of marine geographic information.

Journal of the Korea Institute of Information and Communication Engineering, volume 11, issue 10, 2007, Pages 1937~1943
Given the mountainous nature of Korea, cutting slopes are bound to happen. Every you, slope failures lead to enormous human and material losses. More recently, reckless development and subsequent degradation of forests has brought about soil erosion, which coupled with heavy rainfall, contaminates rivers, raises the level of river bottoms and thereby deteriorates their discharge capacity. In Korea, environmental impact assessments and disaster impact assessments have been conducted to come up with proper countermeasures. In order to perform quantitative analysis for this purpose, reliable slope information is quintessential. This study aims to obtain slope-related digital images using an RC model helicopter with a non-metric camera embedded, and to process these images to gain more accurate slope information. To this end, digital images obtained regarding cutting slopes were processed to gain numerical information of slopes and, on the basis of slope information gained here, reliable soil erosion factors were estimated.

Journal of the Korea Institute of Information and Communication Engineering, volume 11, issue 10, 2007, Pages 1999~2007
This article describes advanced clover algorithm for effective loading and unloading of containers using stackers position data in a yard. The job scheduling must rely on job assign of stackers and position data processing to dynamically allocate stackers, and maintain multiple job processing, all based on task requirements. A stacker tracking using GPS and GIS is an essential capability and is used as yard loading and unloading process improvement for yard management. After estimating position of stackers in a yard the raper describes advanced clover algorithm and other techniques for monitoring loading and unloading of individual containers as well as combinatorial stacker load balancing problems such as estimating load of each stackers. Results from simulations and experimental implementations have demonstrated that the suggested approaches are efficient in stacker management.
