Video Quality Variation Minimizing Method using PID Controller

A novel method of minimizing video quality variation is proposed for a real-time frame-layer rate control algorithm with a transmission buffer. The proposed rate control method uses a non-iterative optimization method for low computational complexity, and performs bit allocation at the frame level to minimize variation in distortion between frames. In order to reflect the buffer status, we use well-known PID control method. Computational complexity of PID control is very low, so the proposed algorithm is suitable for real-time low-complexity video encoder. Experimental results indicate that the proposed control method provides better PSNR performance than the existing rate control method.
Complexity and Performance Analysis of SVC(Scalable Video Coding) Encoder Models for T-DMB/AT-DMB Video Service

This paper presents the SVC(Scalable Video Coding) scheme which enables the AT-DMB(Advanced Terrestrial-DMB) video service in enhancement layer, while keeping the current T-DMB video service in base layer. But, it is very complicate to implement the SVC encoder and so it is necessary to analyze the complexity and performance for SVC encoder#s structures and coding parameters. In this paper, through computer simulations, SVC coding parameters are tested and then, based on these results, three types of SVC encoder models are compared from the viewpoint of the complexity and performance.
Design and Implementation of Wireless Asynchronous UWB System for low-rate low power PAN applications

In the parer, we design a non-coherent UWB system by adopting the architecture of a simplified asynchronous transmission and the edge-triggered pulse transmission, which makes e system performance independent of the share of the transmitted waveform, robust to multipath channels. The designed non-coherent UWB transceiver architecture has an advantage of the simple realization since any mixer, high-speed correlator, and high-sampling A/D converter are not necessary at the cost of performance degradation of about 3dB. Further, the designed non-coherent UWB transceiver is actually implemented with the wireless CANVAS prototype testbed in short range indoor application environments such as a lecture room. The implemented prototype testbed is proven to offer the data rate of 115kbps on the conditions of Peer-to-Peer(P-to-P) in the indoor channel within the range of about 10m.
Fast Handover Provision Mechanism through Reduction of CoA Configuration Time

Recently the diffusion of the advancement of mobile communication technique and mobile terminal increased, The users were demanded seamless services when carrying and moving. It proposed the FMIPv6(Fast Handoff for Mobile IPv6) from the IETF like this meeting this requirement. The handover procedure of the FMIPv6 causes to defecate with movement detection, new CoA configuration and binding update. But, the delay occurs from each process, when the DAD(Duplicate Address Detection) of the CoA executing, the big delay occurs. This paper proposes a scheme of delay reduction, it omits DAD process and stores in the AR(Access Router) relates in the CoA of the mobile terminal information.
Design and Implementation of for High Resolution Inkjet Header Interface

Embedded Controller which controls whole system is most important part of embedded system. Nowadays, new technique called SoC is more using than ASIC. But SoC have some problems. Because of long development time and high cost, it is hard to applying SoC to small and medium enterprise. So many companies use IP technique combined with embedded processor. High resolution inkjet marking system is printing system with embedded controller. It is used in various part of industry. But it has many problems such as printing quality, marking errors, system faults and so on. In this paper, we designed and implemented IP that can solve the printing quality problems. We analyzed total-logic-elements and timing by simulation. As a result of simulation, we could verified that output signals satisfied reference timing. Appling IP to high resolution inkjet marking system, we could get good quality printing message.
A Study on Improving the Subsequent Phase of OMIPv6 Protocol Series

Recently, OMIPv6 series, based on public-key cryptography, have been proposed to improve RR protocol. This series no typically composed of the initial and subsequent phases. In the initial phase, the mobile node and its corresponding node build a strong long-term key, by which successive binding updates are optimized in the subsequent phase. In this paper, we compare and analyze the subsequent phases of OMIPv6 series in terms of performance, security and applicability, then presenting an improvement on the subsequent phase. Also, we show that the proposed improvement is reasonable considering performance, security and applicability overall.
Data hub system based on SQL/XMDR message using Wrapper for distributed data interoperability

The business environment of enterprises could be difficult to obviate redundancy to filtrate data source occurred on data integrated to standard rules and meta-data and to produce integration of data and single viewer in geographical and spatial distributed environment. Specially, To can interchange various data from a heterogeneous system or various applications without types and forms and synchronize continually exactly integrated information#s is of paramount concern. Therefore data hub system based on SQL/XMDR message to overcome a problem of meaning interoperability occurred on exchanging or jointing between each legacy systems are proposed in this paper. This system use message mapping technique of query transform system to maintain data modified in real-time on cooperating data. It can consistently maintain data modified in realtime on exchanging or jointing data for cooperating legacy systems, it improve clarity and availability of data by providing a single interface on data retrieval.
Web Structure Mining by Extracting Hyperlinks from Web Documents and Access Logs

If the correct structure of Web site is known, the information provider can discover users# behavior patterns and characteristics for better services, and users can find useful information easily and exactly. There may be some difficulties, however, to extract the exact structure of Web site because documents one the Web tend to be changed frequently. This paper proposes new method for extracting such Web structure automatically. The method consists of two phases. The first phase extracts the hyperlinks among Web documents, and then constructs a directed graph to represent the structure of Web site. It has limitations, however, to discover the hyperlinks in Flash and Java Applet. The second phase is to find such hidden hyperlinks by using Web access log. It fist extracts the click streams from the access log, and then extract the hidden hyperlinks by comparing with the directed graph. Several experiments have been conducted to evaluate the proposed method.
An Implementation of
Algorithm with Turn Heuristic for Enhancing the Straightness of a Path

In driving a car, u-turn or left turn makes the speed of car decrease considerably or require more waiting time at the cross for the traffic signal to turn green. A more straight path, therefore, is probably fester to arrive at the destination than zig-zaged path with same distance. Previous works related to the path navigation do not consider the straightness of the path. In this paper, we have proposed the path navigation algorithm with turn heuristic for enhancing the straightness of a path. We have implement the proposed algorithm and compared it with a traditional
algorithm. The experimental result shows that the degree of the straightness of a path is enhanced by 30% and the navigation distance of a path is deceased by 3.3%.
A Study on the development of ECU for Adaptive Front-lighting System

Recently, according to traffic accident statistics, traffic accidents occurring at night are as frequent as those during daytime, but their death rate is 1.5 times higher than that of daytime traffic accidents. This problem originates that the insufficient range of vision security of a driver causes the inappropriate accident confrontation. Therefore, in this paper, a microcontroller-based digital control method for the superior performance in headlight system is presented for optimal control that can adapt complex transient state, steady state and various environments. Specially in vehicles# headlight, its fundamental purpose is to implement the artificial headlight system which automatically controls the lighting patterns most adaptive to driving, road and weather conditions. Therefore we aimed at the development of headlight system, focused on the implementation of an artificial vehicle, of more advanced convenience and safety for drivers.
Autonomous Mobile Robot System based on a Fuzzy Artificial Immune System

In this paper addresses the low-level behavior of fuzzy control and the high-level behavior selector for Autonomous Mobile Robots(AMRs) based on a Fuzzy Artificial Immune Network. The sensing information that comes from ultrasonic sensors is the antigen it, and stimulates antibodies. There are many possible combinations of actions between action-patterns and external situations. The question is how to handle the situations to decide the proper action. We propose a fuzzy artificial immune network to solve the above problem. and the computer simulation for an AMR action selector shows the usefulness of the proposed action selector.
Fabrication Techniques & Resonance Characteristics of FBAR Devices

Film bulk acoustic wave resonator(FBAR) technology has attracted a great attention as a promising technology to fabricate the next-generation RF filters mainly because the FBAR technology can be integrated with current Si processing. The RF filters are basically composed of several FBAR devices connected in parallel and in series, and their characteristics depend highly on the FBAR device characteristics. Thus, it is important to design high quality FBAR devices by device or process optimization. This kind of effort may enhance the FBAR device characteristics, eventually leading to FBAR filters of high performance. In this paper, we describe the methods to more effectively improve the resonance characteristics of the FBAR devices.

In this paper, the optimum amorphous silicon nitride thin film is deposited using plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition(PECVD). Amorphous silicon nitride is deposited using
gas. At this time, electrical and optical characteristics of amorphous silicon nitride and deposition rate are changed under deposition condition such as
gas flow rate, chamber pressure, rf power and substrate temperature. From the experimental results, we can estimate that the deposition condition makes a good electrical characteristic of amorphous silicon nitride thin film.
Circuit design of current driving A/D converter

Multi-stage folding A/D converter circuit with
N-well CMOS technology is designed. This A/D converter consists of a transconductance circuit, linear folder circuit and 1bit A/D converter circuit. In H-spice simulation results, linear folder circuits having high linearity can be obtained when the current mode is used instead of voltage mode. And in case of 6bit, the delay time is limited about 40ns. From this results, 6bit 25MSPS A/D converter circuit can be realized.
Design of Scan Conversion Processor for 3-Dimensional Mobile Graphics Application

In this paper, the scan conversion processor which converts the triangle represented by three vertices into pixel-level screen coordinates, depth coordinate, and color data is designed. The processor adopts scan-line algorithm which decomposes triangle into horizontal spans and then transforms the span into pixel data. By supporting top-left filling convention, it ensures that triangles that share an edge do not produce any dropouts or overlaps between adjacent polygons. It consists of about 21,400 gates and its maximum operating frequency is about 80 Mhz under 0.35um CMOS technology. Because its maximum pixel rate is about 80 Mpixels/sec, it can be applicable to mobile graphics application.
Image Distortion Correction Processing System Realization for Fisheye Lens Camera

A realization for image distortion correction processing system with DSP processor is presented in this paper. The image distortion correcting algorithm is realized by DSP processor for focusing on more real time processing than image quality. The lens and camera distortion coefficients are processed by the Lookup Tables and the correcting algorithm is applied to reverse mapping method for geometrical transform. The system experimentation results in the processing time about 31.3 msec
wide range image, and the image is stable and spontaneous to be about 8.3% average PSNR variation with changing a wide angle.
Performance of UWB Systems using Spatial Diversity in Multi-User Environments

In this paper, the performance improvement of ultra-wideband(UWB) communications system to achieve high-data-rate using spatial diversity provided by multiple receive antennas is investigated. We derive the expression for the received SINR after spatially combining through multiple receive antennas and evaluate the bit error rate(BER) performance by numerical simulation. We also compare the performance results in the case of 2PPM systems with the theoretical performance results in the case of 2PAM THMA UWB systems. The impacts of spatial diversity on the performance of 2PPM and 2PAM THMA UWB systems are analyzed. It is shown that the BER performance is improved as the number of receive antennas increases. Also, it is observed that in the presence of multiple user interference signals, the performance of 2PAM THMA UWB systems is considerably superior to that of 2PPM THMA UWB systems.
Lecture Video Display Technique using Extraction Region of Study based on PDA

The electronic learning helped a learner to overcome the time restriction by providing mobility, instantly and flexibility but the restriction in connection with space on cable computer remained unsolved. Accordingly, the electronic learning has tendency to change into mobile learning environment which allows a learner to overcome time and spatial restriction. However, these mobile devices have a limitation to awareness of learning contents provided over the realtime video movie due to its small display size. Therefore, this paper suggests a technique according to the following priority: for a real time learning image, extract region of study for region of interest, rescale the real time image to its proper size suitable for the display device, and then make it displayed on a wireless PDA. As a result of the experiment, we reduced the calculating time by sampling the field centering on learning contents adaptively and computing the field best suited for device size of the user effectively.

Mobile device will be able to use the various contents from the advancement of the wireless Internet and mobile device manufacture technique. Each devices is HTTP headers about under using provides device information to contents provider in the provide the contents. However, There is no standard for device information provided, so interoperability problems, because external contents using mobile phone companies to provide the device information in a different way. International Organization for Standard OMA UAProf about under using it solved interoperability problems from outside. However, in using the UAProf can not provide for the complete device information, because MMS support information, smart card support, information and support for external storage is not specified. Thus, In this paper, we designed UAProf in base which provides the contents which has become optimize to the mobile device of domestic environment the mobile device description language which expresses device information which is necessar, and it used to design and implementation of the Contents Adaptation System.
A Study on Image Recognition based on the Characteristics of Retinal Cells

Visual Cortex Stimulator is among artificial retina prosthesis for blind man, is the method that stimulate the brain cell directly without processing the information from retina to visual cortex. In this paper, we propose image construction and recognition model that is similar to human visual processing by recognizing the feature data with orientation information, that is, the characteristics of visual cortex. Back propagation algorithm based on Delta-bar delta is used to recognize after extracting image feature by Kirsh edge detector. Various numerical patterns are used to analyze the performance of proposed method. In experiment, the proposed recognition model to extract image characteristics with the orientation of information from retinal cells to visual cortex makes a little difference in a recognition rate but shows that it is not sensitive in a variety of learning rates similar to human vision system.
Self Disease Diagnosis System Using Enhanced ART2 Algorithm

In this paper, we have proposed a self disease diagnosis system for ordinary persons to help the decision of access methods to a specialized medical management, and for medical specialities to discover new diseases and their symptoms easily, using verification of an individual#s health status by a series of processes performed by oneself. In the proposed self disease diagnosis system, illness is decided by 60 kinds of diseases selected using the report called #Diseases that Koreans take seriously# published by Ministry of Health & Welfare and medical contents called #Engel Pharm#, and also using 161 representative symptoms for the 60 kinds of diseases. An individual#s health information is extracted by diagnosis of one#s health status by a clustering of the 60 kinds of diseases using enhanced ART2 algorithm and input vectors from the results of questions for symptoms of each disease.
Blind Nonlinear Channel Equalization by Performance Improvement on MFCM

In this paper, a Modified Fuzzy C-Means algorithm with Gaussian Weights(MFCM_GW) is presented for nonlinear blind channel equalization. The proposed algorithm searches the optimal channel output states of a nonlinear channel from the received symbols, based on the Bayesian likelihood fitness function and Gaussian weighted partition matrix instead of a conventional Euclidean distance measure. Next, the desired channel states of a nonlinear channel are constructed with the elements of estimated channel output states, and placed at the center of a Radial Basis Function(RBF) equalizer to reconstruct transmitted symbols. In the simulations, binary signals are generated at random with Gaussian noise. The performance of the proposed method is compared with those of a simplex genetic algorithm(GA), a hybrid genetic algorithm(GA merged with simulated annealing(SA): GASA), and a previously developed version of MFCM. It is shown that a relatively high accuracy and fast search speed has been achieved.
A P2P Media Streaming by SDS : Sequential Download System

In this paper, we proposed a Sequential Download System(SDS) to provide high steaming QoS in p2p network. SDS is able to receive a media file simultaneously from multiple source peer by download manager and deal with unexpected leave of source peer. Also It can provide stable streaming services with minimum buffering delay and manage request of other peer by memory map in process of downloading.
Indoor RSSI Characterization using Statistical in Wireless Sensor Network

In indoor environment, the combination of the two variations, large scale(path loss) and small scale(fading), leads to non-linear variation of RSSI(received signal strength indicator) values as distance varied. This has been one of the difficulties for indoor location estimation. This paper presents new findings on indoor RSSI characterization for more accurate model building. Experiments have been done statistically to find overall trend of RSSI values at different places and times within the same room. From experiments, it has been shown that the variation of RSSI values can be determined by both spatial and temporal factors. These two factors are directly indicated by the two main parameters of path loss model. The results show that all sensor nodes which are located at different places share the same characterization value for the temporal parameter whereas different values for the spatial parameters. The temporal parameter also has a large scale variation effect that is slowly time varying due to environmental changes. Using this relationship, the characterization for location estimation can be more efficient and accurate.
A Study on Multi-Object Tracking Method using Color Clustering in ISpace

The Intelligent Space(ISpace) provides challenging research fields for surveillance, human-computer interfacing, networked camera conferencing, industrial monitoring or service and training applications. ISpace is the space where many intelligent devices, such as computers and sensors, are distributed. According to the cooperation of many intelligent devices, the environment, it is very important that the system knows the location information to offer the useful services. In order to achieve these goals, we present a method for representing, tracking and human following by fusing distributed multiple vision systems in ISpace, with application to pedestrian tracking in a crowd. This paper described appearance based unknown object tracking with the distributed vision system in intelligent space. First, we discuss how object color information is obtained and how the color appearance based model is constructed from this data. Then, we discuss the global color model based on the local color information. The process of learning within global model and the experimental results are also presented.
Mobility Support of IEEE 802.15.4 MAC in Wireless Sensor Networks

The traditional sensor network is composed of the cable and the sensor of high price, when collecting a sensing data, there is a weak point which is not pliability. WSN uses the equipment of low price, it will be able to collect the data which is diverse from various node. In this paper we composed coal mining topology which used IEEE802.15.4 MAC in Korea Coal Corporation site. We proposed models for the mobility support of the work manager from the coal mining, we selected the optimum model through simulation experiments. When applying the WSN in the Korea Coal Corporation and other mines, this result can be used as a basis.
A Quality Evaluation and Analysis of the On-Line Edutainment Software

An edutainment is a composite which are joining with the serveral matter and the multiplicity of techqniues An Eduainment software use serveral audio and video media. The human have different preference to audio and video media. It is difficult to evaluate quality of an edutainment software than a general software. So, we need an evaluation factors to compare quality of edutainment software. We developed the evaluation factors for edutainment software. And the middle school students used the evaluation factors to evaluate the favorite edutainment softwares among them. We evaluate and analyze the results.
