Many various digital contents came out to our world owing to the advance of information and communication technologies. More rapidly the technologies of information and communication develop, more classes disadvantaged might appear so that it might incur society with distinction in getting information which is called digital divide. In this time, public library has to play important rules in dissolving the digital divide of our society. In this paper, we will not investigate only how much users of digital multimedia centers in the public library satisfy, but also what factors affect the satisfaction of the users significantly. Specially, we will analyze difference of the influence factors between urban and rural region so that we will propose strategy for operating the digital multimedia centers in the public library efficiently and effectively in order to dissolve the digital divide.

In this paper, We examine the point at issue of domestic telecommunications and standards. In Korea, since we can't lighten effectively the regulatory due to operate separately both of Regulations and Standards, we should convert regulation regulatory into standard regulatory through the correlation between Regulations and Standards. In the view of expected effect, practical use for consolidating the establishment and amendment of the national telecommunications standards, and making the consolidation plan of standardization Acts and practical use for making the correlation plan between the telecommunication regulations and standards.
Design and Fabrication of Isolator for Mobile Repeater

The lumped element isolators with temperature compensation magnetic circuits were designed in this paper. Isolators for mobile repeater at each band of K-PCS, GSM1900, W-CDMA, WiBro were fabricated by using optimum parameters of EM simulation, Form the results of this study, first of all, insertion loss at K-PCS band was below 0.2 dB and return loss was over 25dB. The bandwidth in isolation 23dB was found 30 MHz. Secondly, the figures of both losses at GSM1900 were 0.25dB and 23dB, respectively. The measured bandwidth in isolation 30dB was 60MHz. Thirdly, the losses at W-CDMA band were 0.15dB and 25dB. The bandwidth in isolation 24.8dB was found 60Mhz. Finally, the figures of both losses at Wibro band were 0.25dB and 23dB, respectively. The measured bandwidth in isolation 22.1dB was 100Mhz. In addition, the results of measured IMD were shown from 76.4dBc to 80.1dBc.
Algorithm to prevent Block Discontinuity by Overlapped Block and Manning Window

In this paper, we propose an Overlapped Block and an Hanning Window to prevent a Block Discontinuity when we use an algorithm to eliminate ringing artifact which is based on a block structure. The algorithm to eliminate ringing artifact operates with a block structure and 24-RGB data and is based on a modified K-means algorithm. The proposed overlapped block method is piled up one on another per an half of the size of unit-block when an input image is split into several unit-blocks. Therefore, we define a data unit as the unit-block of the block size,
pixels. We reconstruct the processed data units into the original form of input image by using an isotropic form of Hanning Window. Finally, in order to evaluate the performance of the abovementioned algorithms, we compare three image, an input image with ringing artifact, an image result obtained by conventional method (non-overlapped), and an image result obtained the proposed method.
Analysis of Doppler Effects in OFDM Systems Using Transceiver Diversity

The popularity of OFDM systems is being increased because of high speed data transmission capability md the spectral efficiency characteristics. However, since OFDM systems are very sensitive to the Doppler spread, The interference among subcarriers and the total system noise can be increased seriously due to the degree of Doppler effects which can cause the orthogonality problems. Therefore, these Doppler effects were analyzed using the Doppler spectrum models by varying its parameters. Especially in this paper, The degree of system performance degradation was investigated for the OFDM systems applying the relatively simple transmit and receiver diversity. The degree of the system performance degradation depends on the specific diversity structures of transceiver systems. Here, the performances of OFDM systems with two antennas transceiver diversity were analyzed and compared with that of systems with only transmission diversity and without diversity as the Doppler characteristics varied.
An Enhanced Routing Protocol for Supporting Node Mobility in Multi-hop Ad-hoc Networks

Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) refer to autonomous networks in which wireless data communications are established between multiple nodes in a given coverage area without a base station or centralized administration. Because of node mobility and limited battery life, the network topology may changes frequently. Selecting the most reliable path during route discovery process is important to improve performance in ad-hoc networks. In this study, we proposed an enhanced routing protocol based on AODV by monitoring variation of receiving signal strength. New metric function that consists of node mobility and hops of path is used for routing decision. From extensive experiments by using NS-2, The performance of the proposed routing scheme has been imp개ved by comparison to AODV protocol.

Clustering Approach for Topology Control in Multi-Radio Wireless Mesh Networks

Clustering is a topology control approach often used in wireless ad hoc networks to improve scalability and prolong network lifetime. Furthermore, it is also employed to provide semi-management functionalities and capacity enhancement. The usage of clustering topology control technique can also be applied to multi-radio wireless mesh network. This would utilize the advantages of the multi-radio implementation in the network. The aggregation would result to a more stable, connected, scalable and energy-efficient network. On this paper, we design a clustering algorithm for multi-radio wireless mesh network that would use these advantages and would take into consideration both mobility and heterogeneity of the network entities. We also show that the algorithm terminates at a definite time t and the message control overhead complexity is of constant order of O(1) per node.
A Study of a Composite Sensor and Control Network and Its Test-bed for the Intelligent and Digital Home

Advances in technologies of networking, chip integration, and embedded system have enabled sensor networks applicable to a wide range of areas. Sharing some common characteristics, sensor networks are thus diversified in features depending on their applications. An intelligent and digital home can be one area to establish a particular feature of sensor network. This paper proposes a composite sensor and control network, and discusses its applying to the next generation intelligent and digital home. Development results of the network and a test-bed as a virtual test environment are also presented. The proposed network can not only be efficiently applying to achieve new home intelligences but also provide a sound solution to maintenance and operations of home network or devices.
XML Encryption System on WIPI Environment

Recently The biggest three mobile telecommunication companies of our country still using independence wireless internet platform. And, It can so many difficulties to the phone company and content provide company. Such as the timing of the development or the fee of the development. Because even they develop one product and Hey must make it prepare for some platform of every mobile telecommunication companies. And this make the development more longer and more expensive. For this reason, SKT, LG telecom and KTF develop the new wireless internet platform named WIPI with ETRI. and the working is still go on and go ahead with propulsion. And if it come to reality, the WIPI will attached from much of attack such as hacking or virus. But some data exchange between mobile phone is so important as to flow. Thus, in this paper, we consideration the XML using in the wireless environment and we are design and implementation the XML encryption system working at the WIPI in order to protect the data, we want to protect.
A FPGA Implementation of Stream Cipher Algorithm Dragon

Dragon Stream Cipher is proposed for software base implementation in the eSTREAM project. Now this stream cipher is selected as a phase 3 focus candidate. Dragon is a new stream cipher contructed using a single word based NIFSR(non-linear feed back shift register) and 128/256 key/IV(Initialization Vector). Dragon is the keystream generator that produce 64bits of keystream. In this paper, we present an implementation of Drag(m stream cipher algorithm in hardware. Finally, the implementation is on Altera FPGA device, EP3C35F672I and the timing simulation is done on Altera's Quartus II. A result of 111MHz maximum clock rate and 7.1Gbps is throughput is obtained from the implementation.
A Design of ADC with Multi SHA Structure which for High Data Communication

In this paper, ADC with multi SHA structure is proposed for high speed operation. The proposed structure incorporates a multi SHA block that consists of multiple SHAs of identical characteristics in parallel to improve the conversion speed. The designed multi SHA is operated by non-overlapping clocks and the sampling speed can be improved by increasing the number of multiplexed SHAs. Pipelined A/D converter, applying the proposed structure, is designed to satisfy requirement of analog front-end of VDSL modem. The measured INL and DNL of designed A/D converter are
, respectively. It satisfies the design specifications for VDSL modems. The simulated SNR is about 66dB which corresponds to a 10.7 bit resolution. The power consumption is 24.32mW.
Characteristics of Quasi-MFISFET Device Considering Leakage Current

In this study , quasi-MFISFET (Metal-Ferroelectric-Insulator-Semiconductor FET) devices are fabricated using PLZT(10/30/70), PLT(10), PZT(30/70) thin film and their drain current properties are investigated. It is found that the drain current of quasi-MFISFET is directly influenced by the polarization strength of ferroelectric thin fan. Also, when the gate voltages are
, the memory windows are 0.5 and 1.3V, respectively. It means that the memory window is changed with the variation of coercive voltage generated by the voltage applied on ferroelectric thin film. The electric field and the leakage current with time delay of PLZT(10/30/70) thin lam are measured to investigate the retention property of MFISFET device. Some material parameters such as current density constant,
, electric field dependent factor K and time dependent factor m are obtained. The variation of charge density with time is quantitatively analyzed by using the material parameters.
An improved electrode structure of the Patterned Vertical Aligned Liquid Crystal Cell for high transmittance

In this paper we propose a novel electrode structure for high transmittance in the Patterned Vertical Alignment (PVA) LC cell. We use the 'TechWiz LCD' for calculation of the director configuration and optical characteristics. We studied the area decreasing the transmittance through the electrode structure for wide viewing angle and proposed new electrode design to change LC director configuration in the area. We show the comparison of the calculated optical transmittance between the conventional PVA mode and the proposed PVA mode. From the results, we confirm that the optical transmittance of the proposed structure of the PVA cell becomes higher.
A Study on the Improvement of Technical Regulations in the Customer Cabling Systems for FTTH

In this paper, we have carried out some tests for analyzing the effects of optical fiber characteristics and piping structures in designing a Customer Cabling System with optical fibers. In this tests, the loss characteristics due to the number of curvatures and the radius of curvature with bending to establish an optical fiber have analyzed particularly. We can confirm that the test results satisfy the current technical regulations in both cases of the number of curvatures and the radius of curvatures. Also, in particular, since there is no loss in an optical cable under the current radius of curvature, that is 30mm, the radius criteria of curvature needs to be revised. These tests results will be so useful to revise and establish a customer cabling system for FTTH.
A Study on Phase Error of Orthogonal MC DS-CDMA Using Hybrid SC/MRC-2/4

In this paper, the Hybrid SC/MRC-2/4 method in which bit synchronization and phase synchronization were not required was applied to the orthogonal MC DS-CDMA system in which each normalized subcarrier interval and processing gain had the same value, respectively, and the direct sequence spread code of each subcarrier was orthogonal. In the broadband wireless system in which multi-carrier transmission was used, a Doppler frequency shift occurred, which was caused by the difference between the highest subcarrier frequency md the lowest subcarrier frequency. In order to complement phase error caused by the shift, the orthogonal MC DS-CDMA system was analyzed so that the receiving signal could be perfectly synchronized by adjusting the PLL gain suitable for the entire system. As a result of simulations, as the PLL gain was increased, the change in the intervals was close to the case of perfect synchronization however, it became less when the PLL gain reached more than a certain value. Therefore, by selecting a proper PLL gain suitable for the system the orthogonal MC DS-CDMA can be designed in which the Hybrid SC/MRC method is applied.
Mobile User Task Prediction Models and Accuracy Evaluation Method

In order to provide the convenient access to the mobile services and the efficient utilization of the mobile devices, it is required to devise an intelligent user interface which guarantees the efficient task selection and transition in the limited input/output environments of the mobile devices. In this paper, we propose user task prediction models which are essential for the intelligent user interface, and an accuracy estimation model is also proposed for evaluating the prediction models.
Intra-Body Communication System for Bio Sensors

In this paper, we propose a new Intra-body communication system for bio-sensor which is one of applications in PAN(Personal Area Network) using body channel. The communication systems for bio-sensor network usually transmits a lot of data acquired in sensor to the receiver in wrist or waist. So we deign the intra-body modem with high data rate, low power, and small size which are achieved by baseband communication techniques. It is noted that the baseband transmission does not requires any analog IF and RF frontends, and can be operated in lower frequency than bandpass transmission. Performance Improvement of the Macro Handover using the Address Insurance Policy in HMIPv6

The binding update of MIPv6 which basically makes a route optimization lets MN bring about high signaling traffic, packet loss and delay. HMIPv6, which introduces the MAP protocol, makes the signaling traffic low, thereby reducing the packet losses and delay. However, it still has the same problem in MIPv6 in the case of macro mobility. This paper proposes HMIPv6 with the address insurance policy. It makes MAP prepare LCoA and RCoA before the macro handover happens. When it happens, MN is able to use them after the registration is done in the foreign network. The perormance can be improved because MAP is composed to assure the address in advance. In addition the MAP sends the BU message during the handover, thereby making the proposed scheme better. The simulation shows that the proposed scheme is about 33% shorter than HMIPv6 in the handover delay and about 22% less than FMIPv6 in the packet loss.
A Design of Model For Interoperability in Multi-Database based XMDR on Distributed Environments

The necessity of Information integration has emphasized by advancement of internet and change of enterprise environment. In enterprises, it usually integrates the multi-database constructing by M&A. For this integration of information it must guarantee interpretation and integration which is stabilized with solving heterogeneous characteristic problem. In this paper, we propose the method that change the global XML query to local XML query for interpretation. It is based on XMDR(eXtended Meta-Data Registry) which expresses the connection between the standard and the local for solve the interoperability problem in heterogeneous environment. Thus, we propose the legacy model that can search and modify by one Query with creating global XML Query by XMDR. and for his, we use the 2PC technique which is the distributed transaction control technique of existing.
Mobile Implementation of Enhanced Dynamic Signature Verification for the Smart-phone

We propose a new enhanced graphical user interface and algorithm for dynamic signature verification using Smart-phone. Also, we describe the performance results of our dynamic signature verification system, which determine the authentication of signatures by comparing and analyzing various dynamic data shape of the signature, writing speed, slant of shape, and the order and number of strokes for personal signatures using an electronic pen, expecting the system to be understood and utilized widely in the industrial field.
Recognition of Resident Registration Cards Using ART-1 and PCA Algorithm

In this paper, we proposed a recognition system for resident registration cards using ART-1 and PCA algorithm. To extract registration numbers and issue date, Sobel mask and median filter are applied first and noise removal follows. From the noise-removed image, horizontal smearing is used to extract the regions, which are binarized with recursive binarization algorithm. After that vortical smearing is applied to restore corrupted lesions, which are mainly due to the horizontal smearing. from the restored image, areas of individual codes are extracted using 4-directional edge following algorithm and face area is extracted by the morphologic characteristics of a registration card. Extracted codes are recognized using ART-1 algorithm and PCA algorithm is used to verify the face. When the proposed method was applied to 25 real registration card images, 323 characters from 325 registration numbers and 166 characters from 167 issue date numbers, were correctly recognized. The verification test with 25 forged images showed that the proposed verification algorithm is robust to detect forgery.
A Study on the Implementation of a Portable Healthcare System using Zigbee

Recently there are some trends to construct smart home system infrastructure depending upon the development of Information and Communication Technology. Also requirements of the Ubiquitous Healthcare Systems at home which can monitor the status of health continuously are increased rapidly comparing with hospitals. Healthcare service can be divided into two categories. The first one is Alarm Service that can be used for the emergency status and the other one is Remote Support Service which can monitor the patient including home environments and give those diagnosis information to medical office or to his family. Generally wired networks and fixed healthcare measuring system have some limits to transmit reliable realtime based information for both categories described above comparing with portable monitoring system. Getting over the inefficiency we will design and implement portable healthcare system under the wireless Zigbee network environments.
Delay and Energy-Aware Routing Algorithm For Energy-Constrained Wireless Networks

Wireless Ad-hoc networks may contain nodes of various types of which many can have limited power capabilities. A failure of a node due to energy exhaustion may impact the performance of the whole network hence, energy must be conserved. In this paper, we propose a Delay and Energy-Aware Routing (DEAR) algorithm a multiple metric path cost routing algorithm which considers not only the energy consumed by the node during transmission and reception but as well as the residual energy of the node and the delay incurred during route discovery. Based on our results, DEAR algorithm performs well and maximizes network lifetime by routing flows to nodes with sufficient energy such that the energy consumption is balanced among nodes in proportion to their energy reserves.
