An Estimation of Market Potential in Ubiquitous Health industry - Focused on Communication Companies -

This paper is to estimate the market potentiality of ubiquitous health(u-health) from a viewpoint of communication companies. For this estimation, we used the CVM and adopted the ratio of ovum(2000) in overall market of u-health. That is, firstly, we assumed the u-business model was based on mobile business approach. Through this estimation, we conclude that communication companies at the initial stage of the u-health market can continuously promote the market share ratio via strategic alliance with the players participating.
Design and Implementation of a Chaotic Oscillator for UWB

Chaotic oscillators can generate wide-band signals and the spectrum characteristics of the wide-band signals are not changed by switching on and off the output power of the oscillators. When communication systems use a chaotic oscillator, the communication system need not a local oscillator and a mixer used in conventional transceivers. Therefore the configuration of a communication system using a chaotic oscillator is simple and have the characteristics of low-power consumption. In this paper we design and implement a chaotic oscillator. And the test results of the implemented chaotic oscillator for UWB systems are presented. The implemented chaotic oscillator has -8.11dBm of the output power with 500MHz channel bandwidth at 3.4GHz of the center frequency and has about 410MHz of -10dB bandwidth.
A Study on the Design of FFT Processor for UWB Ultrafast Wireless Communication Systems

We design and synthesize a 128-point FFT processor for multi-band OFDM, which can be applied to a UWB transceiver. The structure of a 128-point FFT processor is based on a Radix-2 FFT algorithm and a R2SDF pipeline architecture. The algorithm is efficiently modeled in VHDL and the result is simulated using Modelsim. Finally, they are synthesized on Xilinx Vertex-II FPGA, and an operational frequency of 18.7MHz has been obtained. It is expected that the proposed 128-point FFT processor can be applied to an entire FFT block as one of parallel processed FFTs. In order to obtain the enhanced maximum frequency of operation, we design the FFT module consisting of four 128-point FFT processors for parallel process. As a result, we achieve the performance requirement of computing the FFT module in multi-band OFDM symbol timing in 90nm ASIC process.
MRBR-based JPEG2000 Codec for Stereoscopic Image Compression of 3-Dimensional Digital Cinema

In In this paper, we proposed a new JPEG2000 codec using multiresolution-based rendering (MRBR) technique for video compression of 3-dimensional digital cinema. We introduced discrete wavelet transform (DWT) for stereoscopic image and stereo matching technique in the wavelet domain. The disparity was extracted using stereo matching and transmitted with the reference (left) image. Since the generated right image was degraded by the occlusion lesion, the residual image which is generated from difference between the original right image and the generated one was transmitted at the same tine. The disparity data was extracted using the dynamic programming method in the disparity domain. There is high correlation between the higher and lower subbands. Therefore we decreased the calculation amount and enhanced accuracy by restricting the search window and applying the disparity information generated from higher subband.
A Parsing Method for an Incomplete XML

XML is one of standard web languages. XML has a syntax architecture consisted of tags, which are used to descript contents and structures of a XML document. In XML documents, missing of markup tag is one of common factors generating incomplete inputs. Usually, editors will recognize incomplete inputs as syntax errors. And so, when editors find them, they will highlight lines in which syntax errors happened, and execute appropriate error handling routines. But, there are no more parsing actions. In this paper, we propose a method to recognize incomplete input strings and keep parsing phases going. To recognize pars missed grammatically in incomplete inputs and create them newly, we use an expanding parsing table. It includes additional parsing actions for newly generated input symbols. Through the information, incomplete inputs will be completed and parsing steps will be finished successively. Therefore, users can be assured that they make always correct XML documents, even if inputs are incomplete, and can not be nervous about input faults.
Peak Detection of Pulse Wave Based on Fuzzy Inference and Multi Sub-Band Filters for U-Healthcare

Ubiquitous healthcare system is system that monitors and manages user's health information, and most important in the healthcare system is accuracy of the measured health data. But, the accuracy changes remarkably according to user's motion artifacts in real life. To elevate accuracy of health data, we proposed new algorithm to detect maximum point of pulse wave for heart rate extraction. and the proposed algorithm is to detect maximum points detect of pulse wave in photo-plethysmography signal included motion artifacts by fuzzy inference and multi sub-band filters. In results of experiment to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, we could verify the proposed algorithm extracted maximum point of pulse wave in complex motion artifacts.
Implementation of Local Distribution Audio System Based on AoIP

In this parer, it is implemented a Local distribution Audio System, based on AoIP(Audio over Internet Protocol) of a part of TCP/IP Network which belongs to Internet transmission technology. The system is controlled based on SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) and it is transferred to UDP as packet after changing from Analog audio sources to Digital audio sources. The implemented Local distribution Audio System have presented practical possibilities in PA system transmitting various audio sources to several areas, dispersedly and using multichannel audio like Home theaters in the limelight, recently.

Recently, Network companies have introduced security solutions to protect the network from intrusions, attacks and viruses but the network has still weakness and vulnerability. It is time to bring more stable and reliable authentication system that would meet the Internet user's need. In this study, Current broadband networks don't have hierarchic and stable authentication solutions. And so, an integrated and hierarchic system is needed to provide a various kinds of application services. I'd like to present a new authentication system which is based on unified web authentication design. It will unit various authentication systems that have been deployed in various network environment and reinforce network security to provice a various kinds of application services in a stable and safe environment. that is a simple and more secure method for fighting a rise in card-not-present fraud.
Block Selection Strategy for P2P Streaming

The P2P technology has been widely used to distribute files efficiently, and its use in streaming is rapidly increasing. P2P streaming has issues about startup-delay, scalability, and real-time playback, however, what affects these factors has not been researched sufficiently. This paper suggests a buffering model for progressive download within mesh-based P2P system, which corresponds to downloading and playing the content at the same time. It is used to analyze PDF(Playback Deadline First), Rarest algorithms which are block-selection strategies of P2P streaming and proposes a mixed selection of them. The mixed block selection strategy dynamically performs different strategies based on whether the blocks to be played are received or not. In consequence, it enhances the QoS of streaming in a single peer point of view, as well as improving block distributions in an overlay network.
Analysis of Secure Remote Access to Virtual Private Home Network with L2TP Tunneling methods

Home network is the connection and communication of several electronic and electrical devices at hone with the integration of several technologies like Ethernet, wireless, phone line and power-line at the residential gateway to the internet. This internet based home network can be accessed from any part of the world through any device by any poison via internet. Since home network is developed for comfortable and safe life of home users, the information flow to/from home network needs to be private. Hence the remote access of the home network must be secured. This paper analyses two secure tunneling methods, voluntary and compulsory for L2TP(Layer Two Tunneling Protocol) based VPN(Virtual Private Network) for secure remote access of the home network.
Performance of 802.11b/g under Different Data Rates and Traffic Rates in Mobile IPv4 Environment

The use of WLAN technology specially 802.11 b and g has seen huge subscriber growth in a relatively short time period due to low cost and ease of installation of WLAN hardware. These technologies provide multiple data rates ranging from 1 to 54 Mbps depending on modulation used in physical layer. This paper presents the performance of 802.11b and g under different data rates in mobile IPv4 environment. OPNET is used in the study as the network simulator. The performance metrics used in this wort is data traffic received by a WLAN station roaming amongst Access Point(AP) of different ESSs. It is found that much data packets are lost during handover between mobile agents. The traffic received by the roaming station varies based on the data rates provided by two different WLAN technologies.
A Construction of the Linear Digital Switching Function over Finite Fields

This paper presents a method of constructing the Linear Digital Switching Function(LDSF) over finite fields. The proposed method is as following. First of all, we extract the input/output relationship of linear characteristics for the given digital switching functions, Next, we convert the input/output relationship to Directed Cyclic Graph(DCG) using basic gates adder and coefficient multiplier that are defined by mathematical properties in finite fields. Also, we propose the new factorization method for matrix characteristics equation that represent the relationship of the input/output characteristics. The proposed method have properties of generalization and regularity. Also, the proposed method is possible to any prime number multiplication expression.
XMDR Hub Framework for Business Process Interoperability based on Store-Procedure

Various kind of business process exists within enterprise. These business processes achieve business purposes while operate and control using eAI solution. However legacy systems-ERP, PDM are able to many cooperations and interoperability. Generally real data is becoming interoperability using query based on store-procedure on legacy system for business process transaction. Also, It may occur some problems among schema conversion, matching, mapping and other heterogeneous between data interoperability in process. We propose business process interoperability framework based on XMDR Hub that can guarantee interoperability between legacy systems using process that is consisted of SQL query based on store-procedure. It is easy to process data interoperability between legacy systems when business process execute.
An Efficient Updates Processing Using Labeling Scheme In Dynamic Ordered XML Trees

Labeling schemes which don't consider about frequent update in dynamic XML documents need relabeling process to reflect the changed label information whenever the tree of XML document is update. There is disadvantage of considerable expenses in the dynamic XML document which can occurs frequent update. To solve this problem, we suggest prime number labeling scheme that doesn't need relabeling process. However the prime number labeling scheme does not consider that it needs to update the sibling order of nodes in the XML tree of document. This update process needs much costs because the most of the XML tree of document has to be relabeling and recalculation. In this paper, we propose the prime number labeling scheme with sibling order value that can maintain the sibling order without relabeling or recalculation the XML tree of documents.
The Design of Cocurrent Two-Way Synchronizations Protocol on a Mobile Environments

As the mobile devices and the wireless networks have high-performance capabilities, it is possible to synchronize the spatio-temporal data of a server with the spatio-temporal data of a mobile device which are collected at a field. However, since the server process the synchronization which the model device requests, the whole synchronizations of mass mobile devices take long time. In this paper, we propose the scheme to process concurrently the synchronizations of mobile devices to use multi-queue which does not conflict.
Dynamic Adjustment Policy of degrees of difficulty for E-learning Databank Based Selection System

Most questions made for remote examinations on E-learning databank based selection system use methods of making questions automatically using degrees of difficulty. This method is the kernel of a question selection that degrees of difficulty as make test questions, and then needs continuous management for degrees of difficulty. This paper presents improved algorithms for dynamically adjustment of degrees of difficulty based on examination result that is more efficient sot of questions. We identified this algorithm is more effective as compared with previous algorithms on web-based education systems.
Study of Engine Control/Performance Modeling for Helicopter Simulator

Engine control/performance model for helicopter simulator if one of the most important models which affect flight performance and handling quality. It is typical to develop the model based on the raw data and models from the engine designers/manufacturers. The approaches in this study were to develop the basic model bated on the available resources and to tune and verify it based on the ground/flight test results. The maintenance manuals of TB3-117 which is installed in KA-327 were reviewed and the components to be simulated for the engine control model were categorized and modeled. Piece-wise linear modeling method was used for the engine performance model. The engine performance data in the engine maintenance manuals were incorporated into the engine steady state performance tablet, which were incorporated with the transfer functions for the dynamic performance. Engine control/performance model was compared and tuned with the round/flight test results. It was verified that the fidelity of the model was within the tolerances in FAA AC120-63.
Correlation between the Potential Barrier and Variation of Temperature on SiOC thin film

The SiOC films as the carbon doped silicon oxide film were prepared with the variation of flow rater ratios by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition. The samples were analyzed by the fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, I-V measurement and scanning electron microscopy. The samples were shown the chemical shift according to the flow rate ratios, and the grain did not formed at the sample with hybrid properties. The leakage currents decreased according to the increasing of the substrate temperature at the sample with hybrid properties, but the potential barrier increased.
Thermal Transfer Analysis of Micro Flow Sensor using by Markov Chain MCM

To design micro flow sensor varying depending on temperature of driving heater in the detector of Oxide semiconductor, Markov chain MCM(MCMCM), which is a kind of stochastic and microscopic method, was introduced. The formulation for the thermal transfer equation based on the FDM to obtain the MCMCM solution was performed and investigated, in steady state case. MCMCM simulation was successfully applied, so that its application can be expanded to a three-dimensional model with inhomogeneous material and complicated boundary.
The Design Of Microarray Classification System Using Combination Of Significant Gene Selection Method Based On Normalization.

Significant genes are defined as genes in which the expression level characterizes a specific experimental condition. Such genes in which the expression levels differ significantly between different groups are highly informative relevant to the studied phenomenon. In this paper, first the system can detect informative genes by similarity scale combination method being proposed in this paper after normalizing data with methods that are the most widely used among several normalization methods proposed the while. And it compare and analyze a performance of each of normalization methods with multi-perceptron neural network layer. The Result classifying in Multi-Perceptron neural network classifier for selected 200 genes using combination of PC(Pearson correlation coefficient) and ED(Euclidean distance coefficient) after Lowess normalization represented the improved classification performance of 98.84%.
Relations NOAA/AVHRR SST between Migratory Fishes in the Korean Seas

It was studied to the displacement and the amount of catch for migratory fishes with NOAA/AVHRR SST(Sea Surface Temperature) from 1988 to 2000 in the Korean Seas. The analyzed results from SST data showed generally the oceanic warming trend in the Korean Seas. On the increasement of SST, the distributed areas of migratory fishes which living in the warm waters were displaced gradually to the northward directions(high latitude) and then the amount of catch was increased during this studied periods against to migratory fishes which living in the cold waters.
Resolution enhancement of 3D images using computational integral imaging reconstruction method based on scale-variant magnification

In this paper, we propose a computational integral imaging reconstruction (CIIR) method based on scale-cariant magnification technique for resolution-enhanced 3D images. First, we introduce an interference problem among elemental images in CIIR. Magnification by a large factor causes inference among elemental images when they are applied to the superposition process. Thus, the resolution of reconstructed images is limited. To overcome the interference problem, we propose a method to calculate a minimum magnification factor while CIIR is still valid. Magnification by a new factor enables the Proposed method to reconstruct resolution-enhanced images. In addition, the computational load of the proposed method is less than that of the previous method. To confirm the feasibility of the proposed method, some experiments are carried out and the results are presented.
A Design of Intermediary based Framework for Improving Mobile Web-Service Performance

Nowadays, in many mobile device environment, while the demand for using web service is increasing, there are many limitations on web-browsing in wireless network because of various restrictions and problems in reality. We need improvement in function of mobile web service engine because we can't be satisfied with the multiple demands by using previous capacity of web server in rapidly changing web environment. Therefore, this paper improves the service environment for web service users by introducing intermediary technology to web service. This paper embodies intermediary based web service framework for improvement of the function of mobile web service and for the interoperability of mobile device and web server.
Design of a RS(23,17) Reed-Solomon Decoder

In this paper, we design a RS(23,17) decoder for MB-OFDM(Multiband-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system, in which Modified Euclidean(ME) algorithm is adopted for key equation solver block. The proposed decoder has been optimized for MB-OFDM system so that it has less latency and hardware complexity. Additionally, we have implemented the proposed decoder using Verilog HDL and synthesized with Samsung 65nm library. From synthesis results, it can operate at clock frequency of 250MHz, and gate count is 20,710.
Method of Detecting and Isolating an Attacker Node that Falsified AODV Routing Information in Ad-hoc Sensor Network

In ad-hoc sensor network, AODV routing information is disclosed to other nodes because AODV protocol doesn't have any security mechanisms. The problem of AODV is that an attacker can falsify the routing information in RREQ packet. If an attacker broadcasts the falsified packet, other nodes will update routing table based on the falsified one so that the path passing through the attacker itself can be considered as a shortest path. In this paper, we design the routing-information-spoofing attack such as falsifying source sequence number and hop count fields in RREQ packet. And we suggest an efficient scheme for detecting the attackers and isolating those nodes from the network without extra security modules. The proposed scheme doesn't employ cryptographic algorithm and authentication to reduce network overhead. We used NS-2 simulation to evaluate the network performance. And we analyzed the simulation results on three cases such as an existing normal AODV, AODV under the attack and proposed AODV. Simulation results using NS2 show that the AODV using proposed scheme can protect the routing-information-spoofing attack and the total n umber of received packets for destination node is almost same as the existing norm at AODV.
Design and Implementation of JAIN SIP-based Softphone Client

SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) has become an universal standard for multimedia communications for both wired and wireless networks since it has been adopted as a standard protocol for IMS platform in 3GPP standardization organization at November 2000. In this paper, we design and implement a SIP-based softphone client program which provides telephony service between internet users and a call center equipped with VoIP gateway. A softphone client based on PC-to-phone connection should guarantee to provide interoperability with various VoIP gateways and higher portability to be able to operate on different PC environments. The softphone client program in this paper has been developed with SIP 2.0 standard protocol to support interoperability and with JAIN SIP and JMF package to achieve higher portability.
Energy efficient Sensor Network for ubiquitous greenhouse by using Wireless Mesh Networks

The study that automates the variety of equipment using the USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Networks) has been executed, and the research field is ranged to almost all fields including a road, harbors. building, military affairs, agriculture and home. By deploying these sensors into the greenhouse environment, we can monitor the environmental change and the growth of plants 24 hours a day. However, the limited resources of a sensor node like limited energy, short transmission range etc, make it difficult to expand the size of the sensor networks. In this paper, we studied to expand the site of sensor networks by using WMN(Wireless Mesh Networks) with simulation. With this simulation, we could validate that using the Wireless Mesh Networks technology for expanding sensor networks is more efficient in the energy aspect than the normal sensor network.
A Greenhouse, Diseases and Insects Monitoring System based on PDA for Mobile Users

The requesting a consultation of the farm manager is about the diagnosis and prevention of the breeding and extermination for diseases and insects in greenhouse, the managing problem for diseases and insects turn up a main issue. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a PDA based greenhouse, diseases and insects management system for mobile(GDIMS) uses as keeping up with ubiquitous time, which makes prediction and management for diseases and insects more efficiently checked at any time and anywhere you want to, and go well with the motto of ubiquitous. This system is using the environmental data from the greenhouse attached sensors provide the accurate diagnosis and recipes, which supports to product clean crops. There are no need to visit the greenhouse because our system is based on mobile devices that obtain the information in the greenhouse, which makes management in efficient with little number of people. This wort builds simply virtual greenhouse model that assembles system component of environmental sensor for performance analysis and offers a PDA view of the greenhouse status.
Wavelet Based Compression Technique for Efficient Image Transmission in the Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks

Advances in wireless communication and hardware technology have made it possible to manufacture high-performance tiny sensor nodes. More recently, the availability of inexpensive cameras modules that are able to capture multimedia data from the environment has fostered the development of Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks(WMSNs). WMSN supplements the a advanced technique that senses, transmits, and processes the multimedia contents upon the text based traditional wireless sensor network. Since the amount of data which the multimedia contents have, is significantly larger than that of text based data, multimedia contents require lots of computing power and high network bandwidth. To process the multimedia contents on the wireless sensor node which has very limited computing power and energy, a technique for WMSN should take account of computing resource and efficient transmission. In the paper, we propose a new image compression technique YWCE for efficient compression and transmission of image data in WMSN. YWCE introduces 4 type of technique for motion estimation and compensation based on the Resolution Scalability of Wavelet. Experimental result shows that YWCE has high compression performance with different set of 4 type.
Monitoring Sensor Robot System based on Wireless Sensor Network

This paper deals with monitoring sensor robot control system for the application of wireless sensor network. In order to control the direction and speed of robot via remote sensing environment, low power, low weight sensors with ad-hoc networking between robots' sensors have been used. These wireless sensor network based robot monitoring system can be used for remote observation and detection of robots in the areas such as factories, power plants and other dangerous areas which are difficult for human access.
Image Enhancement using Statistical Information of Pixel Dynamics

In this paper, we propose the novel approach to enhance the visual quality of the digital image with adaptively sharpening and removing the noise. Image enhancement is performed in two ways. The pixels in the high dynamics area are sharpened by the adaptive unsharp mask with the parameter, which is derived using the statistical information of the image. On the other hand, the proposed algorithm do not perform the sharpening process in the uniform area that may cause the undesired artifact due to noise amplification, rather it performs smoothing to suppress the noise in this area. The decision, which process will be applied at the pixel, is also controlled by the statistics of the pixel dynamics. The proposed algorithm enhances the visual quality almost automatically by sharpening and smoothing at the same time with less parameter selection.
The Ant Algorithm Considering the Worst Path in Traveling Salesman problems

Ant algorithm is new meta heuristic for hard combinatorial optimization problem. It is a population based approach that uses exploitation of positive feedback as well as greedy search. It was first proposed for tackling the well known Traveling Salesman Problem. In this paper, we propose the improved
algorithms. The original
algorithm accomplishes a pheromone updating about only the paths which will be composed of the optimal path is higher, but, the paths which will be composed the optimal path is lower does not considered. In this paper, The proposed method evaporate the pheromone of the paths which will be composed of the optimal path is lowest(worst tour path), it is reducing the probability of the edges selection during next search cycle. Simulation results of proposed method show lower average search time and average iteration than original ACS.
Pattern classification of the synchronized EEG records by an auditory stimulus for human-computer interface

In this paper, we present the method to effectively extract and classify the EEG caused by only brain activity when a normal subject is in a state of mental activity. We measure the synchronous EEG on the auditory event when a subject who is in a normal state thinks of a specific task, and then shift the baseline and reduce the effect of biological artifacts on the measured EEG. Finally we extract only the mental task signal by averaging method, and then perform the recognition of the extracted mental task signal by computing the AR coefficients. In the experiment, the auditory stimulus is used as an event and the EEG was recorded from the three channel
. After averaging 16 times for each channel output, we extracted the features of specific mental tasks by modeling the output as 12th order AR coefficients. We used total 36th order coefficient as an input parameter of the neural network and measured the training data 50 times per each task. With data not used for training, the rate of task recognition is 34-92 percent on the two tasks, and 38-54 percent on the four tasks.
Propositionalized Attribute Taxonomy Guided Naive Bayes Learning Algorithm

In this paper, we consider the problem of exploiting a taxonomy of propositionalized attributes in order to generate compact and robust classifiers. We introduce Propositionalized Attribute Taxonomy guided Naive Bayes Learner (PAT-NBL), an inductive learning algorithm that exploits a taxonomy of propositionalized attributes as prior knowledge to generate compact and accurate classifiers. PAT-NBL uses top-down and bottom-up search to find a locally optimal cut that corresponds to the instance space from propositionalized attribute taxonomy and data. Our experimental results on University of California-Irvine (UCI) repository data set, show that the proposed algorithm can generate a classifier that is sometimes comparably compact and accurate to those produced by standard Naive Bayes learners.
The Study on Position Control of Nonlinear System Using Wavelet Neural Network Controller

In this paper, applications of wavelet neural network controller to position control of nonlinear system are considered. Wavelet neural network is used in the objectives which improve the efficiency of LQR controllers. It is possible to make unstable nonlinear systems stable by using LQR(Linear Quadratic Regulator) technique. And, in order to be adapted to disturbance effectively in this system it uses wavelet neural network controller. Applying this method to the position control of nonlinear system, its usefulness is verified from the results of experiment.
