In this paper, scattering matrix for the open ended rectangular waveguide with infinite flange is derived. To validate the scattering matrix approach, load admittance
obtained from the present scattering matrix method is compared with the results of the previous work. The convergence for scattering matrix solution versus TE and TM mode numbers is investigated. Also far field power pattern radiated from the aperture of the waveguide is given.
Design and Performance Analysis of Wideband Six-port Phase correlator

The six-port correlator is comprised of a power divider and three hybrid couplers. In this paper, the six-port phase correlator using three-arm branch
hybrid coupler were designed with the center frequency of 11.85 GHz. The performances for the six-port phase correlator was analyzed by using ADS2003A tool. Three-arm six-port phase correlator provides more wide dynamic frequency range than that of six-port using the conventional hybrid coupler in range of circa five times, which is range of 10.8 to 12.3GHz (1.5 GHz). The phase errors among the output ports of the six-port phase correlator are below
. The six-port Phase correlator was fabricated to evaluate the Performance of the proposed six-port phase correlator. The measured performance of the six-port phase correlator shows the good accordance with the simulation data.
Development of 433MHz RFID Tag Antenna using Fractal Theory

In this paper, we present RFID Tag Antenna at 433MHz which can be available for RFID system. The antenna is composed of microstrip type antenna, whose dimension could be reduced by applying fractal theory. Simulated return loss and gain at 433MHz are -20.9dB, -3dBi. But there are some deviation on the point of resonance frequency between simulated and measured results. By modifying the antenna's feeding point, we obtain - l5dB return loss and verify the utility of proposed antenna.
High-Performance Bidirectional Active Phased-Array Antenna Coupled by Transmission Line

In order to increase the coupling efficiency of the power and phase of the active phase array antenna, we have fabricated the active phased-array antenna which is coupled by the transmission line, and investigated the relationship between the length of the coupling transmission line and coupling power and phase. The following three types of driving method - (1) giving the frequency difference between the two active antenna, (2) applying the input signal to the one side of the two antennas, and changing the eigen frequency of the other side antenna, (3) appling the different phase inputs to the active antennas was investigated. The experimental results showed that the interval of the antenna elements has not affected the power and the phase of the antenna.
Character's facial expression realization program with emotional state dimensions

In this study, we propose a automatic facial expression generation tool which can generate various facial expressions efficiently for animation characters expressing various emotion. For this purpose, 9 types of facial expressions were defined by adopting Russell's pleasure-displeasure and arousal-sleep coordinate values of infernal states. And by rendering specific coordinate values consisted of the two basic dimensions of emotion(i.e., dimensions of pleasure-displeasure and arousal-sleep) and their combination, the proposed automatic facial expression generation tool could yield various facial expressions which reflected subtle changes in characters' emotion. It is expected that the tool could provide useful method of generating character face with various emotion.
DRM System using GStreamer based on DMP

Due to illegal copying and distribution via the internet, the digital media that have been introduced create certain intellectual property issues. Because of this, several intellectual property groups have been created to create and maintain Digital Rights Management systems (DRM), in order to crack down on illegal and unauthorized copying. However, these systems are often created by many different companies, which leads to problems of interoperability. In this paper, we designed and implemented a DRM system with streamer, following the DMP.
A method for automatic EPC code conversion based on ontology methodology

ALE-complient RFID middleware system receives EPC code data from reader devices and converts the data into URN format data internally. After filtering and grouping, the system sends the resulting URN code to application and(or) users. Meanwhile, not only the types of EPC code are very diverse, but also another new kinds of EPC code can be emerged in the future. Therefore, a method to process all kinds of EPC code effectively is required by RFID middleware. In this paper, a method to process various kinds of EPC code acquired from RFID reader devices in ALE-complient RFID middleware is proposed. Especially, we propose an approach using ontology technology to process not only existing EPC code but also newly defined code in the future. That is, we build an ontology of conversion rules for each EPC data type to effectively convert EPC data into URL format data. In this case, we can easily extend RFID middleware to process a new EPC code data by adding a conversion rule ontology for the code.
A method of mobile RFID code processing for ALE middleware

RFID technology is one of the core technologies for ubiquitous computing, and many research activities have been going on in this research area currently. Related with these researches, mobile RFID network services using mobile devices having a built-in RFID reader and mobile networks have been launched in Korea, for the first time in the world. In this paper, we propose a method to coulect ALE middleware suggested by EPCglobal and existing mobile RFID network services. Especially, a RFID code conversion method is proposed to process mobile RFID code systems within ALE middleware systems. Using the proposed method, application developers and(or) content business industries can acquire the information they want, which is filtered and refined in real-time or periodically, from mobile RFID users. So, they can Provide customized services to users by using the user preference information. In this war, the ALE middleware system can be easily extended to process mobile RFID code effectively.
Power Dissipation Considered AODV for Fair Energy Distribution in MANET

The standard routing protocol of MANET(Mobile Ad-hoc NETwork), AODV(Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector), only considers the shortest path for routing, which may cause traffic concentration to a node at the critical path. Hence, the battery of the node will be dissipated rapidly to reduce the lifetime of the whole network. In this paper, power dissipation considered AODV is proposed for fair energy distribution in MANET, and verified using the computer simulation.
Design of MBB System for provide Mobility continuity in Environment IPSec

When a mobile node moves, MIPv6 operates an authentication process for the new connection. These kinds of frequent binding update and authentication processes cause much traffic and delay the service. To solve this problem, PMIPv6 provides a network-based mobility protocol in order to lessen the load on a mobile node. However, when it is moved from a domain to a domain or in a domain, there still lies a need fDr a new address, so MIPv6's demerit still exists. In IPsec, too, a new negotiation should be made when it is moved to WAN(Wide Area Network). This causes load to the mobile node. In this paper suggests MBB(Make Before Break) system to eliminate disconnections or delays resulted from the address change or renegotiation for security. When the mobile node receives a CoA address, IPsec negotiation gets operated. Its identity is authenticated by sending the identifier used for the prior negotiation to CN(Correspondent Node) through the BID message suggested. After that, negotiation Bets simplified that disconnections can be eliminated, and in the IPsec negotiation, the load on the mobile node can be lessened as well; moreover, two addresses are used for the communication simultaneously, so the probability of packet loss can be reduced.
Security APIs for Security Services in Ultra Light-weight Environment

Computers used fer light-weight computing environments are considerably limited in resources and performance running in ubiquitous environment. Because of the limited resources, it is difficult to apply existing security technologies to the light-weight computers. In this paper, light-weight security software is implemented using RC-5 encryption and SHA-1 authentication algorithm which is appropriate for light-weight computing environments. The design of components based on security software of a light-weight computer application and the test-bed for security software are presented. The simulation verifies the correctness of the security software. The architecture of the light-weight and reconfigurable security software for light-weight computer applications is proposed. The proposed security software is small size and provides reconfigurable security library based on the light-weight component and the software manager that configures software platform is loaded with the library at the time it is needed.
Characterization of Hierarchical Cellular Automata

Cellular Automata(CA) has been used as modeling and computing paradigm for a long time. And CA has been used to model many physical systems. While studying the models of such systems, it is seen that as the complexity of the physical system increase, the CA based model becomes very complex and becomes to difficult to track analytically. Also such models fail to recognize the presence of inherent hierarchical nature of a physical system. In this paper we give the characterization of Hierarchical Cellular Automata(HCA). Especially we analyze transition rules, characteristic polynomials and cyclic structures of HCA.
Implementation and Design of WISD(Web Interface System based DICOM) for Efficient Sharing of Medical Information between Clinics

For efficient compatible system between medical clinics, the medical information has to be built on a standardized protocol such as a HL7 for text data and a DICOM for image data. But it is difficult to exchange information between medical clinics because the systems and softwares are different and also a structure of data and a type of code. Therefore we analyze a structure of DICOM file and design an integrated database for effective information sharing and exchange. The WISD system suggested in this paper separate the DICOM file transmitted by medical clinics to text data and image data and store it in the integrated DB(database) by standardized protocol respectively. It is very efficient that each medical clinic can search and exchange information by web browser using the suggested system. The WISD system can not only search and control of image data and patient information through integrated database and internet, but share medical information without extra charge like construction of new system.
An Efficient Management and Sliding Window Query for Real-Time Stream Data to Require frequent Update

Recently, the operator modules to control external devices are concerned about automatic management system to process continuously changed signals. These signals are the stream data of which characteristics are several numbers. a short report interval and asynchronous report time. It is necessary that the system brings about high accuracy and real time process for stream data. The typical queries of these systems consist of the current query to search the latest signal value, the snapshot query at a past time, the sliding window query from a past time to current. In this paper, we propose the efficient method to manage the above signals by using a file structured database in small-size operating systems. We also propose a query model to accommodate various queries including the sliding window query. The file database in the QNX adopts a delta version and a shared memory buffering method for the resource limit of a small storage and a low computing power.

A one-chip DC-DC converter circuit for OLED(Organic Light-Emitting Diode) display module of automotive clusters is newly proposed. OLED panel driving voltage circuit, which is a charge-pump type, has improved characteristics in miniaturization, low cost and EMI(Electro-Magnetic Interference) compared with DC-DC converter of PWM(Pulse Width Modulator) type. By using bulk-potential biasing circuit, charge loss due to parasitic PNP BJT formed in charge pumping, is prevented. In addition, the current dissipation in start-up circuit of band-gap reference voltage generator is reduced by 42% and the layout area of ring oscillator is reduced by using a logic voltage VLP in ring oscillator circuit using VDD supply voltage. A Study on Architecture of Motion Compensator for H.264/AVC Encoder

Motion compensation always produces the principal bottleneck in the real-time high quality video applications. Therefore, a fast dedicated hardware is needed to perform motion compensation in the real-time video applications. In many video encoding methods, the frames are partitioned into blocks of Pixels. In general, motion compensation predicts present block by estimating the motion from previous frame. In motion compensation, the higher pixel accuracy shows the better performance but the computing complexity is increased. In this paper, we studied an architecture of motion compensator suitable for H.264/AVC encoder that supports quarter-pixel accuracy. The designed motion compensator increases the throughput using transpose array and 3 6-tap Luma filters and efficiently reduces the memory access. The motion compensator is described in VHDL and synthesized in Xilinx ISE and verified using Modelsim_6.1i. Our motion compensator uses 36-tap filters only and performs in 640 clock-cycle per macro block. The motion compensator proposed in this paper is suitable to the areas that require the real-time video processing.
Adaptive Learning Circuit For Applying Neural Network

The adaptive learning circuit is designed on the basis of modeling of MFSFET (Metal-Ferroelectric-Semiconductor FET) and the numerical results is analyzed. The output frequency of the adaptive learning circuit is inversely proportional to the source-drain resistance of MFSFET and the capacitance of the circuit. The saturated drain current with input pulse number is analogous to the ferroelectric polarization reversal. It indicates that the ferroelectric polarization plays an important role in the drain current control of MFSFET. The output frequency modulation of the adaptive learning circuit is investigated by analyzing the source-drain resistance of MFSFET as functions of input pulse numbers in the adaptive learning circuit and the dimensionality factor of the ferroelectric thin film. From the results, adaptive learning characteristics which means a gradual frequency change of output pulse with the progress of input pulse, are confirmed. Consequently it is shown that our circuit can be used effectively in the neuron synapses of neural networks.
Parameter dependent conduction path for nano structure double gate MOSFET

In this paper, conduction phenomena have been considered for nano structure double gate MOSFET, using the analytical model. The Possion equation is used to analytical model. The conduction mechanisms to have an influence on current conduction are thermionic emission and tunneling current, and subthreshold swings of this paper are compared with those of two dimensional simulation to verify this model. The deviation of current path and the influence of current path on subthreshold swing have been considered according to the dimensional parameters of double gate MOSFET, i.e. gate length, gate oxide thickness, channel thickness. The optimum channel doping concentration is determined as the deviation of conduction path is considered according doping concentration.
Design of Floating-Point Multiplier for Mobile Graphics Application

In this paper, two-stage pipelined floating-point multiplier (FP-MUL) is designed. The FP-MUL processor supports single precision multiplication for 3D graphic APIs, such as OpenGL and Direct3D and has area-efficient and low-latency architecture via saturated arithmetic, area-efficient sticky-bit generator, and flagged prefix adder. The FP-MUL has about 4-ns delay time under
CMOS standard cell library and consists of about 7,500 gates. Because its maximum performance is about 250 MFLOPS, it can be applicable to mobile 3D graphics application.
Gated Clock-based Low-Power Technique based on RTL Synthesis

In this paper we proposed a practical low-power design technique using clock-gating in RTL. An efficient low-power methodology is that a high-level designer analyzes a generic system and designs a controller for clock-gating. Also the desirable flow is to derive clock-gating in normal synthesis process by synthesis tool than to insert directly gate to clock line. If low-power is considered in coding process, clock is gated in coding process. If not considered, after analyzing entire operation. clock is Bated in periods of holding data. After analyzing operation for clock-gating, a controller was designed for it, and then a low-power circuit was generated by synthesis tool. From result, we identified that the consumed power of register decreased from 922mW to 543mW, that is the decrease rate is 42%. In case of synthesizing the test circuit using synthesizer of Power Theater, it decreased from 322mW to 208mW (36.5% decrease).

multimode planar waveguide provides the pass of optical signals and changes the output speckle patterns by applying an electrical signal. The complex speckle patterns generated from the multimode planar waveguide are recorded into the N hologram filters and used as the code for destination. The feasibility of our method is experimentally demonstrated.

A Study on Relay Server Topology inside NAT for Pure P2P

Lately, the use of the NAT has become unavoidable with the increase of P2P traffic along with the exhaustion of IPv4 IP address. Due to NAT properties, NAT's internal host can only be connected through a relay method using the outside server. Accordingly, there is a lot of resource exhaustion of the relay server on the NAT exterior and network traffic increases. This essay proposes a topology that can form sessions to the NAT interior from the NAT exterior and that will decrease network traffic by placing NAT exterior relay servers in the NAT interior.
A Development of Simulator for Autonomous Navigation System of UUV

The goal of a simulator is to provide for the testing of new technologies and to facilitate the eventual transfer of these technologies to the applications. In the Development Step, Simulation can provide a cost effective alternative to expensive and hazardous field testing. In this paper, a 3D simulator is developed to test UUV navigation system bated on RVC model. The simulation system consists of a environment manager, objects and a 3D viewer. Objects are modeling all physical elements such as map, obstacle and UUV which reside in a underwater environment. Those objects are created and initialized by environment manager. The environment manager plays the role of intermediator which allows created objects to interact with each other, and transmits information on the objects to 3D viewer. The 3D viewer analyzes the received information and visualizes 3D graphic by using OpenGL primitives.
Adaptive TMS Variable Area Flow Meters

A new adaptive TMS variable area flow meter that is used to the environment measuring equipment is proposed. This system is consist of a ball moving within the tube line which corresponds to gas flow and photo sensor array which monitoring the movement of ball. This system can monitoring the position of bali in case of the very few gas flow in various levels. And it can automatically adjust the gas flow at the highest and the lowest level to prevent the tube line blockage.
A Study of the Teaching-learning Model of the Combination Training of Mathematics-information Gifted Students
