Since the demand for radio wave due to proliferation of radio wave communication is increased rapidly, policy for efficient use of radio wave is a challenge of sustainable research for technology development in this field with focus on service supply and distribution. Therefore, this paper analyzed and reviewed radio wave related international agreements and overseas institutions and policies, and proposed the improvement method for systematic and efficient countermeasure on radio wave management policy and system according to radio wave promotion policy circumstance changes, radio wave environmental change and technology development.

Frequency Domain Characteristics of the Metamaterial Slab Using 2D-FDTD

In this paper, the scattering parameters of the metamaterial slab are obtained using the 2D FDTD(Finite-Difference Time-Domain) method. FDTD method is one of strongest electromagnetic numerical method which is widely used to analyze the metamaterial structure because of its simplicity. But it is very difficult to obtain frequency response of metamaterial itself because frequency dispersive model such as Lorentz, Drude model are used in FDTD. We used the well-known m-n-m cycle sine pulse to obtain the frequency response of the metamaterials. Comparisons between the wideband Gaussian input pulse and band-limited m-n-m cycle sine pulse are performed in this paper also. From the results, we concluded that the scattering parameters in frequency domain can be obtained using specific input pulse in FDTD even if the response has valid only for limited bandwidth.
A Study on Clutter Cancellation in a Weather Radar System Using a Phased Array Antenna

Since there are very strong clutter returns in airborne and ground weather radars used for the detection of low altitude weather hazards, the reliable weather data cannot be extracted from the weak Doppler weather signal without cancellation of these strong clutter returns. However, the clutter cancellation in Doppler frequency domain is not an easy task since even the fixed clutter returns not to mention the moving clutter can have Doppler shifts due to the antenna rotation and operational environment. Therefore, it was shown in this paper a simple array antenna system can be used for the efficient clutter cancellation in the spatial domain. The weather signal, various moving and fixed clutters were modelled and simulated to prove the performance of this adaptive array system. Also, the degree of accuracy in pulse-pair estimates of a weather radar was compared and analyzed from the simulated weather data.
Phase Noise Spectrum of LNB for PSK Multi-mode satellite transmission signal

The LNB phase noise of user terminal for high data rate satellite transmission was analyzed in this paper. The phase noise severely affects the service performance in low data rate transmission as well as multi-mode signal for high data rate. As the satellite link frequency is increased, the effects of phase noise for multi-mode signal is increased. The phase noise of LNB, which is operated in high frequency band, is about equal to the transmission system phase noise and have an major effects on service performance degradation. The available transmission mode was analyzed in presence of phase noise of LNB and analysis method for LNB phase noise spectrum distribution was proposed in multi-mode signal.

Character Motion Generation and Control with Hierarchical Parametric Functions

In this paper, we propose a automated techniques for generating the gait animation of humanoid character model required in game applications. The proposed method can generate motion data of various styles with intuitive manipulation, and techniques for editing motion data are also proposed. In addition, we introduce an automated tool for gait animation of character model developed with the proposed method to verify the effectiveness of our method. The proposed method tan be successfully employed in motion authoring tools. In this paper, only the gait animation was considered. However, the proposed method can be applied to various motions and can be utilized as a motion engine that automatically generates proper motion according to the state of the character. The motion engine can express various behavior of the character without requiring motion data base which is usually employed in 3D online games.
Multiple Sensor Fusion Algorithm for the Altitude Estimation of Deep-Sea UUV, HEMIRE

This paper represents the multiple sensor fusion algorithm for the deep-sea unmanned underwater vehicles (UUV), composed of a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) 'Hemire' and a depressor 'Henuvy'. The performance of underwater positioning system usually highly depend on that of acoustic sensors such as ultra short base line(USBL), long base line(LBL) and altimeter. A practical sensor fusion algorithm is proposed in the sense of a moving window concept. The performance of the proposed algorithm can be observed by applying the algorithm to the Hemire sea trial data which was measured at the East Sea.
Design of Bit-Parallel Multiplier over Finite Field

In this paper, we present a new bit-parallel multiplier for performing the bit-parallel multiplication of two polynomials in the finite fields

Prior to construct the multiplier circuits, we consist of the vector code generator(VCG) to generate the result of bit-parallel multiplication with one coefficient of a multiplicative polynomial after performing the parallel multiplication of a multiplicand polynomial with a irreducible polynomial. The basic cells of VCG have two AND gates and two XOR gates. Using these VCG, we can obtain the multiplication results performing the bit-parallel multiplication of two polynomials. Extending this process, we show the design of the generalized circuits for degree m and a simple example of constructing the multiplier circuit over finite fields
. Also, the presented multiplier is simulated by PSpice. The multiplier presented in this paper use the VCGs with the basic cells repeatedly, and is easy to extend the multiplication of two polynomials in the finite fields with very large degree m, and is suitable to VLSI.

integer division. The algorithm suggested in this paper doesn't require additional revision, because it can calculate correct reciprocal number. In addition, this algorithm uses only multiplier, so additional hardware for division is not required to implement microprocessor. Also, it shows faster speed than the conventional SRT algorithm and performs operation by word unit, accordingly it is more suitable to make compiler than the existing division algorithm. In conclusion, results from this study could be used widely for implementation SOC(System on Chip) and etc. which has been restricted to microprocessor and size of the hardware.

In this paper is designed a 256-bit synchronous OTP(one-time programmable) memory required in application fields such as automobile appliance power ICs, display ICs, and CMOS image sensors. A 256-bit synchronous memory cell consists of NMOS capacitor as antifuse and access transistor without a high-voltage blocking transistor. A gate bias voltage circuit for the additional blocking transistor is removed since logic supply voltage VDD(=1.5V) and external program voltage VPPE(=5.5V) are used instead of conventional three supply voltages. And loading current of cell to be programmed increases according to RON(on resistance) of the antifuse and process variation in case of the voltage driving without current constraint in programming. Therefore, there is a problem that program voltage can be increased relatively due to resistive voltage drop on supply voltage VPP. And so loading current can be made to flow constantly by using the current driving method instead of the voltage driving counterpart in programming. Therefore, program voltage VPP can be lowered from 5.9V to 5.5V when measurement is done on the manufactured wafer. The System Of Microarray Data Classification Using Significant Gene Combination Method based on Neural Network.

As development in technology of bioinformatics recently mates it possible to operate micro-level experiments, we can observe the expression pattern of total genome through on chip and analyze the interactions of thousands of genes at the same time. In this thesis, we used CDNA microarrays of 3840 genes obtained from neuronal differentiation experiment of cortical stem cells on white mouse with cancer. It analyzed and compared performance of each of the experiment result using existing DT, NB, SVM and multi-perceptron neural network classifier combined the similar scale combination method after constructing class classification model by extracting significant gene list with a similar scale combination method proposed in this paper through normalization. Result classifying in Multi-Perceptron neural network classifier for selected 200 genes using combination of PC(Pearson correlation coefficient) and ED(Euclidean distance coefficient) represented the accuracy of 98.84%, which show that it improve classification performance than case to experiment using other classifier.
Investigation of Pump Wavelength Dependence of Long-Wavelength-Band Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier using 1530nm-Band Pump

1530nm band has been studied as pump wavelength for long-wavelength-band erbium-doped fiber amplifier (L-band EDFA). The pump source is built using a tunable light source and cascaded conventional-band (C-band) EDFA. The L-band EDFA uses a forward pumping scheme. Within the 1530nm band, 1545nm pump demonstrates 0.45dB/mW gain coefficient, which is twice better than that of conventional 1480nm pumped EDFA. The noise figure of 1530nm pump is at worst 6.36dB, which is 0.75dB higher than that of 1480nm pumped EDFA. Such high gain coefficient indicates that the L-band EDFA consumes low power.
HMT (Handover Map Table) based Handover Algorithm in DVB-H Networks

In mobile broadcasting networks, handover is an important issue to support seamless mobility. DVB-H(Digital Video Broadcasting for Handheld) standard was developed to enhance mobile features for DVB-T(Digital Video Broadcasting -Terrestrial) standard. This paper proposes new approaches for improving handover performance in the DVB-H networks. The proposed handover schemes are targeted to two different DVB-H receivers: One is for the receivers equipped with GPS devices. The other is for ones without GPS support. The first handover approach modifies the cell description table (CDT) proposed in the literature . The second proposes a novel estimation technique of predefined handover region based on a new handover map table (HMT). This new handover approach estimates a predefined handover region with the measured RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indication) signal patterns. Using proposed handover algorithm, we can reduce time and power consumption. Through the computer simulations, we evaluate the performance of handover algorithm.
A Study on the Development of RSS Reader Module Based on Ajax for Web 2.0

Recently, it is increasing the interest in previous web and web 2.0 which mean differentiation. The previous system is typical Static web based on client and server model, while web 2.0 mean next generation web which web change and evolve fundamentally. In this paper, I suggest that the module on RSS reader available under web 2.0 standards. A currently used RSS feed do correct the part distortion which ran be possible resolve the encoding problem of Hanguel and third-world language. The suggested module is implemented using Ajax. I developed the module for the use of effective contents on web 2.0 through the DragBox module based on the programming on mobility of Ajax and the design and implementation of automatic update module of RSS feed.
Beamformer-based Acquisition in CDMA-MIMO Communication Systems

This paper proposes the code acquisition scheme on a MIMO channel for preamble search in a CDMA-MIMO uplink system. The multiple transmit/receive antennas are used for beamforming. The performance of a ML code acquisition technique based on transmit and receive beamforming is analyzed by considering rho detection probability. The acquisition performance and MAT for a MIMO code acquisition system are numerically evaluated. It is shown that multiple transmit antennas can give the code acquisition system a transmit beamforming gain and result in much better performance than a SIMO case.
Recognition Performance Enhancement by License Plate Normalization

This paper proposes a preprocessing method and a neural network based character recognizer to enhance the overall performance of the license plate recognition system. First, plate outlines are extracted by virtual line matching, and then the 4 vertexes are obtained by calculating intersecting points of extracted lines. By these vertexes, plate image is reconstructed as rectangle-shaped image by bilinear transform. Finally, the license plate is recognized by the neural network based classifier which had been trained using delta-bar-delta algorithm. Various license plate images were used in the experiments, and the proposed plate normalization enhanced the recognition performance up to 16 percent.

In this paper, we propose a intelligent system to improve the accuracy of pattern recognition. The proposed intelligent system consist in SOFM, LVQ and FCM algorithm. We are confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed intelligent system through the several experiments that classify Fisher's Iris data and face image data that offered by ORL of Cambridge Univ. and EMG data. As the results of experiments, the proposed intelligent system has better accuracy of pattern recognition than general LVQ.
A Study on Development of UHF RFID R/W Using AT91SAM7S256

In this paper, we developed UHF RFID R/W system using AT91SAM7S256(ARM chip), UHF RFID R/W module (WJ7090) and wireless LAN(IEEE 802.11.a/b). And we developed a transmission/receiving packet which is send to UHF R/W module in AT91SAM7S256. In order to show the usefulness of UHF RFID R/W system, we executed a performance test. The developed UHF RFID R/W system shows better performance for reading of RFID tag and data transmission through wireless LAN.
Neighbor Knowledge Exchange Reduction using Broadcast Packet in Wireless Ad hoc Networks

Neighbor knowledge in wireless ad hoc networks provides important functionality for a number of protocols. The neighbor knowledge is acquired via Hello packets. Hello packets are periodically broadcasted by the nodes which want to advertise their existence. Usage of periodic Hello packet, however, is a big burden on the wireless ad hoc networks. This paper deals with an approach where each node acquires neighbor knowledge by observing not only Hello packets but also broadcasting packets. Analysis and computer simulation results show that the method using broadcast packets offers significant improvement over the method using Hello packet only. When the required hello packet transmission interval and the average broadcasting interval are equal, the overhead reduction is about 42%.
Design and Implementation of the Gateway Node for the Localization of the Mobile Object in Wireless Sensor Network

Recently, LBS(Location Based Service) which provides useful service based on the location of objects or human has drawn the attention of the research community. To provide LBS, many researchers have proposed many localization systems such as Cricket or Ubisense, however, these systems have the limit that it is very hard to perform the complicated computation on these systems because these systems consist of sensor nodes which have very limited computing power. In the paper, we propose a new localization system with the gateway node which has very high computing power and resource which is suitable for the complicated computation needed for localization.

Implementation and Design of XML-Based Management System for Instructional Software

The project of Education information is promoted to maximize the efficiency of Teaching-Learning at schools. So Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development develops and spreads the Computer Assisted Instruction(CAI) and outstanding Educational Software to help learners who can utilize this software and make learning environment to form their own recognition. As the number of this software is increased, the necessity of management of Educational Software is required. This study divides Educational Software into three kinds, teaching-learning software, business management software, and system management software, and suggests how to use these softwares effectively according to this division. After the users log into the system through joining members, they are divided into manager module, teachers module, and students module. The manager manages all software like registration, revision, reference of date and so on. The teacher accesses properly. The student accesses teaching-learning software and prepares and reviews his lessons at any time.
