A Study on the Multiple Resonance Characteristics of Crossed Planar Monopole Antenna by L-Shaped Slit

In this paper, a novel wideband crossed planar monopole antenna with the multiple resonance characteristics is proposed. The proposed monopole antenna can be designed by a wideband crossed planar monopole antenna with L-shaped slits. In order to generate multiple resonance characteristics on the proposed monopole antenna, the length of L-shaped slit and the number of L-shaped slits are determined at an interesting frequency. The proposed antenna having an omnidirectional radiation pattern and a high gain over the multiple resonance frequency bands, respectively, is suitable for a mobile antenna.
Design of V/UHF band Small Dipole Circular Array Active Antenna

For the application to the direction finding(DF) antenna for V/UHF bands, circular active array composed of 9 dipole element has been investigate. For miniaturization of the overall size array, the element has been chosen to be of the top-hat dipole type. For the broadband operation over 20-1300MHz, some number of pin diodes have been inserted in each arms of each dipole element. By employing this type of each element dipole, the effective dipole length can be increased or decreased according as the inserted pin diodes is on or off. The active array antenna has been design to be directly connected to the balanced push full amplifier such that the amplifier may play a role as a balloon and may improve the sensitivity as a receiver as well. The active array antenna has been designed and fabricated. Some experimental results have been presented in comparison with simulated results.
A Method of Improving Isolation Between Tx and Rx Paths in TDD Systems

A switch or circulator is used for distinguishing between the paths of transmitter and receiver in TDD systems. If the isolation between Tx and Rx paths is low in TDD systems, the output signal of the ransmitter acts as an interferer to the receiver even if the transceiver operates on the receiver mode. In this paper we propose a method to get high isolation characteristics between transmitting and receiving paths in TDD systems. We implement the module with a proposed improving method to verify the effect of the isolation improvement and the experimental results are presented. The isolation improvement of above 44.8 dB over the frequency bandwidth of 30 MHz is obtained from the implemented isolation improvement module.
Fabrication of Six-port Phase Correlator using Multi-section Power Divider and Coupler

hybrid coupler with 15 % bandwidth was designed at the center frequency of 2.5 GHz. The simulation result by ADS2003A indicates that RF port and LO port of proposed six-port phase correlator got wide frequency bandwidth of 14 % for VSWR of 1.5. In this paper, we proposed auto exposure(AE) algorithm and hardware implementation for apply to mobile phone camera. AE is a function that control camera exposure automatically for appropriate to object. Existing AE is using micro controller unit and there are some problems about high expense and slow processing speed. For improve these problems, we proposed AE algorithm for hardware implementation without micro controller unit therefor we can expect improvement about the content of a production and operation speed. We proposed the algorithm that is considered efficiency of hardware resource and the results of hardware implementation of proposed AE algorithm apply to mobile phone camera sensor, we verified proposed AE function.
A Framework for Constructing Interactive Tiled Display Applications

This paper describes a new tiled display framework called, iTDF (Interactive Tiled Display Framework), that is designed to support rapid construction of the interactive digital 3D contents running on top of the cluster-based tiled display. This framework allows synchronizing the rendering slaves, sharing software's state over the network, the features, such as, launching multiple applications on a cluster-based computers, moving and resizing windows, synchronization of rendering slaves, distributed shared memory, and unified input interface. This paper analyzes the requirements of the framework and describes the design and implementation of the framework. A couple desktop-based applications are ported with the new iTDF and to find out the usefulness and usability of the framework.
Conditional Access Authentication and Management System for IPTV Service

Currently broadcasting and telecommunication has integrated, And IPTV Service has appeared who called TPS(Triple Play Service) which integrated with broadcasting, telecommunication and Phone Service. IPTV provide broadcasting service and VOD(Video on Demand) service, and it must be satisfied digital content security. For this condition, IPTV Forum working on standardization of interface for digital content security. The Security solution for broadcasting and VOD are CAS (Conditional Access System) and DRM(Digital Rights Management). But these solutions manufactured by many vendors, so there is no inter-operability. And after finished standardization of interface for CAS and DRM system, the problem of inter-operability with them will be issued. For this reason, Rights management system which possible to operate independently with platform is necessary. In this paper, To protect multimedia digital content, we designed and implemented Conditional Access Management System.
A Distributed Bandwidth-Interference aware CDS (BI CDS) Construction Scheme in Wireless Mesh Network

As a special type of Wireless Ad Hoc Networks, Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) have become the comer stone of research issues. Due to the limited operational environment of WMNs, an efficient connected dominating set (CDS) construction scheme is an important concern since it has been found extremely useful in broadcasting, routing and virtual backbone construction. In this paper, we propose a distributed Bandwidth-Interference aware CDS construction scheme to improve the network performance via two parameters such as node's number of neighbor and link bandwidth. Our CDS construction scheme selects the node that has more neighbors and enough bandwidth to support more end-devices in order to enhance overall network throughput and reliability. We confirm through simulations and show that our scheme constructs the CDS with the small subset of DS and the link that has better bandwidth.
A Study on Improving Performance of the Network Transport by Interworking Different Protocols

A service network in the future ubiquitous environment can consist of a variety of elements, which include different protocols of the network transport. Interwoking different transport protocols can alleviate such problems occurred in accessing network as poverty of facilities, faults, and contention in a path of particular protocol communication. This paper schemes to improve performance of the network constituted of different protocols for the network transport. Interposing an interwork element, like SDR (Software Defined Radio), in the network can raise availability of transport paths, and then improve transport performance of the overall network Simulation analysis justifies such a scheme and this paper presents simulation results.
Implement of Call blocking Probabilities in Mobile Communication Networks

This paper presents a method of improving the service availability by distributing the traffic of voice/data calls over the multi-layer cells in a mobile communication network. The traffic model is described and the call handling performance is analyzed. In our method, a fast moving call is moved to and serviced in the upper layer cell. A call is also moved upward when an overflow occurs. But unlike other methods, the call that is moved upward in the overflow case is the one which has the longest sojourn time in the cell. Moreover, when the call that was moved upward due to overflow condition stays longer than a certain period of time in the upper layer cell, the system moves the call back to the lower layer in order to save the more expensive resources of the upper layer cell. Call handling performance of this method evaluated from M/M/C/K models shows clear improvement with respect to call blocking probability and forced termination probability.
Design of an Optimized 32-bit Multiplier for RSA Cryptoprocessors

RSA cryptoprocessors equipped with more than 1024 bits of key space handle the entire key stream in units of blocks. The RSA processor which will be the target design in this paper defines the length of the basic word as 128 bits, and uses an 256-bits register as the accumulator. For efficient execution of 128-bit multiplication, 32b*32b multiplier was designed and adopted and the results are stored in 8 separate 128-bit registers according to the status flag. In this paper, a fast 32bit modular multiplier which is required to execute 128-bit MAC (multiplication and accumulation) operation is proposed. The proposed architecture prototype of the multiplier unit was automatically synthesized, and successfully operated at the frequency in the target RSA processor.
The Password base System for the safe and Efficient Identification

Almost all network systems provide an authentication mechanism based on user ID and password. In such system, it is easy to obtain the user password using a sniffer program with illegal eavesdropping. The one-time password and challenge-response method are useful authentication schemes that protect the user passwords against eavesdropping. In client/server environments, the one-time password scheme using time is especially useful because it solves the synchronization problem. In this paper, we propose a new identification scheme One Pass Identification. The security of Password base System is based on the square root problem, and Password base System is secure against the well known attacks including pre-play attack, off-line dictionary attack and server comprise. A number of pass of Password base System is one, and Password base System processes the password and does not need the key. We think that Password base System is excellent for the consuming time to verify the prover.
A Secure Intrusion Detection System for Mobile Ad Hoc Network

The intrusion detection system is one of the active fields of research in wireless networks. Intrusion detection in wireless mobile Ad hoc network is challenging because the network topologies are dynamic, lack centralization and are vulnerable to attacks. Detection of malicious nodes in an open ad-hoc network in which participating nodes do not have previous security association has to face number of challenges which is described in this paper. This paper is about determining the malicious nodes under critical conditions in the mobile ad-hoc network and deals with security and vulnerabilities issues which results in the better performance and detection of the intrusion.
Improving the CGA-based HMIPv6 Security Protocol

In 2006, Haddad, Krishnan and Soliman proposed a Cryptographically Generated Address based protocol as a standard for protecting HMIPv6. Though this protocol can provide both the strong message authentication and binding update key negotiation based on the public-key cryptography, it is still vulnerable to several attacks such as denial of service attacks and redirection attacks. This paper improves the problems caused by the protocol. The improved protocol is analyzed in terms of security and performance, and then is shown to be better than the previous one considering the two factors together.
A Web-document Recommending System using the Korean Thesaurus

We build the web document recommending agent system which offers a certain amount of web documents to each user by monitoring and learning the user's action of web browsing. We also propose a method of query expansion using the Korean thesaurus. The queries to search for new web documents generate a candidate set using the Korean thesaurus. We extract the words which are mostly correlated with the queries, among the words in the candidate set, by using TF-IDF and mutual information. Then, we expand the query. If we adopt the system of query expansion, we can recommend a lot of web documents which have potential interests to users. We thus conclude that the system of query expansion is more effective than a base system of recommending web-documents to users.

Analysis of 3D reconstructed images based on signal model of plane-based computational integral imaging reconstruction technique

Plane-based computational integral imaging (CIIR) provides the reconstruction of depth-dependent 3D plane images. However, it has problem degrading the resolution of reconstructed images due to the artifact noise according to the depth. In this paper, to overcome this problem, a signal model for plane-based CIIR is explain. Also the compensation process is introduced to remove the noise caused from CIIR. Computational experiments show that we analyze the characteristics of noise in the reconstructed image of 2D Gaussian image and the high-resolution images can be obtained by using the compensation process.
The Future Paradigm of VoIP Services

It has been 10 years long since the emergence of Dialpad, the first commercial VoIP service from Saerome Technology launched on 1999. In spite of so many research papers and implementations of the VoIP and commercial services with hundreds of VoIP-related products vendors and tens of VoIP service providers during the last decade, the resulting market share of the VoIP callings at the year 2007 in Korea is just about 0.3%, which is extraordinary lower one than expected. There have been proposed several facts for the reason including the QoS issue and the incomplete governing system. In this paper we suggest that the reason is based on the sociocultural issue and further we assert and verify that it can never replace the existing legacy telephone system for the current VoIP service model, as long as the telecommunication companies continue the legacy telephone service. We also suggest the another choice, to upgrade the concept of the current VoIP service to a new paradigm based on SIP and presence service, while letting the legacy telephone system be as it is.

The Ubiquitous/Unified Communication Platform supports various multimedia communication tools such as VoIP, Email, Unified Messaging, Instant Messaging, Web Conferencing, Audio/Video Communication etc. In this paper we introduced the main functions and architecture of the Unified Communication Platform and we researched on the function analysis and design of the VoIP System that supports PC-to-PBX/PSTN Phone and PBX/PSTN Phone-to-PC communications through the connectivity and interoperation with PSTN.
A study on uplink QoS packet scheduler for VoIP service in IEEE 802.16 systems

IEEE 802.16e standard, a kind of WMAN standard, was established to support data services with cheaper cost to mobile users than traditional mobile communications system and wireless LAN system can do. In this paper, we propose an uplink QoS packet-scheduler for VoIP service which can be installed in IEEE 802.16 system and evaluate its performance with NS-2 network simulator. The proposed QoS packet-scheduler consists of three procedures: determining scheduler interval, determining the amount of resource assignment, and deciding which mobile station the base station should serve first among multiple mobile stations. According to numerical results, the proposed QoS packet-scheduler can provide more increased system capacity by 220% than UGS service scheme does and by 25 % than ertPS service scheme does.
Proposal of Traffic Management Strategy between Hierarchical Mobile-WiMAX/WLAN Networks

A hierarchical network between Mobile-WiMAX and WLAN systems is to make it possible to utilize wireless internet services including time sensitive applications such as VoIP, VOD, visual telephony etc. During the process of vertical handoff decision from Mobile-WiMAX to WLAN hotspot, vertical handoff delay causes user dissatisfaction because it doesn't provide the seamless wireless internet service. We make use of type of service (ToS) parameters in IEEE 802.16e specification as the criterion parameter of vertical handoff decision process in hierarchical Mobile-WiMAX/WLAN networks. In this paper, we propose the process of vertical handoff decision for seamless wireless internet service which is sensitive to time delay. If type of service is time sensitive application, the decision of vertical handoff is withdrawn until the service is terminated. In focus on user satisfaction, if the proposed traffic management strategy in hierarchical Mobile-WiMAX/WLAN networks is used, user will utilize seamless wireless internet services including time sensitive applications.
ARQ-based Multicast for OFDMA Systems

Multicast-based data communication is an efficient communication scheme in wireless networks where the Media Access Control (MAC) layer is based on one-hop broadcast from one source to multiple receivers. Compared with unicast, multicast over wireless channel should handle varying channel conditions of multiple users and user mobility to achieve good quality for all users. However, IEEE 802.11 does not support reliable multicast due to its inability to exchange RTS/CTS and ACK with multiple recipients. Thus, several MAC layer protocols have been proposed to provide reliable multicast. For the reliable multicast, an additional overhead is introduced and it degrades the system performance. In this paper, we propose a cross-layer design to reduce the control overhead for reliable multicast in OFDMA systems. We present an analytical formulation of the system throughput associated with the overhead.
The CPU power management technique in the Mobile Embedded System

Improvement of the PFCM(Possibilistic Fuzzy C-Means) Clustering Method

Cluster analysis or clustering is a kind of unsupervised learning method in which a set of data points is divided into a given number of homogeneous groups. Fuzzy clustering method, one of the most popular clustering method, allows a point to belong to all the clusters with different degrees, so produces more intuitive and natural clusters than hard clustering method does. Even more some of fuzzy clustering variants have noise-immunity. In this paper, we improved the Possibilistic Fuzzy C-Means (PFCM), which generates a membership matrix as well as a typicality matrix, using Gath-Geva (GG) method. The proposed method has a focus on the boundaries of clusters, which is different from most of the other methods having a focus on the centers of clusters. The generated membership values are suitable for the classification-type applications. As the typicality values generated from the algorithm have a similar distribution with the values of density function of Gaussian distribution, it is useful for Gaussian-type density estimation. Even more GG method can handle the clusters having different numbers of data points, which the other well-known method by Gustafson and Kessel can not. All of these points are obvious in the experimental results.
Design and Implementation of the Slope-Crack Prediction System by Using Wireless Sensor Networks

With the proliferation of ubiquitous computing we have witnessed the wide application of many wireless sensor networks into various areas because of easy installations and low-cost merits. The commercially available equipments for monitoring and predicting cracks in the mountain regions are still burden for us in terms of the installation complexity and the cost. Alternatively we in this paper design and implement a pilot slop-crack monitoring and prediction system which is based on low-cost commercial sensor networks. The proposed system is easy to install on cliffs, slopes, rocks, and banks and may minimize the destruction of the original geographical forms. Expected is that its installation and maintenance costs may reduce to the half of those of existing systems.
Development of UHF RFID Ceramic Antenna Using HFSS

In this paper, we report the design of UHF RFID ceramic antenna using HFSS, one of the widely used RFID design tools. Of the developed antenna system, we analyze its Return Loss using HFSS and its characteristics using Smith Chart methodology. We built the ceramic antenna system based on the HFSS design, and analyzed its performance by measuring the impedence matching and gains using Network Analyzer. We attach the developed prototype to UHF RFID portable terminal, and performed distance measuring for five widely used types of RFID tags to verify the performance of our proposed antenna system.
Component analysis and reformative plan for Educational On-Line Game - especially on the User Interface Design elements -

Supporting the interactive relation between gamer and computer, and offering the game world information, the user interface in online games plays an important role for a gamer to lead game into the intended direction. The purpose of this study is to analyse a currently utilized online game with educational implications and to analyse its user interface design elements, in order to suggest the strategy how to reformative educational online games.
