A Study on Technology Acceptance Factors for Business Revenue of u-Health System

The objective of this research is to get the lesson of the policy by searching the factors of technology acceptance focused on u-Health system. For the purpose of this research, this study presented the concept of u-Health and literature review associated with technology acceptance. Also, this research analyzed the factors affecting 'acceptance of u-Health system'. As a result of the analysis, the first factor affecting acceptance of u-health system is 'self-efficacy' and the second factor is 'connecting'. These results showed characteristics of the innovative aspects and the 'anytime and anywhere' in the ubiquitous concept. Therefore, considering these factors when developing with the priority of u-health system will be able to increase the likelihood of business revenue.
A Study on the Technical Regulation of Weak Electric Filed Strength Radio Equipment about 8.2Hz Frequency Band

This paper compared the output limit value of the Korean weak electric field strength wireless device in the 8.2MHz band with the standard values of foreign countries. Through this, the study confirmed that the Korean regulation was lower by about 10-20dB than those of the USA or Europe. Correlation between the Thickness and Variation of Dielectric Conatant on SiOC thin film

The SiOC films were deposited with the variation of flow rate ratios by chemical vapor deposition. It was researched the reason of decreasing the dielectric constant in SiOC film and the relationship between the dielectric constant and the thickness. The thickness of the deposited films tends to in proportion to the refractive index and the sample with the lowest dielectric constant decreased the thickness. The refractive index was decreased after annealing because of the decreasing of the film's thickness by annealing process.
A Study on Estimation of a Beat Spectrum in a FMCW Radar

Recently, a FMCW radar is used for the various purposes in the short range detection and tracking of targets. The main advantages of a FMCWradar are the comparative simplicity of implementation and the low peak power transmission characterizing the very low probability of signal interception. Since it uses the frequency modulated continuous wave for transmission and demodulation, the received beat frequency represents the range and Doppler information of targets. Detection and extraction of useful information from targets are performed in this beat frequency domain. Therefore, the resolution and accuracy in the estimation of a beat spectrum are very important. However, using the conventional FFT estimation method, the high resolution spectrum estimation with a low sidelobe level is not possible if the acquisition time is very short in receiving target echoes. This kind of problems deteriorates the detection performance of adjacent targets having the large magnitude differences in return echoes and also degrades the reliability of the extracted information. Therefore, in this paper, the model parameter estimation methods such as autoregressive and eigenvector spectrum estimation are applied to mitigate these problems. Also, simulation results are compared and analyzed for further improvement.
Characteristics of Insertion Loss of Transmission Line with Equal Line Length Due to a Rectangular Aperture Size in a Backplane

This paper presents the backplane effects due to a rectangular aperture size for two-wire transmission line with equal line length crossing the changeable rectangular aperture in an infinite ground backplane. It is used to determine the characteristics of the backplane insertion loss of the transmission line from the load section in accordance with the backplane aperture size. The results show that the insertion gain and insertion loss are obtained for the specific frequency range when the transmission line is closed to the backplane aperture size. The insertion loss is decreased that the aperture horizontal length and vertical length is more than a=50 mm and b=20 mm. The measurements of insertion loss are performed to verify the theoretical analysis.
Depth-first branch-and-bound-based decoder with low complexity

In this paper, a fast sphere decoder is proposed for the joint detection of phase-shift keying (PSK) signals in uncoded Vertical Bell Laboratories Layered Space Time (V-BLAST) systems. The proposed decoder, PSD, consists of preprocessing stage and search stage. The search stage of PSD relies on the depth-first branch-and-bound (BB) algorithm with "best-first" orders stored in lookup tables. Simulation results show that the PSD is able to provide the system with the maximum likelihood (ML) performance at low complexity.
Projection-based Performance Measurement Methodology of Session Initiation Protocol for the Next Generation Convergence Network

Performance of processing protocols is one most important goal in a network or systems constituting the network. Measurement of performance, thus, is an essential element to not only establish the network but also develop systems. A projection in vector mathematics is the transformation of points and lines in one plane onto another plane by connecting corresponding points on the two planes with parallel lines. This is a method, as an application of vector mathematics, which is widely used in engineering as well to consider elements dedicated to the measurement object. This paper proposes a sound methodology for measuring the performance of the SIP protocol, which is based on the projection. The SIP protocol is a typical standard protocol for call-processing in the internet telephony of Next Generation Convergence Network. Owing to use the projected protocol which excludes unnecessary operation paths, the methodology can be effective in implementation and resource utilization. This paper also presents a process based on the proposed methodology to measure the performance of a SIP proxy server.
A Scheme to Optimize Q-Algorithm for Fast Tag Identification

In the anti-collision scheme proposed by EPCglobal Class-1 Gen-2 standard, the frame size for a query round is determined by Q-algorithm. In the Q-algorithm, the reader calculates a frame size without estimating the number of tags in it's identification range. It uses only the slot status. Therefore, the Q-algorithm has advantage that the reader's algorithm is simpler than other DFSA algorithms. However, the standard does not define an optimized parameter value for adjusting the frame size. In this paper, we propose the optimized parameter values for minimizing the identification time by various computer simulations.
Face Detection Algorithm and Hardware Implementation for Auto Focusing Using Face Features in Skin Regions

In this paper, we proposed a face detection algorithm and a hardware implementation method for ROI(Region Of Interest) of AF(Auto Focusing). We used face features in skin regions of YCbCr color space for face detection. The face features are the number of skin pixels in face regions, edge pixels in eye regions, and shadow pixels in lip regions. The each feature was statistically selected by 2,000 sample pictures of face. The proposed algorithm detects two faces that are closer center of the image for considering the effectiveness of hardware resource. The detected faces are displayed by rectangle for ROI of AF, and the rectangles are represented by positions in the image about starting point and ending point of the rectangles. The proposed face detection method was verified by using FPGA boards and mobile phone camera sensor.
Design and Evaluation of DDoS Attack Detection Algorithm in Voice Network

The algorithm that is proposed in this paper defined a probability function to count connection process and connection-end process to apply TRW algorithm to voice network. Set threshold to evaluate the algorithm that is proposed, Based on the type of connection attack traffic changing the probability to measure the effectiveness of the algorithm, and Attack packets based on the speed of attack detection time was measured. At the result of evaluation, proposed algorithm shows that DDoS attack starts at 10 packets per a second and it detects the attack after 1.2 seconds from the start. Moreover, it shows that the algorithm detects the attack in 0.5 second if the packets were 20 per a second.
Enhanced Diffie-Hellman Key Distribution using Mobile-phone

Although a symmetric cryptographic system has many advantages in speed of encryption decryption, the security problems with the distribution method of secret keys have been still raised. Especially, the distribution method of secret keys for unspecified individuals who want secret communication is becoming a core issue. As a simple solution to this issue, Diffie-Hellman key exchange methods were proposed, but proved to be insufficient in depending MITM(Main In The Middle) attacks. To find effective solution to problems mentioned above, this paper proposes the strengthened Diffie-Hellman key exchange methods applied for the mobile-phone channel which are widely used. This paper emphasizes the way to distribute the synthesized session keys to the sender and the receiver, which are created with authentication numbers exchanged between the mobile-phones and Diffie-Hellman key. Using proposed ways, MITMattacks can be effectively defended.
Hardware Design of AES Cryptography Module Operating as Coprocessor of Core-A Microprocessor

Core-A microprocessor is the all-Korean product designed as 32-bit embedded RISC microprocessor developed by KAIST and supported by the Industrial Property Office. This paper analyze Core-A microprocessor architecture and proposes efficient method to interface Core-A microprocessor with coprocessor. To verify proposed interfacing method, the AES cryptography processor that has 128-bit key and block size is used as a coprocessor. Coprocessor and AES are written in Verilog-HDL and verified using Modelsim simulator. It except AES module consists of about 3,743 gates and its maximum operating frequency is about 90Mhz under 0.35um CMOS technology. The proposed coprocessor interface architecture is efficiency to send data or to receive data from Core-A to coprocessor.

Design of robust Watermarking Algorithm against the Geometric Transformation for Medical Image Security

A digital watermarking technique used as a protection and certifying mechanism of copyrighted creations including music, still images, and videos in terms of finding any loss in data, reproduction and pursuit. This study suggests using a selected geometric invariant point through the whole processing procedure of an image and inserting and extracting based on the invariant point so that it will be robust in a geometric transformation attack. The introduced algorithm here is based on a watershed splitting method in order to make medical images strong against RST(Rotation Scale, Translation) transformation and other processing. It also helps to maintain the watermark in images that are compressed and stored for a period of time. This algorithm also proved that is has robustness against not only JPEG compression attack, but also RST attack and filtering attack.

Document Clustering Method using Coherence of Cluster and Non-negative Matrix Factorization

Document clustering is an important method for document analysis and is used in many different information retrieval applications. This paper proposes a new document clustering model using the clustering method based NMF(non-negative matrix factorization) and refinement of documents in cluster by using coherence of cluster. The proposed method can improve the quality of document clustering because the re-assigned documents in cluster by using coherence of cluster based similarity between documents, the semantic feature matrix and the semantic variable matrix, which is used in document clustering, can represent an inherent structure of document set more well. The experimental results demonstrate appling the proposed method to document clustering methods achieves better performance than documents clustering methods.

This paper describes the design overview of shared file system
and proposes the method for detection of failure node and recovery management algorithm. We also illustrate the characteristics and system architecture of shared file system based on SAN. In order to provide uninterrupted service, the detection and recovery methods are proposed under the all possible system failures and natural disasters. The various kinds of system failures and disasters are characterized and then the detection and recovery method are proposed in each disconnected computing node group.
Harmonics Control of Electric Propulsion System using Direct Torque Control

Harmonics (or distortion in wave form) has always existed in electrical power systems. It is harmless as long as its level is not substantial. However, with the recent rapid advancement of power electronics technology, so-called nonlinear loads, such as variable frequency drives for motor power/speed control, are increasingly finding their way to shipboard or offshore applications. In this paper a new approach to direct torque control (DTC) of induction motor drive is presented. In comparison with the conventional DTC methods the inverter switching frequency is constant and is dramatically increased, requiring neither any increase of the sampling frequency, nor any high frequency dither signal. The well-developed space vector modulation technique is applied to inverter control in the proposed DTC-based induction motor drive system, thereby dramatically reducing the current harmonics. As compared to the existing DTC approach with constant inverter switching frequency, the presented new approach does not invoke any concept of deadbeat control, thereby dramatically reducing the computations.
Sensorless Vector Control Using Tabu Search Algorithm

Recently, a speed control method of induction motor by vector control theory is applied to highly efficient industrial field. The speed sensors attached to motor are used for detection of rotating speed. In the case using speed sensor, the installation of cable for minimization of electric noise, weaken maintenance, increase of price are demerit. Therefore the study of speed sensorless vector control theory performed activity. The design of sensorless vector controller for induction motor using tabu search is studied. The proposed sensorless vector control for Induction Motor is composed of two parts. The first part is for optimizing the speed estimation with initial PI parameters. The second part is for optimizing the speed control with initial PI parameters using tabu search. Proposed tabu search is improved by neighbor solution creation using Triangular random distribution. In order to show the usefulness of the proposed method, we apply the proposed controller to the sensorless speed control of an actual AC induction Motor System. The performance of this approach is verified through simulation and the experiment.
Design of a Small-Area, Low-Power, and High-Speed 128-KBit EEPROM IP for Touch-Screen Controllers

We design a small-area, low-power, and high-speed EEPROM for touch screen controller IC. As a small-area EEPROM design, a SSTC (side-wall selective transistor) cell is proposed, and high-voltage switching circuits repeated in the EEPROM core circuit are optimized. A digital data-bus sensing amplifier circuit is proposed as a low-power technology. The more growing on home automation system at automatic control, the more efficiency required for energy consumption and for recycling energy in near future. Heating is essential in general apartment. Heating method is two types in apartment. One uses electricity, and other one uses warm water. If use electricity, is not efficient by rise of electric charges. But, It can reduce much in expense aspect, if use warm water. When use warm water, temperature of warm water is not equal from all pipe parts. Therefore, indoor tempera can be unequal with set point. Solution of these problems is as following. Temperature sensor in warm water attach pipe. The measured temperature transmits by real time. Temperature of warm water controls in receiver side. In this paper, we propose an automatic temperature transmission system for the heating pipe at home, that is a low-power based, and supply the energy source from a small AC motor resided in bottom cement mortal. The proposed system is used in power mechanism from a collision process of water-jet using propeller water-difference and also designed a CPU module by Atmega8 at ATMEL co., Inc. and a communication module by CC1020 at Chipcon co., Inc.
A design of Encoder Hardware Chip For H.264

In this paper, we propose H.264 Encoder integrating Intra Prediction, Deblocking Filter, Context-Based Adaptive Variable Length Coding, and Motion Estimation encoder module. This designed module can be operated in 440 cycle for one-macroblock. ECG Filtering using Empirical Mode Decomposition Method

Empirical mode decomposition (EMD) is new time-frequency analysis method to decompose the signal adaptively and efficiently. The key idea of EMD is to decompose the signal into a set of functions defined by the signal itself, named Intrinsic Mode Functions (IMFs), which preserve the inherent properties of the original signal. Since the decomposition is based on the local time scale of the signal, it is not only applicable to nonlinear and non-stationary processes but also useful in biomedical signals like electrocardiogram (ECG). Traditional low-pass filter uses fourier transform to analysis signal in frequency domain, but EMD is filtered to maintain signal properties in time domain. This paper performed signal decomposition and filtering for noisy ECGs using EMD method. The proposed method is presented and compared with traditional low-pass filter by two performance indices. Our results show effectiveness for enhancement of the noisy ECG waveforms.
A Watermarking Method Based on the Informed Coding and Embedding Using Trellis Code and Entropy Masking

In this paper, we study a watermarking method based on the informed coding and embedding by means of trellis code and entropy masking. An image is divided as
block with no overlapping and the discrete cosine transform(DCT) is applied to each block. Then the 16 medium-frequency AC terms of each block are extracted. Next it is compared with gaussian random vectors having zero mean and unit variance. As these processing, the embedding vectors with minimum value of linear combination between linear correlation and Watson distance can be obtained by Viterbi algorithm at each stage of trellis coding. For considering the image characteristics, we apply different weight value between the linear correlation and the Watson distance using the entropy masking. To evaluate the performance of proposed method, the average bit error rate of watermark message is calculated from different several images. By the experiments the proposed method is improved in terms of the average bit error rate.
Commercial frequency AC discharge magnetic stimulation operating characteristics

We propose pulsed magnetic stimulation below 30W by the AC(60Hz) switching control of leakage transformer primary which has some advantage of cost and size compared to a typical pulsed power supply. Pulse repetition rate is adjusted from 5Hz to 60Hz to control magnetic stimulation output. In this magnetic stimulation, a low voltage open loop control for high voltage discharge circuit is employed to avoid the HV sampling or switching and high voltage leakage transformer is used to convert rectified low voltage pulse to high voltage one. A ZCS(Zero Cross Switch)circuit and a DSP & FPGA are used to control gate signal of SCR precisely. The pulse repetition rate is limited by 60Hz due to the frequency of AC line and a high leakage inductance. The maximum magnetic stimulation output was obtained about 33W at pulse repetition rate of 60Hz, total 40, 80, 120,

Compression of 3D color integral images using 2D referencing technique

This paper proposes an effective compression method to utilize the 3D integral image with large amount of data obtained by a lens array in various applications. The conventional compression methods for still images exhibit low performance in terms of coding efficiency and visual quality, since they cannot remove the correlation between elemental images. In the moving picture compression methods, 1D scanning techniques that produce a sequence of elemental images are not enough to remove the directional correlation between elemental images. The proposed method effectively sequences the elemental images from an integral image by the 2D referencing technique and compresses them using the multi-frame referencing of H.264/AVC. The proposed 2D referencing technique selects the optimal reference image according to vertical, horizontal, and diagonal correlation between elemental images. Experimental results show that compression with the sequence of elemental images presents better coding efficiency than that of still image compression. Moreover, the proposed 2D referencing technique is superior to the 1D scanning methods in terms of the objective performance and visual quality.

There are Impulse noise and AWGN in a general image processing. Various methods have been proposed to remove these noises. Well-known filters are Mean, Min-max and Median filter and these show different characteristics depending on the noises. When Impulse noise and AWGN are in superposition environment, single filter doesn't remove noises well. Therefore in this paper, we suggested a switching filter using a probability of noise to restore images in this environment. And we compared a filter with conventional method through simulations.
A Study on Data Migration using XMDR-DAI

Enterprises saved and controled data using individual and various database which were occurred on business. The saved data that were existed in the database were approached by business processing for specified achievement of service's aims and were occurred frequently data migration. This research propose the data migration method using XMDR-DAI(eXtended Meta-Data Registry-Data and Integration) that were occurred by approaching and integration in the process of business processing based on sql query.
Meaurement Algorithms for EDGE Terminal Performance Test

In this paper, we implement the measurement functionality for performance measurements of EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution) terminal by using software. Generally speaking, the receiving algorithms in normal MODEM cannot be used directly to a measurement system due to the lack of accuracy. Therefore, we propose a new receiver algorithm for precise EDGE signal measurements. In the proposed algorithm, 2-stage (coarse stage, fine stage) parameters estimation (symbol-timing, frequency offset, carrier phase) scheme is used. To improve the estimation accuracy, we increase the number of the received signal samples by interpolation. The proposed EDGE signal measurement algorithm can be used for verifying the hardware measurement system, and also can be used for the commercial systems through software optimization.
A Mathematical Implementation of OFDM System with Orthogonal Basis Matrix

In this paper, a new implementation method of OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) system with an orthogonal basis matrix is developed mathematically. The basis matrix is based on the Haar basis but has an appropriate form for modulation of multiple subchannel signals of OFDM. It is verified that the new basis matrix can be expanded with a simple recursive algorithm. The order of synthesis matrix in the transmitter is increased by the factor of two with every expansion. Demodulation in the receiver is carried out by its inverse matrix, which can be generated recursively with the orthogonal basis matrix. It is shown that perfect reconstruction of original signals is possibly achieved in the proposed OFDMsystem.
A Study of Gateway System based on Google Android

Researches of U-Healthcare have been fulfilled lively with an advanced age and change of lifestyles. Especially, medical field has focused on researches of U-Healthcare due to that reasons. The U-Healthcare service requires the foundation technologies, such as sensor aggregating, data transmitting and realtime monitoring technologies, In this study, we implemented medical sensor that applied Bluetooth technology to guarantee the patient's movement. Moreover, we also implemented a gateway which based on Google Android System in ARM 11 Embedded system.
Development of RFID Education System

This research is about the development of RFID education system which is designed for experience use to understand concepts and characteristics of RFID not in the industry but in the education field. We implemented the RFID education system on the basis of the design which is focused to induce the participation and interests of trainees. We applied technologies such as RFID tag reader, database, image processing, visual program and web program for this system. Also, we applied the system in the education field and checked an education quality from trainees. Thus, we expect that this study is a framework of RFID education system and is used widely for basic education of understanding and utilization of RFID in the educational institutions and industries.
Simulation System Design and Development for Analysis of the Search Strategy for Underwater Targets

The Navy is trying to develop a sonar-operation strategy that efficiently searches for underwater targets. To develop an efficient sonar-operation strategy, a simulation system, which can analyze the efficiency of various operation strategies, is needed. The simulation executes the strategical operation by collecting information of sea environment, destroyer, sonar, and target. Also, it should be able to provide diverse information according to its progression. In this study, the simulation system that can evaluate and analyze the effectiveness of the search strategy for underwater targets in different environments was designed and developed. The simulation system was developed, utilizing the sonar equation and the lateral-range-curve, and it portrays many patterns of realistic movements of a target. This system will contribute to developing and improving efficient sonar-operation strategies to find underwater targets in the future.
